Does anyone know how to set spout lash on chevy 292 straight six, near hydralic lifters?
Answers:
Valve lash on a hydraulic lifter? whaaaa? capably if you need to know and you do enjoy adjustable rockers on a hydraulic cammed engine then here ya budge. The engine should be warm, remove the stopcock cover, disconnect the coil, bump the engine so that the number 1 cylinder is off cam and use a feeler assess to check the room between the valve and the rocker, if the rocker is adjustable which I doubt loosen the nut on top and turn it till the feeler gauge(whatever lash concentration you want)slides out a little tight consequently tighten nut on rocker arm, repeat for all cyliders by bumping engine over till the cam lobe is at bdc for respectively cylinder as you move down the engine.
if it has hydralic lifters thenthe lash is taken out by grease presser if you have lash it is because of low grease presser change your grease pump that will stop the lash and make your motor run a hole lot beter
