Driving a F1 coup¨¦ upside down surrounded by a tunnel?
Question:Does anybody know how fast a Formula 1 Car have to travel to drive upside down in a tunnel, and weither anybody have ever attempted it.

The downforce created by modern F1 cars is much more than their weight, and they could supposedly drive upside down in a tunnel at speeds around 150 mph. They are trying this as a stunt within the USA, but have to build a special tunnel next to a smooth roof. Wind tunnel experiments show that a F1 car will for sure hang up upside down.

As far as I know, near is no tunnel anywhere nearly long enough to do this undamagingly. Maybe the channel tunnel surrounded by UK? Then you need to find someone brave adequate to try it. Not me. As far as speed at which this occurs, I am not 100% sure, but I presume it's near 150 mph and depends on wing angles/setup. A road course sports car generates agency more downforce than an Indycar on a big oval.
the downforce created would indeed stick an f1 car upside down within a tunnel, but it would be impossible. you would have to remodel the entire engine and fuel system for it to be able to go and get up there within the first place. also, if it hit a bump or irregularity it would lose downforce, therefore it would drop off.
If you are driving a coup¨¦ upsidedown the whole bulk will be on the anti-roll bar so the vehicle will just slide to any side. It wont travel very efficient.
Well theoretically an F1 coup¨¦ produces enough downforce to accompish this, however you can't drive over a 2 inch bump lacking taking the whole nosecone sour of the front of an F1 car. Hell, the chassis sits going on for 3 inches off the ground. How would you expect it to hold the clearance to drive up the side of a tunnel? By the way I own heard that at top speed, an F1 sports car produces downforce 3.5 times the weight of the coup¨¦, you would only involve 1 x the weight to drive upside down.

Usually a F1 saloon produces 1:1 weight to downforce ratio at 125 to 130 kmph. This vehicle it can theoretically cling upside down if it is travelling that in haste. It cannot DRIVE upside down at that velocity, because the wheels cant verbs energy to the surface. At roughly 185 to 190 kmph the ratio becomes 2:1 which routine the force on the wheels will be equal to consignment of a stationary car and it can DRIVE. So specifically your answer, slightly over 185 kmph (if the carburettors, pumps and all other stuff work upside down!).

The hairpin at the bottom end of the circiut is angelic as you will see each sports car for at least 10 second each nouns and some of the best overtaking moves will take place near
You can get your form at the first corner or the castrol chicane where within is a lot of overtaking. You can also catch your seat practical the pit Straight where you can see adjectives the pit stop action.
F1 is so exciting and exhilarating that you won't want to sit down! You'll be too busy cheering.
