How is slugging % calcualted?
Answers:
It's similar to calculating batting average, except hits are weighted base on the amount of bases you get hold of. For example, a home run is worth 4 hits, triple worth 3, etc. So if you got 2 HR, a double and a plinth hit in 10 at-bats, you would hold 11 bases within 10 at-bats, giving you a 1.100 slugging percentage and a .400 batting average.

total bases == singles + 2*doubles + 3*triples + 4*homers
or, same result,
TB == hits + doubles + 2*triples + 3*HR
since singles facts isn't commonly available.

Shoulder injury?
Question:i have played baseball for 12 years 60-100 games a year. For the end year or so when I straitin my arm out and turn my shoulder inwards there is a audible pop contained by the joint usually in need pain but once in a blue moon with. What could be the casue of this and what can I do.

I played 22 seasons--4 within DIV 1 college and 3 in minor league. I was forced to retire from baseball because of 2 shoulder injuries. If the popping is coming from the shoulder joint--It sounds approaching you have some mark tissue. It happens adjectives the time with my joint both shoulders. Scar tissue is basically cause when he strain or tear a muscle the body have to build it back up and you will attain some cracks
associated with it.
So my guess it is with the sole purpose some scar tissue and how to remedy the problem is to build those muscles stern up. Search for baseball shoulder exercises and you'll find a bunch of useful sites.
There is not a soul here who can diagnose you. That includes anyone who might be a doctor, as diagnosis includes a full personal and family history, a hands-on exam and running some test.
See your doctor.
If your concerned go to a doctor and go and get an MRI. The only mode to really tell is to enjoy surgery, but it doesnt sound resembling you need one.

Looks like your prayers enjoy been answered. I a short time ago read a report tonight that says that Russ Ortiz go down, and Lincecum is expected to replace him on Sunday!
This is really the sort of break I needed to save my pretend team after Chris Carpenter and Chien-Ming Wang go down.
by June he should. He'll either replace russ ortiz or be used as a set up guy.
Lincecum is going to be a great bubble player. He has some naughty stuff. I think he will replace Russ Ortiz within the lineup after a while. I would give it mid - June to impulsive July. He will be in the splash up before the adjectives - star break.
I think it'll be sooner than that. The mode that he's pitching in AAA right very soon, it's almost like he's wasting his time. AAA batter are clearly overmatched against this guy. The Giants will bring him up no later than the pause of this month. They understand that Russ Ortiz doesn't hold a very significant upside, and once he breaks down, he's gone.
