Is here a rule that prohibits women from playing on an MLB squad?
Question:I've always wondered this, I'm sure here are plenty of talented women out in that who play baseball but I don't know of something like WMLB or if there's a rule surrounded by MLB that doesn't let them play within the big league.
Answers:
Obviously not. Pedro Martinez has proven that women can play a part on a similar level next to men.
There is an unwritten rule since World War II Ithat women do not play professional baseball only when the men run off to War. "In their own words," started the just women's professional baseball team and they come mostly from Canada and Cuba softball team and be all white. When the men come home from the war, they go back home.
yes in attendance is...
RULE #1: NO GIRLS!
No, there is no written rule, and clearly, nearby doesnt need to be one...hasn't be an issue.
There is generally what is call a "gentlemen's agreement" between the owners and the commissioner's office that does not allow women to play.
If near is a rule, I'm gonna break it!
I don't know if there is a rule or not, but girls are adept enough to play baseball. They aren't going to be capable of hit a 98 mph fastball or some sick braking ball that is to say going even 80 mph. There is a professional softball league for your information.
There's no rule against it, and if there be I'm pretty sure it would of been challenge in court by presently. There just aren't masses women who play baseball at a high rank. Most of them play softball instead which is a different game than baseball. The skills don't really translate that very well to baseball even though you might think they do. If a girl played baseball her unbroken life and developed the skills to form it as a pro I don't see any reason why she wouldn't be given a shot. She might never net it out of A-ball but a lot of relatives would kill for a shot at that. I guess to sum up, in attendance isn't a rule against it, but its not going to happen anytime soon.
There is no written rule, but after again I have never hear of a woman trying to get into the big league?
There is no written rule. This is because no woman has even tried to win on a team and this quiz has never really come up.
There is no rule anywhere says a woman can't play baseball. I disagree next to the comment saying women haven't tried getting into the majors. Their own been but didn't generate it to the big leagues. Some have made it to A, and AA. but never to the majors
No there is not. They presently put he/she some rules for MLB just contained by case a woman ever plays.
There should be
no rule..
Who is the best nouns pitcher contained by baseball this year?
Answers:
Francisco Cordero of the Brewers. 0.00 ERA with 12 save.
Papelbon
i would say. Joe Nathan, or Fransico Cordero who is doing great rite in a minute and is a fantasy dream if you enjoy him!
Mariano Rivera
Plenty of guys are having great season so far. Papelbon, Francisco Cordero, David Aardsma are posting great numbers. But Hideki Okajima (.61 ERA and WHIP on 14.2 IP and a great 19:4 K:W ratios) is impresive. Also, Al Reyes of Tampa have been lights out (1.20 ERA, .60 WHIP 10 save on 15 IP and a 20:4 K:W ratio).
But if i was up by 2, no outs and basis loaded, i would defenitly pick Papelbon to try to get the squad out of the jam!
So far it's Franciso Cordero or Al Reyes. It's openly Cordero in my mind, I simply mention Reyes because he is under so much pressure as a closer on a unpromising team, really the first perfect closer outta Tampa Bay in awhile.
But it's gotta be Cordero. He is pitching flat out foul and gives the Brewers an extremely righteous shot to win every night they hold a late head. They have the best history in baseball and he is one of the most important reasons why.
Fransico Cordero
JOE NATHAN!! he is amazing!! have a wicked slider and have the funniest twitches
JOE SMITH of the new york mets. he still have not let up a run and have k'd like 18 ancestors and walked 7. his sidearm pitch is unhittable for right handers because it curves towards them after going up and down
What happen to Carlos Pena?
Question:He was drafted 10th overall by Texas Rangers surrounded by 1998 and was traded to the Detroit Tigers and have a couple of good season. I saw that last year he noly played close to 6 games for the Red Sox and is now a backup for Tampa Bay? Did he own a career threatening injury?
Answers:
That remains a mystery, even to this afternoon.
I love Carlos Pena, and I really thought he would make an impact next to MY BOYS.
He has one of the sweetest swings you'd ever see, but the problem be making contact with the bubble.
He struck out so many times.
But when he connected...man WAS IT GONE!
The Tigers finally give up on him when we got Chris Shelton as a Rule V draft pick.
And the rest, as they articulate, is history.
i think finishing year he was on the tigers.
Carlos Felipe Pe~na (born May 17, 1978 surrounded by Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) is a left-handed first baseman. He is currently a non-roster invitee for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
He spent three and a half years beside the Detroit Tigers after being acquire via trade in July 2002 from the Oakland Athletics, who have acquired him the previous year from the Texas Rangers. At the time he be considered a top prospect. After relatively solid rookie and sophomore seasons, his consistency at the plate dipped observably, and he was demoted rear legs to the minors early within the 2005 season. The Tigers recalled him within August, and despite a knack for hitting game-deciding home runs during the last few weeks of that season, adjectives of his stats other than home runs and slugging percentage be sub-par. With Chris Shelton penciled in as the Tigers' starting first baseman for the 2006 season, Pe~na have hoped to win a role as a utility player or a designated hitter, but after continuing to disappoint during spring training, the team released him outright on March 28, 2006. He be very popular next to the fans during his stint beside the Tigers, being a sizeable draw at public appearances and autograph signings. Many #12 shirts could be seen surrounded by the stands. For his birthday one year, two entire sections stood up during an inning break to sing to him. Also during his art with the Tigers, he married Pamela, also a Dominican aboriginal, and became a father to a infant girl.
Pe~na was picked up by the New York Yankees on April 15, 2006, and have played for the Yankees' minor-league Columbus Clippers until Pe~na exercised a clause in his contract, becoming a free agent. Pe~na signed beside the Boston Red Sox on August 16, 2006, returning to his home state of Massachusetts. He played his first game near the Red Sox on August 28, 2006, filling surrounded by for an injured David Ortiz and hit a walk-off solo-homerun on September 4, 2006[1].
Pe~na was drafted by the Rangers beside the tenth pick in the first round of the 1998 amateur draft.
As of the cessation of the 2005 season, his career bat average is .243, with 85 home runs and 240 RBI within 489 games and 1652 plate appearances. He attended Haverhill High School, Haverhill, Massachusetts, Wright State University and Northeastern University. As a collegiate player, he competed in the Cape Cod League, which showcases top amateur prospects every summer. He be a member of the Wareham Gatemen contained by 1997.[2]
Carlos Pe~na is the first Major League player to have also played within Steve Buckley's annual Old Time Baseball Game, played at St. Peter's Field in Cambridge, Massachusetts respectively August.
Carlos hit two walk-off home runs for the Tigers. The first being a solo shot against Kansas City within 2002. The second was a regal slam against the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2004. And on September 4th, 2006, he hit a tenth inning shot against the Chicago White Sox to win the team game for Boston.
No injury. Carlos Pena is a pretty good deterrent first baseman. Offensively he has some power and is a streaky hitter. Unfortunately when he is contained by a slump, it takes a long time to receive out of it.
When the Tigers sent him to Toledo, they wanted Leon Durham (Mud Hen hitting coach) to work on his swing. They feel he had a flaw where on earth he couldn't hit the inside pitch consistently.
I thought he was drafted by the A's?
Pena is a flawless guy, I hope he lands somewhere where a hitting coach can find a solution.
Question for Giants fan?
Question:Ok I read on the Giants website that Russ Ortiz is going on the 15-day disabled list and Kevin Frandsen get called up to pinch his roster spot. I also read that AAA pitcher Tim Lincecum will probably come up and pitch on Sunday. How does this work because there would be no more roster spots available for him?
Answers:
frandsen is single to be on the giants for 3 days. they considered necessary to bring up him for 3 days and then distribute him down and have tim up on sunday.
if they brought up tim today...he'll be doing nil till sunday annways, so it was better for them to bring up someone for 3 days that can play.
dunno
It is too hasty to tell! I thought losing Jason Schmidt be huge, but he is out for the Dodgers.
If the pitchers remain healthy and the middle division of the lineup can be productive with the bat then they hold a good shot to compete at the close of the day beside Big Blue and the Padres!
