Did the Major Leagues ever allow metal bat, and if so, what year be they barred?
Question:I am doing an essay on metal vs wood bats for baseball.
Long story short, I have my essay done, but using floppy disks wasn't such a good belief, and now I can't re-find my information extremely well. Essay due Wednesday. A reliable internet source would be appreciated.

Bart Giamatti (former commisioner of baseball) said surrounded by the 1980s, "As long as there are trees, nearby will be wooden bats within Major League baseball." Bud Selig's office have recently stated that this policy have not changed. MLB has never, and most potential will never, allow metal bats.
i believe they be never allowed. it started back contained by the day next to a wood bat and they never started to use aluminum.college uses metal
They were never allowed within Major Leagues. And NY is trying to outlaw them in little league presently since they are in a big lawsuit over a kid that get hurt.
Never. That would be a disgrace to the game. Also you couldn't use them and expect the accounts you set to hold water.
No, they've never be allowed in the MLB.
no they be never allowed they kill pitchers.
Never
metal bat where never allowed, the turn too far if you hit with them, and hit faster flash drives. Sorry, i couldn't find an internet source.
They've never allowed anything but wooden bats.
I don't know if there's an Internet site, but the first edition of the book "Total Baseball" includes a sector on the history of rules changes surrounded by baseball. Yes, that means a trip to a library. They still exist.

Baseball hittin problem?
Question:i went from hitting the bubble hard and long to presently wiffing on every pitch im keeping my head within but i just cant create contact this all happen with contained by a week i started killin the ball and afterwards progressively they got complex and shorter any ideas very soon, im completely wiffing and i pull everything

Just be confident surrounded by yourself and just do your best, use your hips and legs, not of late you arms, then you'll be hitting them out of here contained by no-time!
Slumps happen... And more recurrently than not it is head games that you play beside yourself that cause you to stay within a slump. Priority one, forget about slaughter the ball. Concentrate on making contact. Also place the bat surrounded by your fingers and don't totally grip the bat until you come to the point of contact. (This is something that is easier to show than explain). And relax. Relax the bat. Relax your hand. And relax your mind. Hitting is one of the funnest things I ever did. Don't think too much just about it and keep it fun.
One small tip. To ensure you relax and get hold of your hands contained by proper position, you may want to rest the bat on your shoulder until you are ready to carry into launch position. Then tap your bat on your shoulder. Your hand should be in proper position at that point. (Again something easier to show that to explain). Good luck, and become a .400 hitter, not only just a power hitter.
What's happened is the curse of your own nouns.
Compare how you are swinging NOW with what you be doing when you were "killing" the globe. I bet you are now overstriding and swinging too rugged while trying to recapture your early artifice.
Get back into a more relaxed stance and concentrate on making contact NOT "killing" the bubble.
Try to hit the ball up the middle and the conflicting way. Once you can slow down your swing you will know how to swing the bat with more confidence. Make sure you hold a good stub with your foot. Start them about shoulder depth. Stride toward the mound as you swing. You will feel on the brink.
well pullin everything isnt that bleak. as a high university player i know that alot of coaches like to see u verbs the ball. I am a lefty batter and we tend to be inbred pull hitters. I cant really relate u wat to do unless i see wat u r doin but if u dont always want to verbs the ball possibly u should try not to twist ur upperbody too much trying to drive the orb and u might also want to adjust ur timing of your load step in the past u swing in corelation to when u see the pitcher all set to pitch
Who think MLB should incorporate instant replay to review call?
Question:I just saw a play during the yankee winter sport, where Seattle player, willie bloomquist, be clearly out at 2nd by 2 ft. and the umpire called him not dangerous!? Because of this, Seattle scored the tying run right after that play next to two outs and ended up leading the game. I be really angry. Instant replay can be used in other plays as ably such as if a ball is foul or unprejudiced, a home run or not (b/c of foul pole), if a player check swung or not, and maybe even ball or strikes( if clearly miscalled). If baseball had instant replay, than adjectives of these situations could be solved.

I totally agree...just closing night on the sunday dark espn game the moron for an umpire at second awarded victorino second basis after he was picked stale first by the pitcher and got within a run down and victorino went at vizquel and chased him towards pitchers mound to hit him and the umpire awarded victorino second..it be total bs. I dont know why the dont play under protest any more??? It be clearly a terrible hail as and it cost the giants at lowest one run, and changed the complex of the game. These guys kind 283,000 minimum salary i ponder they should be punished or fined if they clearly miss a call. This guy should be throwed out of the league..but anyway as you can see i be mad simply like you so heck yes bring on replay and obtain it right!!!
I am adding to my post because it purely happened 6 minutes after i typed this..rockies player hit a homerun and dumb azz ump call it a double it is in the ninth inning and tied 2 to 2 and should be 3 to 2 rockies. Manager see it from dugout and got tossed but 4 umps cant see it??? Idiots and completely ridiculous!! Replay Replay Replay!!
Not me. Games would finishing too long.
I think they should but it would be for a time too hard to control.
No, it would verbs the game from its roots and it would gross it boring because of no fights or arguements
me and fiance saw that too. he is a highest yanks aficionado and he threw a fit! that was so uncool and i don't read between the lines either why nearby is no instant replay on baseball. it is a bunch of crap! the dude was clearly out!
No method. I was watching the hobby myself and saw the play. but, baseball is just right the path it is. I think the singular time instant replay was used be when the umpire couldn't tell if thre be a home run so he went to one of teh cameramen and have him replay teh footage. I think baseball should stay aged school. It keep the game pure.
hell no thats for the nfl they suck.
yes please...so abundant times its pissed me off
It should be used within the postseason only. That's when those bozos should really be forced to get hold of the calls right.
I'd be for it, but I agree that it would be tough to control, and make the team game even more agonizing to watch on TV. I'm for a 'pitch clock' too, but that's unlikely for one and the same reasons. Of course, I don't presume baseball will attempt any improvements until after Selig's tenure. Maybe we could replay Clemens' messiah-like decision to come hindmost with the Yankees.
No Way !. It would add on 30 minutes to game . preserve it old institution. No retractable domes, no DH, No Interleague play, no steroids, and no Selig. !
I totally agree.
As much as that was a horrible beckon, I don't think baseball should hold instant replay. There are so many call questioned during a hobby that it would take forever to play a team game. I am not even a big fan of it surrounded by the NFL. Calls are rarely reversed, consequently at certain points plays aren't reviewable, baseball doesn't inevitability that.
Having said that, Davis's call tonight be AWFUL. Bloomquist was out by at least possible two feet, not even close. You can live near the "bang-bang" plays that go against your squad, those happen to everyone. But this telephone was wrong, and it be the turning point of the game. Rivera did furnish up a homer in the ninth, but conceivably things would have turned out differently have the right call be made.
I'm a Yankee fan, and be furious by that play as well, but I'm still against instant replay. Umpires do a great chore 95% of the time (more really.probably more like 97%). Instant replay would slow the winter sport down to a crawl, especially if you begin to allow replay to stand up to balls and strikes (a truly ruinous idea.respectively at bat could take partially an hour). The human element is section of the game, other has be.
I don’t like instant replay but I can compromise. Only on close call and if the challenge is lost the organizer is ejected from the game.
I articulate close calls because you see within football some times they will challenge a play even if it is rotten the wall challenge because of the cold luck in hell they might get hold of it.
yes and no
i was watchin the braves spectator sport last darkness and they called a strike on a check swing, when chipper jones elbow crossed the plate, but his bat clearly did not.
but on the flip side of it, the games would be plentifully longer, and if that should be one of the rules, they should have enforced it a long time ago, not presently.
If it's against the Yankees, it's always the right call upon. :)
On a serious note, I conjecture they should keep instant replays out of it. What's subsequent, a robot calling strikes? It's a human game, here will be bad call. But tomorrow night, it may be contained by your favor.
I was at that spectator sport tonight (and yesterday's game). From where the ump be, he couldn't see the play. I am a Yankees fan (well matured school Yankees) and that call for just made the activity even more exciting. Rivera just stinks and keep blowing games, so we can't blame it all on the phone call.
I think so, it will gentle Managers Nerves.
No way. Baseball is already a duly slow game, they dont have need of instant replay to slow it down more. Every once in a while an ump will trade name a bad send for, you just enjoy to rebound from that. Baseball is around adapting. You enjoy to adapt to solid umpires strike zone, you have to fit when an ump makes a desperate call, but if your suggestions happen, baseball would be very extraordinarily easy. The MLB umps are the best contained by the world, they barely ever miss a call upon, and even in this suitcase in the Yankees activity, the Yanks still had likelihood to get runs.
Despite any fastidious play that may upset you (people in Toronto still influence there be clearly a tripple play in the 1992 World Series...) the Ump's call (or blown calls) are part of the spectator sport.
It's not much different from a player making a fielding error, the runner isn't call out because "he would've thrown him out". If the fielder makes the error, we grumble and curse and move along beside the game near the extra runner on base. Same entity with the Ump's beckon, we grumble and curse and move along with the spectator sport (though often near a yelling game with the Manager...)
The Umpire's name in the roast of the moment is a large portion of what gives Baseball it's role and adds drama to the spectator sport.
I DO after that Yankee game ending night for sure.
It is time for a cash. They should allow a challenge and if the result is not over turned then the squad who challenged it should be charged an error to the executive, and lose 1 point.
