BaseBall Questions and Answers
Why is that undisputed team can sign superstars fan don't read out anything, but if the Yankees do it they are evil?
Question:Let's take the Mets and for instance.
They enjoy signed Delgado, Beltran, Wagner, Martinez before he get hurt, Green who is still decent but not great. All of these players be and most still are all-star calibur. Nobody says a word. Reyes and Wright are the merely two hitters from their farm system. Mike Pelfrey is the singular pitcher.
The Yankees pick up Abreu last year because the Phillies didn't want to salary him and all hell breaks lose. Would it hold been ok if the Mets have signed him?
Posada, Jeter, Cano, Rivera, DeSalvo, Pettitte, Wang, Hughes and Cabrera are all from the Yankee arable farm system.
The payroll is high due to the certainty of the number of guys in the peak/fat constituent of their contracts.
Answers:
The answer to this question is simple it is because the yankees are the most storied franchise contained by history of any sport. Everybody loves an underdog but the yankees are a perenial front runner and when they sign players that make them even better that pains empire everywhere becasue they know that they now own another year of watching the yankees trounce their team.
The Yanks hold too much money.
Start a salary boater, then see what happen.
It's not so much who they sign but how much money they spend to get a superstar on their troop. The sport becomes unsteady because the team beside the most money can spend the big bucks to net the best players departure other teams at a disadvantage.
New York have had the greatest payroll in baseball for years and that is to say the only idea they win championships. They buy them. If baseball have a salary hat, NY wouldn't even make the playoffs! Just look surrounded by the NFL at the Giants and Jets.sorry. Everyone on that team is mature and in their closing years of their contacts, so you know nothing almost your team.
Because the Yankees enjoy 3 or 4 players that each produce more than the ENTIRE PAYROLL of some teams, approaching the Devil Rays.
everyone says that the yankees hold to much money, well they wage the top players the big bucks and then charge more for ticket prices but culture still pay to jump see them. yankees even have to earnings into a fund that gives the lower team money. but then you hold teams approaching the florida marlins that would rather hold the money then spend it on players. ably get the suitable players and the fans will come to see them. transmit the owners to quit making thier pocket books fatter and help thier team.
The problem isn't that they sign these guys, its that when the Yankees go after a guy not a soul else has the money to compete. I don't mull over there is another troop in baseball that would of signed Clemens for 28M. When Abreu be made available last year everyone know where he would cease up. The Yankees didn't really have a use for him long occupancy, but they went out and get him anyway. That alienated Sheff who they tried to move to first...they showed no loyalty to go who have been a dutiful player to them over the last few years. They saw someone better and he get screwed. If another team have done that I would of said the same entity about them. Sheff isn't the nicest guy surrounded by baseball, but he didn't deserve to get treated that path. If this was a one time point it wouldn't be a big deal, but it isn't. A-Rod come over even though they had a SS already so they moved him to third. They do things that other team couldn't even dream about because of adjectives their money. Other teams do it too for sure, but the Yankees are the worst. It may nouns like a bitter adherent of a small market squad here, but you know what thats ok, because I am. When the big name free agents hang on to going to the same 4 or 5 team its frustrating for the rest of us. Thats why guys like Gil Meche termination up with 55M when they don't deserve it. Small flea market teams hold to pay top dollar for second tier guys because the Sox and Yankees set the bazaar so high.
Plain and simple... The New York Yankees are the biggest troop in the biggest city within the world. Everything they do is analyzed under a microscope. Plus you whip into account near is probably twice as much media coverage surrounded by the NY tri-state area afterwards there is anywhere else and near you have it. Every move is over analyzed by the medium and non-issues are turned into these week long drama's that drag out forever just so they own something to put on the front page of the sports section every hours of daylight. You could also factor in the amount of championship we have as a franchise and the expectation for us to trade name it to the world series every year also plays into this as well.
Personally I see zilch wrong with this signing, we traded The Unit and set that money aside for Roger. I believe that be about 16-17 million. So to breed up the difference I'm sure George could find that type of money in his form coushins honestly. It's ok for the Red Sox to go out and bring Dice-K for over 100 million but its not ok for the Yanks to get some much needed abet for a quarter of that. Yes it's pricey but I don't think one Yankee adherent is opposed to this operate. As long as he is on the mound in uniform set to pitch every 5th day (which he will be) I hold no problem what so ever with what he choses to do next to his time off. Welcome rear Roger and long live the NY Yankees.
Warchant's answer is entertaining, hate New York a bit? If in attendance was a gross cap contained by baseball, the Yankees would miss the playoffs like the Giants and Jets? Both of them be in the playoffs.
Anyway, the Yankees are evil because they cause big money moves that payoff. They've been a strong contender for the contest every season for the past 10+ years. When one squad dominates too often, they're bound to be despicable. The Mets have made big money moves surrounded by the past(Bobby Bo, Roberto Alomar, Mo Vaughn, etc.) that completely failed. Very annoying for me as a Mets follower. But, had those moves turned into the Mets dominating the N.L, we would be loathed too. If this current Mets team have not screwed up the NLCS last year and took the battle that was waiting for them, more would detestation them now also. It's entertaining to the small souk fans when the big open market teams spend tons of money, as long as they fall short. If they win the championships more normally than other teams, later they're hated. It's adjectives about the ring.
Other team like Boston & the Cubs spend colossal amounts of money as well, but come to nothing so often that they become a lovable troop rather than despicable.
Jealousy
Facts don't lie...near A-Rod, Giambi, Jeter, Clemens and Pettitte you now hold 5 of the top 8 highest remunerated players in the spectator sport (including the Top 3 in Rodriguez, Giambi and Jeter). How oodles of those guys started in your plough system?
Two.
Your payroll, with the codicil of Clemens, is back up to around $210 million. A-Rod, Clemens, Jeter, Giambi will craft over $91 million this season. 20 of the 30 teams within MLB had a smaller payroll on first performance day than that.
What is the story from Gritz call "the jailhouse wallet" that Jim Rome considered necessary to relate but subsequent wouldn't?
Question:Southern California former college baseball player that J-Stew knows that supposedly have a million hilarious stories. Jim Rome spoke roughly speaking this on the radio show about a month pay for.
Answers:
Jailhouse wallet refers to an anus. There was a story on Rome's show awhile subsidise where a guy be trying to smuggle a rock ad a stick up his asshole. One of the emailers referred to it as a "jailhouse wallet."
Does he still own a talk show? He is merely awful to listen to. He is the fakest voice on radio. He is like a bleak clone of Barney on How I Met Your Mother.
Are the white sox going to be the important division leaders for most of the year and win it?
Answers:
I think the White Sox noticeably have the guns with Paul Konerko, Jermain Dye, Joe Crede, Tad Iguchi and A.J. Pierzynski... and a solid rotation near Contrearas, Burlhe, Vasquez and Jon Garland.
However... I think they're facing some VERY stiff competition from an superior Tigers team, and a resurgent Cleveland Indian squad.
The Twins look pretty polite too, so this is going to be a hard-fought division. I doubt ANYBODY will lead that division for most of the year... I reckon it's going to be at least a 3-team see-saw conflict all season.
No. Look out for Cleveland.
No and Ozzie is not going to resembling it.
unfortunately, yes.
smooth answer: no...the twins and tigers outclass them, their pitching staff is aging and getting more and more inconsistent, and they just don't hold the firepower to match up beside the rest of a deep division
Like anything else it is too impulsive to know what is going to happen but I believe the white Sox are within the hardest division in baseball and the Tigers, Twins and Indians are viable contenders for the division and AL crown beside a little luck. The White Sox hold a shot if they stay healthy and their pitching must boost over last year. The first team game of the season showed me that the White Sox has a bearing to go.
Not if they hold on to pitching like that.
No. Minnesota, Cleveland, and Detroit are adjectives better than the Sox top to bottom. Chicago's starting rotation is questionable at best - their pitching staff got lit up for 12 runs by the Indians and they are praying that Mark Buehrle bounces backbone after a subpar year. Their bullpen is also less than awe-inspiring. It seem like every one of their relievers is heavily dependent upon the fastball, and normally you go to the 'pen for a changeover of pace. Their offense should mark a lot of runs.
Not beside the Indians in the AL main.
Not this year.
NO
The central is far too competitive this year for freshly one team to sit contained by first place for any long period of time.
There will be some head changes throughout the year.
No. The Tigers, Twins, and Indian are adjectives better than the White Sox. The Tigers went to the world series finishing year and return their whole troop, with the exception of LHP Jamie Walker and they acquire Gary Sheffield.
The Twins have the best hitting squad in baseball from concluding season (according to team bat avg.), have the strongest bullpen contained by the game, along next to Cytana. The rest of the Twins rotation is weak, and the failure will be sent packing soon giving guys like Garza and Perkins the prospect to dominate.
The Indians also have a drastically dangerous lineup and they own shored up their weak defense and bullpen from ending year. Their starting pitching is still very angelic with Sabathia and Westbrook primary the pack.
The White Sox have a falling apart rotation. Buehrle is long-gone his prime, Contreras and Vasquez are too inconsistent, Garland either does exceedingly well or extraordinarily poorly, and the White Sox traded away 2 MLB caliber starters in the offseason. If the White Sox do anything this season, it will be because of the 3-4-5 of Thome-Konerko-Dye
No. They don't hold the starting pitching to lead the division for most of the year or to win the division. After those arms start getting tired around the All Star break, I predict an shocking second half for the White Sox.
Although his perform grows wearisome after awhile, any team manage by Ozzie Guillen is going to be competitive. That said, the White Sox have the misfortune of individual in baseball's most limited division.
Even considering the loss of Kenny Rogers, the Tigers have to be considered the likelihood on favorite to win the division. Let's take a brief look at the others:
Twins: Too abundant questions within the starting rotation to consider them a viable challenger, at least for immediately. The best bullpen in baseball mechanism nothing if near isn't a lead to protect. Minnesota will other play the game strong but their talent level isn't up to that of the Tigers, especially beside the addition of Sheffield.
Indians: Why this squad seems to be the up-to-the-minute pick baffles me. Much similar to the Twins, their offense is potent. And if they had the Twins' bullpen... but they don't, so expect them to finish double digit games bringing up the rear the ultimate division triumph.
Royals: How desperate must a team be to donate Gil Meche $55 Million? KC won't be as horrible as the past couple season but Royals fans needn't verbs about good money for playoff tickets this season.
Your White Sox might score as plentiful runs as any team contained by the AL Central but my guess is that by the All Star break, they will be sorely regretting the departure of Freddy Garcia.
Projected order of finish:
Tigers
White Sox
Twins
Indians
Royals
But who know? It's along season. Injuries, trades, luck (both good and bad) will, as they other are, be factors contained by the outcome. Right now, none of our team has be eliminated. We're adjectives still contenders, so let's just soak up the season.
Peace!
Who's be a better mediator Bobby Cox, Lou Pinnela, or Joe Torre?
Question:Throw other managers out within if you like.
Answers:
Pinella doesn't belong within this argument at all. I devise he might be the most overrated person surrounded by all of baseball. Between the other two I'd own to go near Cox. He's done it longer than Torre and engineered a great turnaround with that troop. They went from worst to first and stayed in that for 14 years, no thats impressive. Torre be an average manager since he came to New York and adjectives that talent makes him look resembling a genius. He's caring of the Phil Jackson of baseball. Great at managing superstars, but not as good when the talent rank is a little lower. Cox have benefited from great talent too, but I still say he's better. In my evaluation you should of added La Russa to the list because he is probably the best surrounded by the business right now. Winning the series final year with that pitching staff be a miracle...
Bobby Cox without a doubt. He doesn't own the World Series titles to show for it, but he's done more with smaller number than Joe Torre. Lou Pinella just doesn't stay beside teams long adequate.
In the last 25 years Joe Torre.
Bobby Cox noticeably!! He has done more beside less than anyone contained by the last 20 years. No big free agent signings, great use of the tend system, and more division titles than anyone in that span. Torre have the luxury of having unremitting finances, Pinnela can't control his temper long plenty to help young at heart ballplayers. Bobby gets the hook moderately a bit, but it's usually when he is protecting his guys not just showing past its sell-by date for the cameras (LOU). Even without Leo Mazone as pitching coach he still have one of the top staffs in the league! My belief, but that facts are there!
joe torre lead his team.
he da bomb
Joe Torre is the most over-rated officer in the spectator sport. A monkey could fill out the yankees line-up card and win near some of the teams he's have. Bobby has done a great charge, yes, he's had great team also, but he's much better at handling young players and rookies. It other seems that no concern who they lose, some one comes up from the minors and steps in in need missing a beat.
Look at adjectives the injuries to Yankee pitchers. Torre has done an awful commission of managing his bullpen. Cox on the other hand have always have a great staff, mostly due to his selection of guru Leo Mazzone as pitching coach, presently in Baltimore.
Willie Randolph
Lets Go Mets
2007 World Champions!!
