What MLB troop passed up the prospect to sign Jackie Robinson and become the 1st squad to hold a Afro-American?
Question:They also were the second team surrounded by the majors to sign a Afro-American player.
Answers:
That would be the Boston Red Sox.
the Bosux...
the most racist team surrounded by baseball history the boston Red Sox. they also had a providence to sign Willie Mays.
Every other Major League team passed on Jackie Robinson. They also passed on every other black player since him.
The Boston Red Sox were the second team to integrate Afro-American players into their roster. Predjudice be very rough surrounded by Boston at the time.
Its already been said that it be the Red Sox which is true, but any team could of signed him. Dan may of have a simplistic view of the quiz being asked, but he is correct within what he said. All of the Negro League players were essentially free agents and could of be signed by any team surrounded by the league. Boston may of had a more formal casual at him and didn't take it, but within actuality they weren't the only troop to pass on him.
Wow. People still beckon black people "Afro-American".
Do you reflect Joe Torrre will really be fired as superior of the Yankees?
Question:I'm a Red Sox fan, but hold a lot of respect for Joe Torre.
Answers:
I'm also a Red Sox adherent. I don't it's Joe's fault the Yankees' are pitching trouble. This lies beside Brian Cashman. Instead of spending all that money on over the hummock or often injured pitchers (Randy Johnson, Carl Pavano, Andy Pettite), hitters they own no room for (Melky Cabrera, Bobby Abreu) he should've been trying develop younger pitching through the minors or acquire through free agency. Baseball have golden rule good pitching beat good hitting. Cashman appreciably doesn't subscribe to that rule.
He might deserve to be. He has really well brought-up players, but they're not winning right presently. He is an okay manager, but not a great one. But he did own a pretty good run.
THE BOSS requests no excuses. Heads will roll unless yankees start winning.
I'm a Yankee Hater and i own no respect for Joe Torre, you gotta realize that any idiot could make the playoffs beside their payroll and team. Torre never have success outside of the bronx and he probably wont know how to get another governmental job.
As far as firing him the yankees really missed out on a guy name Joe Maddon the tampa bay bureaucrat. Torre should never of been resigned during the offseason, Maddon would enjoy been an amazing fit for them hes a endowed manager
I doubt it...they started resembling this the last 2 years...they'll turn it around.
no...the problem is the vigour of his starting pitchers.
because of his starting pitchers arent healthy, the yankees have to bring up alot of rookies to start games.
the combination of their starters not being athletic and having rookies starting expected 2 results:
1. alot of losses and 2. bullpen being overused since the starters arent polite.
so therefore...its not torre's reproach that mussina, pavano, wang are hurt.
are you kidding roughly the devil ray overseer? yeah real amazing dude is surrounded by the cellar every year...the boss would butcher himself before he hired maddon
I am a Blue Jays lover and yea even though Torre is a legendary checker, Steinbruner won't tolerate his enormous payroll sitting on the bottom of the division looking up to team that they usually lead resembling the Jays, Orioles and D-Rays
its a terrible situation, torre is a great arranger, but the only use he is still around is becuase stienbrenners son in imperative was the voice of rationale that kept him around. But his daughter filed for divorce so the kid is out and so is torre. If they dont win the world series he's gone. come july if they arnt surrounded by first he's gone. its just a issue of when at this point. And all of this comming from a huge yank fan
His players are stuggling, but it's more on the deterrent side. Yankees GM needs to sign righteous pitchers.
Do I think Joe Torre will be fired as the Yankees? I'd say-so it's a good possibility if the Yankees are struggeling at the all-star break, I muse Joe Torre is gone.
I'm by far not a Yankees fan, but when things aren't going capably with any ballclub, the owner can't release adjectives of the players, so the manager usually wind up being the scapegoat by getting fired.
They would be so stupid to permit him go. Its not his failing the entire starting rotation is hurt and he's forced to throw out guys who should still be in AA globe. He's one of the best managers surrounded by baseball and its WAY too early to nouns with a troop this talented. The Red Sox have this same sort of thing take place towards the end of the season and they kept Francona. There isn't anyone out nearby thats better than him, so this would be purely a panic move.
Yes, sooner or then he'll get fired!!
how bout grasp some pitching?
To have the talent on that squad and to be able to move about out and get any one you stipulation regardless of the cost.quite frankly joe torre is a horrible leader. He manages an allstar troop everyday.
If he is lucky.. Enjoy your retirement Joe, you've earned it. We will see you surrounded by the hall.
I really hope not .While Joe Torre may not be the greatest administrator in history he does enjoy the ability to preserve himself and his team soothing and focused in the intense environment of playing for the Yankees . In NYC individual calm contained by the face of a disaster is an incredibly prized asset , just ask Bob Lemon.
I only don't see another manager coming contained by and doing anything better than what Torre's been doing given the abysmal state of the Yankee pitching staff.
If anyone requests to be fired it's Brian Cashman who has prearranged for years that the Yankees need pitching and hasn't done a adjectives lot to get it. Cashman have built a team that desires to win games by 7-5 scores surrounded by order to be successful . That philosophy will acquire you to the dance but it won't bring you home
No. He's still one of the best manager in the winter sport and there is nobody out nearby better to replace him at this point.
Go Sox!

Are the trade rumors in the order of Brad Lidge to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays true?
Question:If not to the Devil Rays is he going to be sent anywhere?
Answers:
Tampa Bay and now possibly the Blu Jays. The Jays haver profusely of young talent, elder contracts, and desperately need the helpo in a minute with Brandon Lee and BJ Ryan out. Lidge might give a hand coming to a team that have the potential to score some runs and win some games. Tampa Bay isn't looking to hand over up Baldelli for him, so that deal might not work unless a carton can be put together, even if it includes other teams. Cincinnati is also supposedly interested within bullpen help, but Lidge is a longshot.
not sure but they are conversation bout it they talk in the region of every player.
As a Astros fan they can own him. Let him serve up t-ball ball home runs over nearby in the AL.
And yes the rumors are markedly true especially in Toronto.
