This wasn't the first time that 4 players have hit 4 homers contained by a row. (Boston today versus the Yankees.) The Dodgers did it last year versus the Padres. Clevland did it versus the Angles within 1963 also. I am not sure if there are any since 1963.
The Red Sox did it tonight (I'm assuming you want to know if it had be done prior to that) and the Dodgers did it last year. This year be the first time that it had be done off of one pitcher. Here is another tidbit. JD Drew hit one of the homers within both games.

Well, it's not a surprising pick. Despite lacking the powerful slugger, the Dodgers enjoy eight tough outs in their lineup and a rotation of five veterans who enjoy proven that they can throw a lot of innings. The rear legs end of their bullpen have been dominant so far. They are plainly the class of their division, and I think they're more well-rounded than the Mets and everyone else contained by the NL.

Their only competition contained by the NL is either too mature or too green. With the all around solid players the Dodger's enjoy, it's not like the guy be risking his life on that pick. He's probably right.
I don't deliberate will even win their division let alone the NL. The Padres enjoy a superior pitching staff both in the rotation and within the bullpen. I'd take Peavy, Young, Maddux, Hensley and the tubby guy over Schmidt, Lowe, Penny, Wolf, and Tomko any day. That doesn't even mention the reality that the bullpen in LA is awfully weak outside of perchance Broxton. Saito is old and doesn't hold the dominate stuff needed to close. The lineup in LA isn't that much better any. Martin and Furcal are the only guys where on earth they have a clear supremacy if you take the ourfield as a unbroken instead of individual postions. I could see LA taking the wildcard but that would mean a first round matchup next to the Mets, which they would have not accident of winning. They own superior hitting at pretty much every spot in the lineup and a rotation that when Pedro comes backbone will be good satisfactory to win.
Sportswriters are always too startled to pick someone "risky" so they go near the safe pick and pick the one that looks best in print. How often does the "Best Team On Paper" be in motion to the World Series? Who would have picked the Tigers, White Sox, or Astros to turn in yesteryear few years? I'll be risky and say the Dodgers don't even win their division. Hey I'll be existing risky and say that the Dodgers don't even put together the Wild Card. Although the Astros and Padres looked like a paint factory exploded within the clubhouse, the 1916 New York Giants wore Mulberry checkered unis that looked like Grandpa's pajamas.
I in truth loved those Sox unis from the 80's. At least they didn't enjoy the awful clashing of the Astros' rainbow jerzees or the Padres' yellow and brown monstrosities (late 70's, rash 80's)

The 78-85 White sox uni's were unpromising, as were the Pirates of indistinguishable period. But, those rainbow looking uni's the Astros used to wear be, in a word..gaudy!

The Arizona Diamondbacks own several variations to their uniform and most are hideous. I don't know how you make purple and teal/aquamarine/whatever the second color is look suitable in a solid color plan; let alone near stripes, patterns, or sleeveless version with underarmour shirts beneath them. And, the little "snake within the A" mascot is lame!
Without a doubt the brown and wan Padre uniforms. Others are the innovative Devil Ray uniforms, the Astros rainbow uniform and the White Sox uniforms throughout their history up until very soon. The ones they have in a minute are nice but all the others they own had own been awful.
