I have not hear anyone making anything near this brand of claim. In fact, he's projected to be the 2nd pick within THIS draft.
I think he will be appropriate, and will have every possible coincidence to succeed. On the Sonics, he'll take Lewis' starting spot (assuming Lewis bolts, which seem likely).
He could produce some monster numbers, but few "best player of all time" types come contained by his size package.

Sure why not. Kobe started as a young youth and he's emerging now as the NBA's brightest stars. Kevin Durant must own good coaching though and must enjoy great veteran leadership around him approaching Kobe did early on when he be with the Lakers. It's really hard to compare the two "at age 28" or any other precipitate age because of the rules imposed when Wilt played. People complain about the rule presently that the NBA can't draft players out of high arts school. When Wilt played, they NBA couldn't draft players until they had be in college and their class have graduated. If this rule be in place in a minute, Oden and Durant would have three more years to play college orb (or somewhere else) before they could be drafted.
Wilt is still the most complete crude player of all time (no business what the hype is now on ESPN). Let's look at your special stats compared to Wilt:
A) Most career 50+ point games (forget the age limit): Wilt - 118, Kobe 21. Kobe have a lot of games to evaluation 50 before he even get half track.
B) Most 50+ point games in a single season: Wilt - 45, Kobe - 10. Kobe have a lot to take 2nd place which is also held by Wilt with 30.
C) Most points surrounded by a game: Wilt - 100, Kobe 81. There enjoy been 60 points or more score in a spectator sport 61 times in NBA history; WIlt have 32 of them, Kobe has 3. HMMMM.
D) Only player to average 40+ points contained by 1 month (4 times): They didn't break stats out like that surrounded by Wilt's day. I find it intricate to believe that when Wilt averaged 50.4 per game for a season that he didn't average over 40 points a winter sport in any of those months. Same go for when he averaged 38.4 per game.
E) Most consecutive 50+ point games: Wilt - 7, Kobe 4. Wilt also holds second beside 6 and tied for third with 5 twice.
A couple of things that Kobe will probably never do that Wilt did: Led the NBA within rebounding (3 times), and lead the NBA in assists (the single time a center has done it). He be also a great athlete who held track records at the University of Kansas within the 440 yard dart, triple jump, shot put and elevated jump.
Comparing Kobe next to Wilt isn't even fair to Kobe.
