Great for self-defense but if you purchased a gun it would salvage you a lot of time and training.
There are lots of pros and cons. One pro is that boxing focuses on aggression so you will have tons of face-off experience in a self shelter situation.
One con is that you only swot up to deal next to punches not kicks, elbows, knees, grapples ect, but really contained by a street fight these aren't that adjectives.
The main article to remember when using boxing as self defence is to fit your guard as if you hold your fists to your face and you block on your arms minus your gloves padding your director you effectively punch yourself lol.
PS in Austrlaia armour is spelt with a c not an s :-)
You do have a feeling more confident and you will feel tougher as powerfully but make sure you store the fights for the gym contained by the ring and not out on the street. Good luck.
If self defence is your entity I recommend Krav Maga (AKA kapap) not a lot of classes around at the so seminar is were I revise it. Do karate in the plan time, confidence not be volunteering as a victim; fit ample to run away; and skilled enough to come to blows back if cornered by an attacker. If boxxing is that entry for oyu good luck. I mostly relish the team spirit of my club, fitness is a big cog of it for me too.
Boxing is good, but If you look into starting Muay Thai Boxing this is a much better street aggression martial art it includes punching, kicking, kneeing and elbowing. Also if you you want to move about a step further then you could try Brazilian Jui-Jitsu for war on the ground in close contact. This covers adjectives locks, for example Arm Bar etc, on the ground and even some Ground-n-Pound. But as you will know the most important attribute is your heart. if the above adjectives fails afterwards the best form of self-defence is RUNNING!
Which boxer today have an iron jowl? Which boxer can bring the most punishment short going down? Mayweather?
Answers:
James Toney has be in brutal match but refuses to be knock out. Jirov and Peter landed alot of shots but James never stumbled.
Hopkins have never been out but later again his defense is so good he doesn't capture hit clean that normally. Same thing next to Floyd his defense is too good so he hasn't be hit enough to read aloud he has a great chin.
Toney have my vote for #1
i saw james toney's rematch the other night...he took some serious blows and did not jump down...he was outweighed by at smallest 25lbs...he did go down surrounded by one of the rounds, but it really looked more like a slip than a destroy...he is a light heavyweight within the heavyweight division...
I wouldn't say anyone contained by the sport today can take closely of punishment and not go down. Mayweather is well-mannered because he is a boxer and not a brawler. He is very right at dealing punishment and without getting hit. Morales be thought to have an iron chin until he met Pacquiao. Oscar De La Hoya has gone down 4 times. Barerra is tough as nail, but he has lost several fight also. I would say in that is no true iron jaw warfare today.
Nikolai Valuev, he's a heavyweight champion from Russia who is over seven foot tall. He's undefeated and I don't believe he's gone down. He have a very gummy, weird-shaped head so that probably help.
manny pacquiao has the best chin...and he's the best at takin other peoples chins out...PACMAN P4P
Calzaghe and Hatton should both be mentioned as both hold been surrounded by some wars and both hold only be down once in their career, and they were flash knockdowns that they both dragged their backsides rear of the canvas to ranking impressive win, and dont forget both have over 40 fight without suppression and before adjectives the Americans jump within and say they havent fought anyone Tszyu and Lacy be and are two of the hardest punchers in their retrospective divisions and neither could KO Hatton or Calzaghe.
As for your comment nearly Mayweather he hasnt really got within with a big puncher who have been competent to punch him, Castillo tried his heart out but just couldnt put him away, that be the closest Floyd has come to hammering, most other big punchers that Floyd has face get outboxed, i enjoy a feeling that De La Hoya will show us whether Floyd have got a chin or not as Oscar is that technically correct that he will noticeably get through at some point after we will see if Mayweather has get what it takes.
With out a doughty James Tony I read the responce of the rest of the ancestors who answered your question it,s the first time I,battle agreed with so abundant others now I be aware of like I am chitchat to knowledgeable boxing fan keep up the appropriate work
He might of went down but I own seen James Toney purloin some brutual punishment in his finishing fight.
Will Roy Jones Jr. retire for obedient if he loses to Prince Badi Ajamu?
Answers:
a BOXER never really retires - does he? If the right fight for the RIGHT price comes along - ANY boxer will unretire. SO a "retired" boxer is an oxymoron!
He should be retired already. He no longer can overpower top fighters and is just embarassing himself.
He should. He hasn't fare well contained by his last few fight against Johnson and Tarver getting knocked cold. If he loses, he should suspend it up. I've all of his fight and he's only fought few pious fighters(Hopkins, Lucas, Tarver, Johnson). The rest are bums. That's why he's got the sparkling record. He used to enjoy fast reflex and nobody could catch him but father time have come.
not so.
I hope so. He's my favorite boxer ever, and I considered him the best fighter ever formerly he started getting knocked out. He can't embezzle a punch, and if he can't beat Tarver's sorry ***, he can't overcome anyone. Time to hang it up.
I SURE HOPE SO HES GOING TO WALK AROUND TALKING LIKE TYSON
I should focus so. It is a career appproaching the season of Autumn.
