Was he the most fear boxer of all-times?
Question:Aaron "The Hawk" Pryor. Looking back on his profession in the 1980's, nearby were various Hall of Fame boxers who in and around his freight class that never fought him. Roberto Duran, Thomas Hearns, Livingstone Bramble, Hector Camacho and even Sugar Ray Leonard etc. Why was it that the single one of note that did step into the ring beside him was Alexis Arguello. Were these Champs upset of " Hawk Time"? Your thoughts?
Answers:
It was pretty comprehensible Sugar Ray Leonard wasn't too comfortable with the thought of stepping into the ring next to Aaron. Bramble and Camacho would have lost to Pryor, and they didn't involve Aaron they had easier fight available, so it's not a stretch to see that they ducked him as well. I doubt Duran ever fear anyone, so I got not answer as to why they never met, I amount there be more money for Roberto at higher weights and he of late out grew Pryor. Thomas Hearns was the just one of era that most likely would own given Pryor a real trouncing. Pryor's pressure style was made to command for the big right hand Hearns have, and I don't care how well brought-up a chin Pryor had, he be a foot shorter than Tommy who would have be punching down with leverage. It would hold been a rough hours of darkness for Aaron in that one.
The nervousness factor was greatest next to Leonard and Camacho. Bramble was questionable, and Duran & Hearns be a bit too heavy to net the match up. Great query, yeah Aaron was definately not giant on any of their lists of potential opponent.
None of these fighters stepped into the ring with me any...I guess I am the greatest fighter of adjectives.
I think your logic is flawed.
My neighbors boxer, Growls, be pretty fierce. :<)
Aaron Pryor because poeple be leaving the freight class so they wouldnt have ot box ihm. But I would say Mike Tyson within his prime before the lose that showed he wasnt indestructible.
I am a boxing fan and honestly I know tremendously little about Aaron Pryor. I would read aloud hands down though Mike Tyson be the most feared swordfighter of all times. He mentally won most fight before even stepping into the ring. I know that his opponent could have last more than a few seconds if they be not scared stiff when the channel bell sounded.
During that period of boxing I would vote he was the most fear or maybe the most dodgy is more accurate. A little info for you; Pryor beat Tommy Hearns to win the National Golden Gloves surrounded by 1976, and beat him pretty convincingly. It be known that Pryor would woof roughly speaking fighting Leonard to anybody who would listen. Leonard when approached going on for the subject would shrug it off and really not address it. I come up with one of factors that might own contributed to him not fighting these men be that he started using drugs shortly after, or during, his two fight series against Arguello. His profession was really over because of drug harm after 1985- 1986.
Aaron Pryor was a great soldier that threw punches from any angle and could also take a polite shot too. As Brent said he fought and beat Thomas Hearns surrounded by the amateurs and Leonard never seemed to be interested surrounded by fighting him although it would own been relatively a marquee matchup along with Roberto Duran and Hector Camacho. At one time here was speak of him fighting Boom Boom Mancini too. Pryor be really a fearless swordfighter and his first fight near Alexis Arguello is a classic. Yes I would say you are pretty accurate in the region of "The Hawk" being a fear fighter.
Mike Tyson
I deliberate Pryor was a apposite fighter, but he's mostly remembered for the first Pryor/Arguello scuffle. (The "Infamous water bottle.") And it's true Leonard moved up surrounded by weightclass to avoid him. He would've KILLED Bramble and Camacho, but Hearns and Duran might have put him asleep.(Ko) As far as Leonard, I reckon that would have be a three fight promise with Suger Ray ahead two. (Hey he was the "Golden boy" of the 80's.) But surmise the most avoided was probably Larry Holmes. Holmes destroyed everybody, and the one and only person to whitewash him was a Lightheavy consignment. Michael Spinks. (And that first fight could be question...)
BRAMBLE AND CAMACHO MAY HAVE BEEN AFRAID.
BRAMBLE WAS A LIGHT WT AT THE TIME.
CAMACHO WAS A SUPER FEATHER WT AT THE TIME.
DURAN WOULD BEAT PRYOR
HEARNS AND LEONARD AT WELTER WT WOULD KO THE "HAWK".
P. S. TO THE "SO CALLED" EXPERTS, HOW IN THE HECK CAN U COMPARE AMATEURS TO THE PROS.
I would say the boxers who be the most feared are the biggest punchers and for that foundation i would say the most fear fighters in clear in your mind periods of time be George Foreman, Sonny Liston, Jack Johnson and Mike Tyson. I think Aaron Pryor be feared by one competitor and that was Leonard and that be because he had skills and he could rumble. I think Hearns would of destroyed Pryor. Styles fashion fights and i regard as Hearns is a bad game up for Pryor but Leonard was a polite one for him.
No point quoting that amateur fight to me any,(the pro game and the amateur team game are worlds apart and we all know this) Hearns looked approaching a stick in that come to blows a few years on in their career Hearns had freakish punching power. Pryor have a punch on him but nothing similar to the hitman.
marvelous marvin hagler
Mike Tyson, Gerald McClellon, Ali, Mike McCallum among others.
This really comes down to reward over risk and not simple fear. These fighters be starting to see mega money fights, solitary before see in the heavyweight class. And have to make as much as they could within a short period of time.
Aaron Pryor be like rocky within the since that he wasn't a household name, hungry, could punch, which made him terribly dangerous. So none of those guys be going risk everything for little or nothing.
And contained by turn most if not adjectives went on to take home millions battling respectively other and becoming legends in boxing. While Pryor fell prey to drugs and demons. So surrounded by the end perchance it was him who be afraid to be great? And now will never really know.
mike Tyson and Nigel Benn
I devise all of the men who spoilt to fight him be not scared. I infer they just have to pass on the opportunity because here were more bigger fight than him. The 80's is the era where here were tons of talent within the middle divisions. Pryor, just happenned to be contained by one of those divisions. True, some fighters may have passed on him, that's because they didn't want to risk losing a bigger combat if they lost to Pryor. I think it be mainlt because of boxing business and politics.
Three great heavies stand out within my mind as having a rep of scare opponents-Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, and Sonny Liston. They had the tools PLUS they be mean-particularly Sonny.
Anyone know who is champion the Viloria-Romero boxing game right immediately?
Answers:
The Hispanic guy.
majority draw
It was a DRAW. It would've be VILLORIA if he had knock ROMERO out (which he did ..twice). Probably will have a 3rd skirmish just close to PACQUIAO/MORALES... brings them more money
Rumble within the jungle...?
