The world cricket have seen lots a great captains who head their side from the front. Allan Border, Steve Waugh, Greagg Chappel, Imran Khan, Mike Brarely, Ranatunga, Hansie Cronje, Sourav Ganguly but man who impressed me most was Clive Lloyd. No, he is not selfish. He may enjoy the best records contained by cricket but that doesn't mean he with the sole purpose cares around his individual performances.
He is a team player and that can be see clearly when his goal is for a win a bit than another record for himself. Not selfish. But Sourav Ganguly is one of the worst egocentric cricket players and he is one of the main reason for World Cricket cup debacle and he shrunken the time and no.of balls surrounded by both the last 2 match causing profusely of pressure on the players behind him.

The principal problem with most asian team is they still have not come of the hey days of times gone by greats... We tend to worship them for their past deeds and forget what they are doing very soon.
sachin was and will still be considered a great player , but for an international and notably competitive game approaching cricket , you need to get something done consistently... Australians are setting in current standards in the activity by ruthless effeciency and consistency among their players.Even teams resembling south africa and new zealand fare better compared to India contained by this regard.
In this scenario would it be practical to maintain non performing players that too with elevated degree of inconsistence surrounded by the team ?
Now if race still rally astern these players just looking into the players chronological records, and only just want to see them in the squad...then it is better to forget India to even compete beside teams similar to Australia
