actually i really close to that team...they enjoy so many able players...but in this tournament they didn't show their best ... as i guess...
customarily we can say "this troop will gonna win this match" after seeing their performance.. but S.A(in world cup 2007), sometimes they did economically ,sometimes they gave up the meeting...
it's really hard to predict nearly them ,this time.
Today they performed very well against eng and they won by 9 wickets.as eng is not such a stronger side.but there loss against a small fish close to bangladesh made think us abt this.they come in to such a position which india face even now...surrounded by my view they hold the energy and the spirit to be contained by the final agianst the aussies ..they diserve it too than any other team.
I decision to see them as world champion this time but they are getting more inconsistent as the WC is proceeding and this is what they did or get in adjectives the previous world cups !! they play very powerfully in the begining and next lose their spirit at the end ! i own never seen such an unlucky squad like South Africa ! though you are right they are losing the grip presently but i still wish them apt luck !
Well they ahve usually performed weel. It is freshly the unusual hicups. I wouldn't worry. Australia look accurate once again. It may be an exciting match between SA and Aus if they form it to the final.

Sure South Africa have played some schockers within this world cup (and previous ones too) but what is importnant is how they play on the days that count (that's all that mechanism anything to every team - it wouldn't backing to win every match and consequently lose the final, that team have still lost, hint: Australia). I regard South Africa still have a shot as they in a minute, finally at the right time, seem to be peak and that is essential.
Of behind the team is found wilting underneath pressure. But I am sure they have overcome this setback, as the win against England indicates. It is a better squad with rich potentials and deserve to be finalists.
South Africa have been going through a rough patch and their production in the current world cup is not upto the expectations or their calibre. They even lost to minnows close to Bangladesh, which is a highly-underrated team , and a troop which has be on a 'giant killing' spree in the WC2007. Senior players approaching Greame smith, Jacques kallis, Herschelle gibbs have not played to their potential.
So, South Africa does not deserve a place within the finals, since there are better team like Srilanka and Newzealand !

Yes India,can win the world cup 2007 short Sachin Tendulkar, because, tradiotanaly and sentimentally India looses when Sachin hits a Century ( today it is different), further even though Sachin is no doubt a great batsman, he is not a winner like Ricky Ponting, remember his hobby during the last world Cup winter sport against India, where once again Sachin substandard, I always love Sachin and his spectator sport, but sentimentally I feel, that he is not a Champion similar to Leander Paes, who even though fails within the singles, in ATP Tournaments, but other wins surrounded by Davis Cup against opponents far superior to him.
