BMX brake thud?

Question:I have a Haro mirra 540 bmx beside tektro brakes that come with most bmx. my brakes are set up virtuous no problem with that, and they are apposite too. what really gives me trouble is that some times, when i press the reverse brake an annoying sound is hear. it is a deep shreak 'qqqqqqqqqqqeeqqqqqqqqq'(sort of lol, i cant describe it!) i dont devise its the brake set up, i mean i traded my pad with another haro and the nouns comes out just equal. its really freaking me out cause i purely come out of a cool trick and impress my friends and then human being joked around for my brakes. what can i do?

It is your brake setup.

Your brake shoes enjoy to have what is call "toe in". This means that the front of the wad has to touch up to that time the rear of the wipe. If the pads touch flat on the rim or if the spinal column touches first you'll get squealing.

To do this, simply loosen the wipe, tilt the pad forward somewhat, then retighten. I know this can be a twinge but it will get rid of the squealing.
Kool Stop brake pad don't make that uproar.

It is also good to put a penny below the very front conclusion of your brake pads and after adjust them while holding them down against the rim. That's regulation spacing for the type of brakes you have.

Personally, I don't want to fool near all that, so I throw away the free brake pad that come with the bike.

Then I install Kool Stop.
There's never a disturbance.

But, there is a take in for questioning!
You still sometimes need to do the penny, spacing ordeal on front brakes. It is never needed on backside brakes.
Why? Kool Stop is so powerful that you could endo unless the front is a bit cockeye so that they don't "grab" right away.

Have fun with your nice noiseless ride!
did u try wd 40
clean the rims appropriate, then profile the pads for a moment

I am interested contained by purchasing a mountain bike. What are some of the best mountain bikes for underneath $300?

Question:Can you please post some websites I can go to? Also, here is where on earth I am going to purchas the bike: http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/family... . Can you please choose which one you would purchase? Thanks!

I think you are looking for an adjectives terrain bike, or ATB rather than a mountain bike. Let me explain...

A mountain bike or MTB is made for use ONLY on trails and past its sell-by date roads. In fact, mountain bikers usually pinch their bikes on their car to trails to ride, never to see the road. The minimum price for a REAL mountain bike is around $800.00.

An ATB is intended for occasional on road and past its sell-by date road on smoother trails like fire roads or stuff approaching that rather than "picking" through a boulder pasture. They are priced anywhere from $250 on up.

All this being said, you must maintain in mind that the Dick's website is NOT run by Dick's and the bikes you see online are not necessarily what you will see within the stores. I recommend you GO to one of their stores and choose a Diamondback Response or Diamondback Sorrento. They are both solid bikes for the money and better equipped than some other brands (like Trek) for the same money.

Generally, when looking for an ATB surrounded by this price range, look for the following: NO disc brakes, Shimano Acera (or better) derailleurs, SRAM or RockShox front shocks (no reverse shocks- too heavy and poorly made at this price), GripShift or Shimano trigger shifters.

**EDIT**
When I stated NO disc brakes, I didn't close-fisted to imply that the brand is NO, but that you should not achieve a bike with discs at this price reach.
Trek is a great bike and is made in adjectives levels road, hybrids downhill,& mtn. But you should walk to a bike shop, not DICKs or walmart. they can Help you pick out the bike thats right for you(style, size, and Price!) they also can tell you some local riding spots for mtn biking. fyi at hand is a huge differance between trail riding, singletrack,& downhill, all are associated W/ mtn-biking...
For below $300 think used.

Best expediency for your money at that level.

A $300 bike would ultimate two rides the way we ride. No offense intended but a dose of authenticity.
It all depends on what what brand of riding you want to do and how long you want your bike to last. I would suggest not going to Dick's to buy your bike. They own a very poor screening of marginally acceptable bikes, and I hold yet to see somebody at Dick's hugely knowledgable about bikes. Also, do not buy a bike online. You hold no idea what you are getting and you will credible have to assemble part of a set of the bike. Unless you know what you are doing, leave that to a professional. My suggestion: progress to a local bike shop where they can integer out what type of bike you want, and then will put you surrounded by a good bike.

EDIT: I checked adjectives the bikes listed on your website and I would hightly suggest not to achieve any of those. They do not come in any different sizes, and unless you are between 5'11" and 6'1", these bikes WILL NOT fit you correctly. Even if you are that height above sea level, you are very constrained in your test. If you get a full suspension bike for underneath 300 dollars, you are not getting a good bike.

If money is an issue and you singular can afford 300 dollars, in a minute, (months or even weeks), several things will go wrong next to your bike and you will be spending more money just to fix the problems. You can capture an entry-level name brand bike (Trek, Speciallized, Cannondale, Giant, etc.) at a local bike shop for around 300 dollars and you will be much happier near the purchase.

No bike fenders?

Question:how come they quit putting fenders on most kids bikes
Answers:

Cost is one reason but it also get rid of a few more places that little hands can win pinched. They also tend to develop a rattles and rub on the tyre. Kids tend to run into things so they usually obtain bent. They also weigh a bit and are unfashionable.

You can still buy them if you want but your kid will probably want to rip them stale the first chance they obtain. If you ride in the damp they do stop the stripe but you still get a mound of other grime on you. So they are not that effective. Generally more populace dislike them than like them
Probably to release a couple bucks. There are after-market ones you can install yourself, though.
Because you look like a geek riding a bike next to fenders. Kids didn't want to look like geeks, so they asked their parents to buy the bike beside out fenders. Bikes with fenders quit selling, so manufacture stopped producing kids bikes with fenders.

When I be little my parents bought me a bike with fenders, and I loathed them for it! First thing I did be rip them right off! I get in lots of trouble for it too.
