Sorry for the confusion - But you did ask for the BEST bike..? I'm a FACT based guy adjectives my answers are from research and fact finding - There you enjoy it!

Enjoy!
Eeek! tough one, and you will NEVER get an entire, undeniable answer!

There are a lot of factor, one of it is fit, some bikes fit people different, so possibly Santa Cruz might be your cup of tea, but Titus not as much. Or viceversa.

Also, how much money do you want to spend? What do you define as XC? Just bad road, or some more agro stuff?

I would say that as a XC, Titus Racer-X, Turner Flux, Ventana El Saltamontes would be outstandingly good contenders. But, if you're budget is lower than that, near are other options.

Giant Trance or Anthem, Specialized Epic, Santa Cruz Superlight, Canondale Rush would be also extraordinarily good and not as pricey as the other ones.

If you resembling more agro, probably Titus Moto Lite, Turner 5-Spot, Ventana X-5, Santa Cruz Blur would be some very suitable options.

Ibis also sounds pretty biddable, but probably not for XC, more for all mountain (whatever that medium, which could be just more aggresive XC).

Besides frames, you also stipulation to consider which components and bits and pieces you're going to use to build your bicicle.
The Haro WERX Xeon, Specialized S-Works ENDURO SL and Kona Coiler de Luxe are truly SUPERB XC mountain bikes----test drive them at your most reputable bike sellers and FEEL whats best for you.

Does anyone know anything give or take a few sports car top roof racks for bikes?

Question:i just bought a mountain bike and am surrounded by need of a saloon top carrier for it. i do not hold anything on my roof at all right now(no bars). any support on what i need? fitting websites? thanks!

Here's a vote for trunk racks.

- they're graceful to remove and they fold for storage
- you'll never destroy your bike at a drive thru or garage.
- you acquire better gas mileage because the bikes are behind the motor, not up top in the full weave.
- they're compatible with more kind of cars so you can take your buddies vehicle next weekend or go yours etc
- they're cheaper
- they're WAY easier to get bikes onto and stale of
- you don't have to remove the front wheel and have them lay around somewhere.

Now for the con's;
- if you have 2 or more bikes, they can scrape each other's paint. I use some free foam tubes I found that used to be pipe insulation to hold the bikes from touching.
- your access to the trunk can be a problem. My seats fold down so it's not a big business deal for me.

Yakima and Rhode Gear are the bigger brand names out nearby... stay away from Hollywood Racks.

you can price some at Performance.com, REI, or bicyclebuys
Yakima and Thule seem to be the top name - certainly enjoy the most accessory option. My racks and bike accessories are adjectives Yakima. You want good rack equipment to securly get that expensive hardware - and don't forget about your bikes on the roof previously pulling into the garage...
I have used Rhode, Thule and Yakima and Yakima are by far the best. REI have pretty good prices. I hold also bought some of my accessories bad of ebay and got great deal.
do whatever you can NOT to put the bike on the roof, the fuel consumption will drop 5 - 10%, the bike is exposed to adjectives the weather and risks chips and dents from road debris. Plus you WILL drive lower than low trees or car park balustrade and rip the bike from the rack - it will be scrap.
A reverse rack (take the wheels past its sell-by date and hang separately) or better win it in the boot. Better use a roof box for the luggage and the bike out of harm`s way in the saloon. Have fun!!
I'm not a big fan of the roof top shipper myself for all the reason Kisscycle has mentioned plus the smash up you will in without question cause to your vehicle during putting it up there and getting it down (even when your careful). If you own been moutain biking adjectives the dirt/ mud winds up on the roof as okay.

I use a tow bar mounted shipper (Hanging type). The bikes are easier to get on and rotten and you only necessitate to clean the slot that is held surrounded by the padded clamp. I can suspend four bikes off mine (or a small elephant). Even if you toss contained by the cost of the tow bar this likelihood is comparable in cost to roof possessor systems. There are other options as capably bumper mounted, boot mounted and ones that work on hatchbacks and station wagons. These things are virtually impossible to be out and many a second foot one is available on Ebay.

The best option (the one I prefer) is to ride to where on earth your going. Take an extra day (or six) if needed. I promise you will delight in the trip.
First go on Yakima's network site http://www.yakima.com and look under fit detail put your cars year, then brand name, and last model for a fit chronicle. Many cars might be a "NO FIT" meaning they don't engender a rack that will fit your car. As for rack for your bike achieve one that doesn't make you remove the front reins.(Such as Raptor) Thule is excellent so is Yakima but stay away from the Saris Roof Rack because the rack is custom fiited for your car.
www.thule.com
www.yakima.com

Go to these websites and you can enter you vehicle within and it will tell you what you call for. For one bike, expect to pay upwards of 300-400 dollars for the entire rack system next to towers, bars, locks, and bike tray.

I would push for against a trunk rack system. They are not nearly as secure and you will not know how to use your trunk with the bike rack installed. Yes, roof racks can be problematic depending on how big your roof is (and how tall you are), near dirt/road grime getting on your bike, lower fuel economy, and hitting low branches I love my roof rack 100%. I'm sorry but if you are distracted that much where on earth you drive your bikes into the garage while still on the roof, maybe you shouldn't be driving. Plus next to a roof rack, you can easily thieve it off when you don't have need of it, or add on other components close to a luggage carrier, ski rack, canoe/kyack rack, etc.

The other selection to look at is using a hitch-mounted rack. Of course if your car does not enjoy a hitch, you will have to bring one as well, but hitch mounts are safe and sound and out of the way, you newly have to hope that nobody rear-ends you.
