Whats the fastest bikes for $1500?
Question:I'm looking to buy a new road bike, to win from home to work, because i lost my license(22miles each way), i run abundantly so i'm in really apposite shape, I'd like a really quickly bike, I'd like to be capable of hold 40mph on a flat if possible. I'd prefer not to spend over $1500. I'm 6'2 200lbs, any suggestions on the best bikes and what size for me, thx
Answers:
At 6'2" 200, I'm going to guess you'll involve a 58cm or 60cm frame, but you really have to try it out yourself.
"Faster" bikes usually are lighter, stiffer, and more "forward" than the typical road bike. A stiffer bike routine that there's less flex when you pedal, and more of the power go to the pedaling and less to torque. This also results within a more jarring ride. The more forward bikes enjoy a steeper seat tube angle. The form tube is the tube that runs from the seat to the bottom bracket, where on earth the pedal arms rotate around. Time trial bikes are more forward, that is why you see time trialists look close to they are bent way over. The result is more power contained by the pedal, but a really really uncomfortable riding position. This combined near the stiffness, I don't think you'll be wanting to ride this 44 miles a light of day for work.
For a regular road bike, I'd say look into a Specialized Allez Pro or a Giant OCR 1 or 2.
worthy luck holding 40 mph... even the Tour de France riders can't hold that very regularly or for very long...
a faithful speed is 25 to 28...
but besides all that, the speed is within you and not the bike. for 1500 you should be able to find something from KHS, Specialized, Giant, or Trek, but it will probably be aluminum and have Ultegra components...
34.17 mph is the fastest time trial within Tour de France by David Zabriskie who beat Lemond's antediluvian record.
With traffic and stop lights, you'll be averaging 13 miles per hour.
One of these things will do that speed for you

It will cost a bit more than $1500.
For that money you should know how to get a reasonably good road bike from any of your local bike shops. You will hold to revise your speed back to around 20 Mph. (most credible lower). If you don't ride much this distance could knock the stuffing out of you, even if you are fit
Look for something on Ultegra components if you are going to be doing this for any time.
The bike itself is only one cog of the speed question. The most exalted part of the ask is the engine that powers that bike which is you the rider. How fast do you assume you are and what kind of condition are you contained by?
Is it possible to use 1" steerer road fork on a mountain frame beside 1" headtube?
Answers:
The fork could be fitted but I doubt if a mountain bike wheel would enjoy enough clearance. Also the brakes would not work as they would not stretch down to a mountain bike wheel(26") road wheel are larger in diameter. I would not recommend it.
Should work as long as the steerer tube is long plenty to clamp your stem onto.
No, the wheel sizes are different, and the road fork is too skinny and long to fit a mountain rudder.
I obligation the 4 digit code to program my ccm bike odometer on my road bike. can anyone oblige?
Answers:
The four digit number is the circumfrence of your wheel.
There are two ways to find this number. You could find it by mark off the distance your pedals travels in one rotation and measure it in milimeters or you could look it up base on the tire size. There should have be a chart in the instructions that accompany the computer. If you no longer have them jump to the website below look at the bottom of page 18.
