Exercise is the best way to build stamina. Cycling is a good choice for exercise.(but hey I'm biased)
Can I straighten my race bike frame? Or should I only just sliver it?
Question:It's an older bike, and the front controls sits straight, but a little to the right of the reverse wheel.
Answers:
In nonspecific...
If it's an aluminum frame, trash it. If it's carbon, trash it. If it's an older steel frame, depending on how fruitless it is, you could possibly straighten the frame by taking it to your local bike shop (a reputable one, not somewhere like Performance Bike) and hold them cold set it. Ideally they'll have a frame table as resourcefully to get everything impeccable.
In your case, it sounds similar to you either enjoy a problem with your forks, or the front finale of the bike is twisted. You're pretty much outta luck here. Time for a new frame.
Good luck!
Scrap it or you will pay cheque for it with a wreck subsequently.
I would scrap it. Trying to straighten the frame will just weaken it further and the money that you spend doing so could progress to a new ride. This is especially true since it is an elder bike.
Good Luck!
I think I'd shaving it, but not throw it away. you can always use it for parts and if you or someone you know is into home builts the frame could be used contained by building another bike.

save money on dental bills and speck the frame
Don't even think twice nearly it. Scrap it. Let alone trying to bend back, purely the fact that it be bent can cause feebleness.
Scrap that sucker! Save any parts that you can, and maybe a shop will buy them. But riding a bike near a weakened frame is freshly plain dangerous, dude. What if you're riding and the frame snaps only as a car is endorsement? Trouble! Don't risk it!
Cut it up and make a cool design next paint it but dont keep riding it anything u do
Before she popped it my Granny developed similar symptoms. She looked all twisted and a bit misspent, wobbled a lot and couldn't travel in straight lines.
In Granny's suitcase there be no cure. Same applies to your bike.
Where is the best place within the world for a two week bicycling exploit (road riding)?
Question:Wanting to take within sights and meet locals, delight in cuisine, sample local beers and such.
Answers:
Personally I would love to do a two week tours of Western Europe and New Zealand. Travel is a personal entity though, so for ideas I would check out the trips planned by Trek Travel. They plan tours adjectives around the US and the rest of the world. They are pretty pricey, so I wouldn't say you should purchase a tour through nearby, but they have detailed map and itineraries for the trips that you could use to get profoundly of great ideas.
Denmark is for you, they enjoy more bicycles than people. 2x the population. 5Million nation but 10Million bikes. It's a nice country too. Beeerrssss? The Danes love beeeerrssss, absolutely Carlsberg.
its china.it must union with you.
the Tour de France course.
I would dance to New Zealand (again)!
It's a very friendly bike country near amazing views, ethnic group and local excellent beers (and wine).
On second place, I would put California, just around Tahoe :)
Too copious.
In the US? Probably California because it has the long rolling hummock ride opportunities and the small towns and such you are looking for, I'm sure. The weather probably is favorable. Great sights. Near the the deep. Nice.
In Europe (although I've never rode in Europe), I'll bet ride contained by Brittany, France would be nice. And I'll bet the rice through Spain by the Mediterranean see would be great, I'll bet.
My 2Cents.
Good riding!
So,you live in Hilliard,Ohio huh.I enjoy an ex girlfriend there.
How do you lubricate a bicycle cuff?
Question:I need to lubricate my secure it's rusty.
Answers:
Yes, and you should. Go to a bike shop, sporting goods store, hardware store, or department store that sell bikes. Look for a can of chain lube. It's usually surrounded by a spray can, often next to a plastic straw to help put it where on earth you need it. Turn your bike upside down, or enjoy someone lift the subsidise tire and turn the pedals, and spray the chain as it go by. You don't need the lube dripping stale the chain, or it will spray past its sell-by date as you ride. But you want to get at lowest possible some on the entire chain.
WD-40 will work, but it's not the greatest stuff for this. But it's better than nought.
10w40 oil
Spray WD-40 on it.
ky jelly. seriously.
wd 40
I'd say-so with grease but i don't really know
WD40
Wd40
you can also use sewing machine grease to lubricate the chain . that 's what i use on our bikes and it works resembling a charm!
I agree with Pathfinder...WD-40 is great!
Plus, I love how it smells.
Spray some WD-40 on the secure and be careful not to spray the rims, disks, or brake pad. Use a towel to shield the bike so that only the secure is sprayed. Wipe off adjectives excess Wd-40. You can also use Finish Line or Pedros chain lube. tfw
Anti WD-40 folks...look she is not within the Tour De France or the Markleeville Death Ride, so stop trying to push fancy lubes.
Grease / oil
I other clean and degrease my tie up before I lube it. There are devices that you can attach to your secure, but I wouldn't recommend the expense unless you ride alot. I lube my chain beside a dry lube. You simply spray it onto the chain, keep on about ten minutes and after wipe off the excess. Dry lubes are smaller quantity likely to attract dirt but wd-40 will attract dirt, grime etc.
DO NOT USE WD-40!
It is a probing oil. You want a more pure lubricant.
Unless you are trying to remove rust, use bicycle grease.
Lubrication reduces friction on the moving parts. It reduce wear and tear plus may in reality make the bike slightly faster.
WD 40 is great to break up the rust and lube the fasten ...
and if you throw on a rubber glove, smear the palm w/ a handful (approx. 1/4 cup) of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) and grease the chain. It's trouble-free to do:
1. Turn the bike upside down
2. gently wrap paw around a section of the cuff so that you can let it contact the Vaseline short stopping the chain
3. Keeping the foot in one place, SLOWLY turn the pedal so the fasten slides through the Vaseline, allowing the chain to be weakly coated.
Ideally, axle grease is best, but most folks have Vaseline close at hand. Have fun riding!
NEVER use WD40 on ANY part of the bike
for chains, I recommend Pedros Dry Lube spray for drier conditions, and Tri Flow Teflon spray for raining conditions
follow the directions on the bottle, and use a clean scarf to wipe down the excess
if the chain is really rusty, later it needs to be replaced
walk to your local bike shop
Hey,
WD 40 is not a good conception. I use Pedro's products. They are a bit dearer - not much though - and do a great job. I use the Syn Lube, which works economically but also the Ice Wax - this product not only lubes but also degreases. Put a gluey coat on your chain to start and quit for 10 minutes. Then wipe off beside a cloth and it is like spanking new. Apply another thin coat and you are right to run!
If the chain is rusty, Try some WD-40. Its the easiest to bring back ahold of, and its just a speedy spray on to apply. Make sure you get adjectives the chain, not of late one side. If that doesnt work, you might need to achieve a new secure
Let's get one article perfectly clear here:
WD-40 IS NOT A LUBRICANT! DO NOT USE WD-40 ON ANY PART OF A BICYCLE FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER! IT OFFERS NO MORE PROTECTION THAN VEGETABLE OIL!
If your cuff is rusty, stop leaving it outside! In certainty, leaving a bicycle outside is right up near with microwaving a newborn!
If you leave a bicycle outside, you should expect to own a bicycle that squeaks and works crappy. Replace a rusty chain.
You WD-40 die-hards obligation to stay out of the Bicycling section and dance back to NASCAR!

FOR LIFE BABE
Don't be fooled by WD-40. Yes, it's pious at dissolving that rusty junk, but it evaporates into the heavens and won't protect your moving parts for long. Use it as a first step then use a fasten lube. There are chain cleaning devices that will assistance.
