http://www.mtbr.com/ has a quantity of forums you can browse. In the middle of the home page there is a slice marked "Trail Reviews" that should minister to you.
In addition, you don't speak where you are from, but in attendance are probably local web sites. For example, for Southern California here is www.geoladders.com.
Huh ? Push it out to the street you live on, get on and start riding !
Adding to Andrew, forums.mtbr.com is the forum clause of Mtbr. They have several regional areas where on earth you can ask.
singletracks.com is another good site for trail info.
you could ring your local parks and recreation department for a map of biking trails
What size frame bike is immaculate for someone who is 5.4?
Question:is a 20" frame to big for someone who is 5.4. Also what is the size of a medium frame. Thanks
Answers:
If a mountain bike is what you're after later the wheels will be 26" and the frame should be more or less 16". Should be able to straddle the top tube and own 2 or 3" clearance. For a road bike then the wheel will be 700C and frame 18" with 1 to 2" clearance from top tube when standing over it.
Go to a shop and they will size you because it can swing if you have long or short legs for your elevation.
a trike should do
I'm 5'4" I ride a 26" bike, just depends on how you close to to ride. I hate it when I can't straighten out my legs when I pedal.
20" sounds approaching a good starting point. But be advise that one makers 20" might be at variance form another makers text. So, you will need to try them out beforehand buying. The word "medium" in frame sizes could plan just give or take a few anything. Again, try the bike out before buying it.
It will also depended the bike that you are buying. The size you call for on one bike might be to big on another. The bike I had surrounded by 2004 was a 17" frame (considered a medium). My 2006 bike (same bike, newer year) have a slight frame design change and it be a 15.5" frame (considered a medium).
So the kind of bike you want to ride and different manufacture will be different. So I would find a respectable bike shop and catch sized for the bike you want.
Good Luck in your turn out.
go to your local bike shop and find fitted
it is worth the extra time and effort
Trek or Raleigh bike?
Question:Which would be the better choice for a hybrid? The Raleigh Passage 4.0 or the Trek 7200. Both are about $350.
Answers:
There is really severely little in it for these bikes. No wonder they are just about the same price.
After checking the specs the singular real difference is that the Raleigh have slightly more travel in the suspension and two more teeth on the middle tie up wheel. This would sway me one passageway or the other.
Both are made in China/Taiwan, both are Women specific designs and both are 3x8 speeds.
Resale effectiveness could be slightly improved have a Trek sticker on it, but usually it will have more to do near how you look after it. Trek are certainly the better marketers.
Both should grant you good service and abundant years of enjoyment.
I do not go either nor do I supply any bikes unlike many on this forum.
If you be my wife I would let you pick. It could come final to something lame like colour. At the wrap up of the day, you are the one who will ride it, and you should pick the one you are happiest near.
Good luck and happy cycling.
Neither carry a Gary Fisher. Those mountain bikes pwn
Trek. I have owned several bikes, but I find Trek's the most reliable.
Trek. They're built better and last a long time.
I would suggest the Raleigh. I enjoy owned several rode bikes and always be impressed wih the quality of materals, assembly and warrany wihin his company, Also after buying the bike-and this is most important-if I ever have questions, problems, or tune ups at every Raleigh supplier I was treated near genuine interest that I would evacuate the shop completly satisfied beside the service. In other words, even though the dealer have my money they still wanted me as a customer.
given that choice, manifestly go for the Trek
as a situation of fact, ANY Trek over ANY Raleigh or Diamondback AND morning of the week!
Raleigh and Diamondback quality have suffered ever since the two companies merged a few years ago
by the way, for the first post here, Gary Fisher is owned by Trek, as is Lemond
Trek, KHS, Specialized, and Giant are my favorite bike brands, no thing what you are looking for (hybrid, MTB, road, etc.)
I'm not really familiar beside Raleigh, But I have a Trek and I surely love it.
