What is the best bicycle brand for men?

Answers:

For road cycling i'd recomend ridley, or mbk.
A lot of it is subjective. Lance Armstrong used a Trek, but it was not something you could buy bad the shelf. Still, they are fine bikes.
No such thing as best. It's what's best for you. The loving of riding you do, and what you can afford. But I'd try to avoid anything from Walmart, K-Mart, Target...
if your in 2 dirt jumpin a santa cruz jackal is sweet i own 1 myself
The better interview is what brand ISN'T the best for men.

There are only a couple of steadfast womens brands, one being Terry, that are primarily designed for women.

Most other brands hold models engineered for both men and women.
can't tell you of late have to borrow friends bikes and find one that you close to best and research the brand, prices(that will tell you a lot) and how other empire have rate the bike.
what catergory r you looking in? i don mountain biking so intuitively, i prefer Trek, Specialized, and Cannondale. they make some sweet rigs.
brand doesnt concern as long as it is comfortable to u.
look fore norco,kona,trec,cannondale,iro... moutain, specialized. avoid dimond back and supercycle.
don't ever buy a bike from places resembling walmart or canadain tyre cuz they r crap.

Soft suspension?

Question:i have a diamondback s10 bicycle, can ( & how ) do i harden the front suspension forks? or do i have to take it to a dealer with a special tool fnah fnah
regards
Answers:

there should be an adjustment screw or nut on the top of one or both sides of the fork

if you can't find it, just go to your local bike shop for assistance

if it doesn't have one, then it can't be adjusted and you may consider purchasing an upgrade

Best city for cycling (in America)?

Question:I've lived in Holland where on earth you can find a good/safe cycling path on the side of most leading roads and there is no want to own a car.
I am confidently in shape to progress 12 miles to work and 12 miles back lacking breaking a sweat...or up to 70 in a afternoon so shape is not the limiting factor keeping me in a saloon in Houston (where the bridleway setup along major roads, aside from Braeswood Bayou, is a disappearance wish for cyclists).

Are here any cities in the US which surrounded by any way approach Holland's plane of seriousness/convenience for cycling?
Answers:

Most bike publications will cite Portland, OR as the most bike friendly urban area surrounded by the country. The bike is just a method of life within Portland. Bikes are everywhere. Bike racks are everywhere and all roads own bike lanes. Public transit is also equipped to clutch bikes on board to gross travel door to door and not require cars.
Austin Texas is Very bike freindly, also many Bike lane for urban commuting .
san francisco, ca and davis, ca have oodles roads with bike lane and a large cycling population.
also, denver, co is big. .
holland, michigan USA is great. its a town on sea michigan thats great for cyclicts. although its not very big, they do hold a nice system. so does portage michigan.
Santa Barbara CA is great! lots of bike lanes and complete roadways (with lane for buses, cars, AND bikes!)
Ft. Collins Colorado

Ideas how to boost a design of a bicycle??

Answers:

Yes, I would put four wheels and a windshield, also a nice roof and a righteous cd player with AM FM radio and surround nouns, I will install a cool A/C and a powerful engine, low gas consumption, I'm sure it will be the delight of most..
Put a motor on it, and better brakes, and a wider form, and wider tires, and a headlamp ... you could call it a "motor-cycle".
Good luck near that.
Think outside the box. You want to start from scratch, after try to envision something you think a bike should be. Maybe a small joystick up front, maybe contained by back. Lower the center of gravity by making it saddle shaped.

It's your project - you invent. I did.
i ride a bike. i enjoy no problems. for those who start new and for those who are afraid of the 2 wheel. one type of security to be installed is this--in defence the bike leans right or left--45 degrees-an automatic side wheel should pick up the fall and prevent it --it is an belief. last but not least-- i find it complex to carry stuff -- from the bazaar -- the back form is not handy enough--it debalances the velo--an improvement surrounded by that line would be helpful-- upright luck. i get a cut from these accepted wisdom i hope.
Invent a good standard lamp weight automatic gear system for bicycles, so we don't hold to be reaching for a shifter all the time.
Good luck beside that. The overall design of a modern bicycle hasn't changed in over 125 years, despite adjectives the advances contained by geartrains, materials and suspension in times gone by two decades.

You have to consider clear in your mind things in your design if it's to be an restoration. Will the frame be lighter at the cost of strength? Can you change the geometry of the bike minus altering the three critical contact points (butt, hands & pedals)? Can you assure swift AND predictable handling?

Can you improve on the spoked flex wheel design that have been around longer than bicycles hold? Pneumatic tires that were invented by a Frenchman name Dunlop in the hasty 1890's?

What about the geartrain? There hold been a handful of "automatic" bikes lately, but no racer would ride them as they are too pouring and assume all riders close to the same pace. Mavic tried electronic shifting and Shimano used a compressed air bottle on downhill mountain bikes for a brief spell, but both were overly complex and too expensive for the standard public.

Many have tried a thousand different things to increase bicycles, and very few of them hold stuck. Be creative, but remember that if it's more complex, more expensive or heavier than current technology then it won't deal in.
