Do you know there is a Chennai Cycling Club,& the members have been to places like Ma'puram,Kalpakam,Pondi..

Question:"Chennai's Green bike club" as in Orkut... & "Chennai Cycling club" as in Google groups. We have been to many places like Ennore, Mahaballipuram, . A few of the members have been to Pondi, Kalpakkam, Chengalpattu. A guy from our group cycled from Mangalore to Panaji.
We generally take our bikes out on Sundays(marina). we arent professional cyclists, so you dont have to worry abt the pace.
I know many of you love cyclin but dont know where to begin. Age, sex, race, religion(nothing) is not a bar to join our community. All you need is a passion for cycling.

START cycling, start burning calories, stop polluting, stop contributing to Global warming.

Lets make Chennai & the world a much better place to live.

Whats you opinion/experience?

Question:i am a triathlete/cyclist and i have a trek 1000 road bike. i only bought a clip on aero bar. this have upped my avg speed about 2 mph. what should my subsequent step be for improved actions ie faster for same amount of effort? reverse disc wheel? TT bike? better road bike? something else?

Thanx!!
Answers:

There's an elderly addage - "it ain't the bike, it's the rider".

You're obviously somewhat fit, since a 2 mph average increase after adding up aerobars is pretty good.

The trek 1000 is a fine bike for this, unless you want to carry really serious and start competeing at a pro-am level.

The subsequent biggest bang for the buck will be wheel. If you have the money to spend on a flipside disk, go for it. If you're still somewhat of a beginner in the sport I would recommend a believably light, hastily, and inexpensive wheel set, afterwards get a flipside wheel cover. Make sure to invest surrounded by good tires, approaching continental 3000s that you can inflate to 150 PSI. All this will be less money than a backside disk. These wheels will be repairable, and you can remove the backside cover if you're racing contained by windy conditions. Riding a disk controls in lofty winds really sucks.

If you start breaking into the top ten surrounded by local sprint tris, then come up with about getting a definite TT bike, but remember, your fitness will be the major factor. A $10,000 bike won't product you go any faster if you haven't be training. Once you start spending significant money on a bike, you will start experiencing 'diminishing returns'. The first $1000 you spend will get you 90% of your upturn. Ever $1000 you spend after that will get you smaller quantity and less overhaul.

Join a club that has regualr training events, and look into coaching.
I own a 4 year elderly Trek 1000, and have spent more on current parts for it then on the artistic bike. If you are looking for a good tri bike afterwards look at felt. Otherwise, buy a newer bike next to a better frame before you spend $1500 and own the same lame frame.
Get a book titled High Tech Cycling. It details frequent performance enhancement like body positioning, training schedule, aerodynamics, efficiency and equipment.

The tiniest expensive thing to do is work on your form. A small decline in meander drag can make up a great deal of time, and learning an updated, powerful riding position costs nothing.

A modern wheelset is the single best upgrade you can do to any bike, and above 15mph or so a better aerodynamic profile does you more good than lighter substance.

Beyond that, start looking into a dedicated time trial bike. Cervelo make some very nice ones for relatively little money, and would sustain put you in a better riding position than your Trek.
train more
a right solid set of wheels - Mavic Cosmic Carbones for triathlon.

They spin up hurried and hold the speed better. With less flex contained by the wheels you don't lose as much power.

I upgraded to Ksyrium SSC SL's and my average speed jump about 4 mph.

Worth the extra dosh if you're serious about speed!

Hope this help

What color do the diffrent the diffrent bikers contained by a bike see wear.?

Question:What color do the diffrent the diffrent bikers in a bike see wear. I know 1st place wears a wan jersy what does 2nd 3rd 4th 5th ans so on wear.
Answers:

The leader within the Tour de France wears ashen. In the Giro d'Italia, it's pink. Other races might hold other colors, but most are yellow or gold ingots. 2nd place and back don't own a special jersey, they just wear their squad colors.

In the Tour de France the leader surrounded by the King of the Mountains wears a polka dot jersey, the head in the sprints (also call the points competion) wears green. These jersey colors be originally determined by the sponsoring companies' colors.
crazydave has it right, but near is also the white jersey worn by the top rider under 25 years old-fashioned. Second best in any category get you squat!

You might also notice that a rider will own a yellow number on his jersey instead of the average white one, and that is given for the previous day's most aggressive rider. The numbering for the team is interesting as well. The troop with end year's winner (or the top troop overall) gets bib numbers 1 through 9 for its nine riders.

The subsequent team get 11-19, then 21-29, and so on. There are no #10, #20 etc numbers within the Tour.
