Costs to ship a Mnt bike from USA to Canada?
Question:Hello, I want to ship a mnt bike from Boston to Ontario, Canada.
I was playing next to Fedex rate calculator & it shows approx $190 to ship a 40lb item. I selected the slowest confinement option, as I'm not within a hurry (I'll have snow on the ground up here soon).
$190 seem steep to me. Has anyone shipped any bikes & what did you pay? Who did you use?

$190! FROM MA TO THE MAPLE LEAF!! I'm within CT and I have done some frame shipping to Canada in the past and it has solitary ran me roughly 30-45 depending on frame weight...I use USPS

Also check on FedEx Freight. That should be cheaper. Then there's UPS. Don't know what it would cost but you could disassemble it and convey through the US Post Office via parcel post.
wow.that is expensive.I own a bike shop and build bikes and i never charge that much to ship anywhere, especially not to canada. Try Fedex or UPS. Plus, doesn't your mountain bike weigh more than 40 lbs? $190 is to much.try UPS. suitable luck

as long as you have strong hooks, most bikes will be fine. Home Depot sell industrial strength hooks that thread into the ceiling [best if threaded into a stud] for about $3 respectively.
if you have hydraulic brakes, consequently it might allow air to enter into the system, since these bikes are not intended to be inverted.
other than that, move about for it! i have 4 bikes baggy like this contained by my garage. its a great way to save bikes out of the way. if you havent put the hooks contained by yet, do them one by one and hang up each bike up after respectively hook is installed. this way you can determine how much space you stipulation for each bike.
I would seize two hooks and hang it from both wheel, that way you spread the pressure between both wheel instead of leaving it adjectives on one.
