Cycling Questions and Answers

Does anyone enjoy any tips on biking?

Question:I mean for stability, breaks and stuff or where on the internet I can find a biking book. Thanks, no insults please
Answers:

First of adjectives, depending upon the type of riding that you're planning on doing, I would recommend a hybrid type bicycle that's from a bicycle shop. This means that you hold a mountain bike frame, 700 mm wheels (larger wheels), 27-gear list, and a much lighter package that you could catch from a retail store. Next, have them fit you to the right size bike and report to them the type of riding that you will be doing. Why I recommend a hybrid, I can run 700 mm wheels next to less tread for commuting (l live sour a rail trail) to and from work, next put 650 mm wheels beside more aggressive trail for riding. In theory I hold two bikes in one bag. My bicycle is a Cannondale with a herald shock for front suspension and a cane creek form post to absorb the shock of riding on the form. I have rode from New York to California next to this bike and it still serves me well after 10, 000 + miles. Because of my love of biking and my dedication to the sport, I would love to share any insights I own that may help you or answer any question that you would like to ask. Please Email me at discgolfforever(a)myway.com and I will answer you as soon as possible.
You have need of to supply a bit more detail. What sort of biking? Do you mean cycling or motorbike riding? If cycling, do you indicate tips on handling, ride, maintenance, technique, skills, fitness, touring, race, equipment etc?

A good common book about adjectives aspects of cycling is Richard's Bicycle Book.
Yep. Male sure both wheels are inflated.

Biking Enderance Question- Is this a right opinion or not?

Question:I meet up beside a group of racers very untimely in the mornings. I hold been competent to keep up next to them...but it hurts sometimes. They meet almost 6.5 miles from my house. I want to make this as natural on myself as humanly possible. Would I be better off riding the 6.5 miles nearby and therefore warm up before I congregate with them, and next riding the extra back home as cool down..or would I be better stale just round-table them there. Or parking a touch closer..say 2-3 miles. I guess my valid question is what is the idyllic length that I will be warmed up...however not adding extra miles and as a consequence pain to a ride that I'm allready the weakest rider at?
Answers:

Many, tons factors.

I myself similar to warming up. I hold to ride 4 townships (which is 6 miles) to meet my riding buds. I close to this warmup very much, because it get my legs warmed up.

It seem like you are fit satisfactory, then I guess the two factor that are most important is 1) the weather (heat), and 2) speed vs. get-up-and-go questions.

I don't know where on earth you live and ride, but if the weather is too hot, then you might own to reduce your warmup miles. Second, it depends on how your strongest rider within your group will be riding that day. Is he/she going to tack hammer and intend to get contained by hard riding, or obedient consistent riding. If it's hard and the weather is HOT, afterwards I'd reserve your stored energy as much as possible for the ride itself. Don't want you to get hold of a heat stroke.

Other than that, I'd read aloud, never...ever put yourself to be the weakest. After all, this is a competitive factor (although possibly small) and fun of riding a group ride isn't it? It is a small victory and milestone you can cart away from the ride. Don't you think? Being strong at the END of the ride is what you want within a long ride. Of course, you're in a controlled and sanctioned race.

Well, cheers and good riding!
I usually thaw out up for about 20 minutes up to that time I start picking up the pace, so I suggest parking closer, and biking at an straightforward pace to run into them. Chances are they are already warmed up when you touch them, so you should be too.
just park your motor a few miles up... (2-3-4) dont work yourself to hard... even if your going to enjoy to walk/run with them...
PEDAL TO THE RIDE!!

Here's why:
1) It's the biker approach.
2) It will make you stronger
3) You merely keep riding next to that group, eventually you'll be up at the front hammering. If you don't push yourself, how do you expect to get stronger?
every mile you make the addition of to your ride will make you stronger and faster

it simply takes some time to build up your staying power

remember to take a afternoon off once contained by a while for recovery

as for the strain, is your bike fitted/adjusted properly? if not, bring back thee to your local bike shop for help...
Don't chase that rabbit ;-) Pedal within. Here's why. Before you can begin working on strength ie: faster climbs and sprints you should hold a solid base of bottom miles. So right now concentrate on distance. Later on beside a base you'll make the addition of drills for speed and climbing. Without a base your fitness will sorta collapse.

Take a rest hours of daylight, do recovery rides if you are idea tired.
If it's not too much additional time, ride to the start. Take your time, turn as slow as you're comfortable with. It should almost be BORING!

This will go and get more base miles within for you and also let you reheat up better. I'm getting older, and I find that although I can really tack hammer for about an hour I can travel all sunshine if I get a pious 5-10 mile warm-up.

Question:I really want to learn how to bmx but my parents give attention to it's dangerous. How do I convince them to tolerate me bmx?
Answers:

It's not as dangerous as they reckon. It's only as risky as the tricks you attempt to do. For instance if you do bar spins adjectives day afterwards bmx isn't dangerous. However,if you start trying flip whip then it is extremely harmful. Just try flatland bmx. Not as popular but i used to ride flat and it's really great just take a lot of practice compared to other styles.

Setting a Schwinn Bicycle Speedometer?

Question:It is a two button model. Seems newer (but is red and not silver) and has something like 12 functions. I recently changed bikes and I need to set that four digit number for my current bike. Does anyone know how? I know it's a bit of math, though in what units of measurement? Thanks for any help!!
Answers:

I found the most accurate way is by putting my valve stem directly over the crack in my garage floor at the six-o'clock position. Then I push my bike so the wheel moves exactly one revolution. I mark that point with a felt tip pen. I then measure from the starting crack to the felt tip pen mark in inches. (If you are already in a metric unit country, you can skip the "inches" part and measure directly in millimeters.)

Then I take my measurement and go to a metric conversion website and convert from inches to millimeters.

If you need help resetting those numbers, hold down on both buttons for about five seconds. The unit will go blank, then it will flash a default setting, usually something like 2242. This is where you will calibrate your unit.

FYI, the way it works is it calculates the wheel's RPM and the calibration number to calculate how fast the bicycle is moving.
