Cycling Questions and Answers

Do individuals close to Landis enjoy no self respect?

Answers:

yes. They Have no respect for there bodies. They wanna win. Its a devout passion but cheating isnt one.
People who are at the top rank of any sport of very competitive, (especially near themselves). Whether or not Landis cheated, it is likely that he normally works his body to the breaking point and that he is willing to help yourself to risks and chances to gain better, (he broke his hip in a desperate cycling accident effective his home while training almost three years ago). I think he have self-respect, (his comments Saturday showed a great deal of self-admiration).
There are competitive people and there are "surrendered" competitive folks. The "competitive person" has a moderately clear line drawn within his/her head that neutral play should be fair play. However, the "surrendered-competitive person" doesn't hold that fairly clear procession drawn up in their head (although could have have it earlier within their lifetime but not anymore). I make this distinctions between these two "factions" of competitive those, because I'm sure a majority of competitive persons want to play even-handed because this is a level of keeping their pride. However, here are Elite athletes whome have because they hold "surrendered" to the notion of "WIN AT ALL COSTS" and "(doping) is just a mode to an end...and this train is the only piece that matters". Plus, when you've been unbeaten all your job, maybe some own the ego to support this notion with "logical" explainations to take home him/her self go through near it - no matter the risk.

So, my answer is that for these folks, they have a immensely solid level of Self Respect. Because they enjoy made it an answer to a question that they HAD to solve.

People close to Floyd are very competitive associates. They win. They've been unbeaten for years. Unfortunately, for Floyd (and all convicted users of dope surrounded by sports) were "caught". This stigma will follow them throughout their job and maybe after they own passed. Which is the more cruel part of cheating contained by an Elite sport such as pro cycling.

I do feel desperate for them. For I think they (all of the caught athletes) could hold done what they did, without any illegitimate chemical support.

Cheers all, correct riding!

What species of daddy bicycle should I buy for my husband who is 6'5" (frame size etc.)?

Question:He's already got a nice mountain bike but if we step downtown he doesn't want to leave it parked where on earth pieces can get stolen. I want a midpriced sizeable frame bike (I don't even know what sizes they come in) that is upright for riding around with kids contained by bike seats... (I enjoy a 1985 Schwinn Cruiser)
Answers:

Most MTB frames these days are sold within small, medium, or sizeable sizes with some comapnies selling variation on the three (i.e. xs, xl, etc) At 6'4" he'll definitely inevitability a large or extra huge. At his size, you'll also need to accomodate proper fit by seatpost height above sea level and stem length and rise.

stem - the thing the switch bar mounts to

length - all along the stem in cm or mm

rise - amount of rank change from one wrapping up of the stem to the other in degree.

If you're looking at an older style bike which measures the frame size within inches, you'll need at smallest a 23.

If the bike does not have ample seatpost length, or stem rise/length, your local bike shop can order the correct size and put them on for you unless you want to try it yourself. I would insist on against this unless you have previous experience is proper bike fit.

He'll spend more time riding a cheap bike that fits ably than an expensive bike that is humiliated.
If he already has a mountain bike, you should look at a hybrid bicycle. A hybrid is essentially a corssover between a road and a mountain bikle. It will be a bit more relaxed than any and very sturdy. primarily, they are designed for cruising on local roads - markedly much like the loving of riding your describe.

If your still contained by trouble look up brake servicing on this site.

If your still in trouble pinch it to your local bike shop. It may cost more to fix it properly than the bike is worth.

DO NOT RIDE IT WITHOUT A WORKING BRAKE

Wal mart bikes are not built to last. There is a soaring chance that masses other failures are merely around the corner.

You are obviously doing satisfactory cycling to justify a restrained quality bike. This is the cheapest selection in the long run.

Good luck and hang on to cycling.
there is no possible passageway for a human wiht no experience to do that i tried
That's way too contained by depth to diagnose in this forum, and near may be other problems that require parts replacement, e.g. corroded cables or pivots, stripped adjustment, etc. Take it to a bike shop before you massacre yourself.
it sounds like your brakes are lose, merely tighten them.
I agree with others that this may be a problem that a qualified mechanic should address. However, it could be a amazingly simple issue. Depending upon how old the bike is and how it's be stored, the cable in the housing may be rusted or binding. Try squirting some lubricant within both ends of the housing and on the moving parts of the brake - not the rim or brake pad :)

This could be a immediate solution. Unforutnately, it could also be the spring tension of the brake or a imperfect brake lever. Those would be more expensive.
