Where can i find fundamentally cheap used bikes around san jose, ca?

Answers:

Try a local bike shop and see if anything is sold on consignment. Also, check the pawn shops but think twice that it won't fall apart on you on the first ride out...

By the bearing, how much are you talking something like when you say cheap? 100 or smaller amount? 200?
Try Craigslist
there are several LBS that provide used bikes, and Craigs can be good. You want to do your best to avoid the desperate karma of buying a hot bike on Craigs, so you need to know the flea market to do that.

Your best bet for the best prices are the velo swaps. There is a huge one in SF and other cities call "The Velo Swap" that happens contained by October but next weekend is.

Trips for Kids 15th Annual Bike Swap & Sale will be held Saturday July 15 at Mill Valley Middle School, 425 Sycamore Ave, Mill Valley CA.from
10 a.m. 4pm.

The Swap attracts thousands of cyclists and hundreds of
vendor each year and features a huge inspection of bikes, bike equipment and clothing all at Flea Market prices. For more information look in

http://www.tripsforkids.org

they also sell bikes. bike equipment and clothing at:
BikeThrift Shop at 610 Fourth Street.

yep, there's a bike thrift shop
For further
information, bid 415/458-2986.

This veloswap is a good basis (this one benefits trips for kids ) and it's the single best ways to get devout deals on bike stuff.

There are lots of these swap meet through the year in several areas. Check your LBS for times and dates.

The two big ones here are this one and Veloswap which happen in October and usually is at the SF cow palace.

If you entail anything for your bike, from water bottles to a in one piece new bike...these meet are your best deals, much better even than craigs or e-bay not with the sole purpose for the prices but you meet the salesperson (none of the possible bad karma that go with buying "hot" gear frm craigs or flea market)

it's obedient stuff and good stuff cheap.

For instance: i necessitate a new helmet soon and my dated one, a Giro top of the line retails $120.00 . I get it for $20 from the Velo Girls team at velo swap.

Need unsullied bottle cages for my MTB, the weak ones retail for about $12 get them for $1 at velo swap etc (the fittings are loose, that's why I'll replace).

How do they do it?
well, swap meet are often combinations of:
* e-bayers and Craigs folk beside great legitimate deal
* bke shops with their demo and floor models, bikes beside a dent or ding, last years models, returns, trade ins.
* mfr's beside last years models " ......"
* see teams who are "paid" contained by gear to keep their amateur status, it's not necessarily stuff they want (sponsor supplies ____ so they wear ____, so they can't use ____) so they provide it to support the team or for charity

If you're a newbie rider hook up beside veteran rider for "shopping advice"
Go to Home Depot, get the biggest duet of heavy duty bolt-cutters you can find.

Go to any college campus. Take your pick.
Cheap bikes is what Wal-Mart, K-Mart and Target stores get rid of. Cheap in price, level and assembly.

Inexpensive is a used quality bike from a fitting dealer. Even later expect to pay a few hundred dollars.

Check some garage sale. Sometimes you get lucky.

Trek 4300 vs. Gary Fisher wahoo vs. Giant yukon. Which is the best?

Question:I'm considering buying one of these bikes and want to know which is the best deal. I'm purely starting to mountain bike.
Answers:

GF has the renowned Genesis Geometry... http://www.fisherbikes.com/utility/gloss...

Trek - in good health, they own Gary FIshe but, besides that... How many bike companies own been around for 30+ years..? How frequent of those have be ONLY family owned and operate companies...? Trek is taking GREAT strides to keep their title as the industry's prevailing bike company/manufacturer - the product speaks for themselves.

Giant... Giant is big because their main point is that they own most of the factories contained by Asia... Simply put, they know how to make a great bike... when you explain to them "HOW" to make it. These bikes do hold a less expensive MSRP(Notice I did not influence Cheaper - the bikes are still good!)but need in discretion.

Bottom line - Do not buy the bike on Derraileur alone - ride the bikes and MAKE SURE it fits and consistency good.

The sweetness of the cheaper price is really distant to the dis-satisfaction of the long term problem/failure.
Those are adjectives VERY good bikes. At this point, if you can't desire by ride quality, you could without risk by the one that has the lowest price.
I am in fact making the same choice at this point, and choosing between the GF and the Trek.

I vote it depends on how you plan to ride on the bike, what mix of trails, bike paths, commuting, etc.

Go and sit on respectively bike, and see how it feels. If you compare the specs between the Trek and the GF, adjectives of the equipment is almost identical except for the front shock and the frame geometry.

I instinctively didnt like the position of the GF for the type of riding I do, but if you do lots of trails it might suit you better depending on your increase and body type.

Go try them all out and step by feel.
Trek 4300 I hold a Trek 3900 they are wonderful!
But they are all nice bikes so as the other personage said above you may now a short time ago want to go beside the best price or the best color. Best of luck! :)

Which bmx bike brand is better, diamondback or dk?

Answers:

dk
diamond back is a * bike brand. for a moment while ago they might have be good. but their feature isnt very upright.
diamonback
dk.
dk but dk can be cheap also
Both my boys were on dk righter of wrongs for yrs and then just this minute switched to intense frames. MCS can get the frames for you they are comparable beside crupi and stats as far as weight is concerned they are just about 3lbs. They majorly are used on the west coast but are becoming much more popular over on the east coast too.
A Diamondback
I would defiently go beside a DK because all of DK's products are made next to higher power than diamondback.
