What is a apt average speed for bike race?? (cat 5)?
Answers:
maybe 25mph.
If you can average 28 to 30, you are right where on earth you want to be. But remember to alternate your days and speeds, with intervals every other daytime.
The average speed on the flats in the TDF is 34 mph or so.
(Brzo, I am discussion the avg on the FLATS, not the overall Tour)
For a cat 5, I would say 22 to 25 during a see. I average that and I am pretty competitive. And by the way, the average speed at the TdF is not 34 mph. The fastest avg be 25.882 in 2005.
Bike race are not won by average speed. They are won by bursts of peak speed, and by longer section of "threshold" speed.
Work on your sprinting (15-30 seconds authentic max), and 2-5 minute intervals "above threshold" for best effect.
If you're young you can toy with 3x week of these workouts. No more. If you're over 35 like me and you own a real work, 2x/week is all you can knob.
Group rides are good, but lone 1x/week. The other times, you want to control the structure.
25 avg but should be able to uphold 33 in the flats for a few minutes
Full suspension bike and no suspension?
Question:is there anything that a bike next to no suspension is better than one with full suspension? is bike next to no suspension outdated or just cheaper nowdays?
Answers:
I'm assuming you miserable for a mountain bike riding in trails. On pavement, no suspension is better than suspension, but on the trails, it's the other process.
Suspension makes the wheel stay in touch near the ground on more situations, so you have better traction and manufacture riding safer at speeds. A full suspension is actually faster at longer distances than a hardtail (bikes beside only front suspension). Some XC pros are starting to choose FS over HT for longer rides, and cut of this is because newer designs are getting better and they are more confortable, which leaves the riders near more energy at the closing stages.
Now, there are different intrinsic worth in suspension (forks and shocks). Good suspension will construct you go faster and safer, and regardless of traditional legends, will not sap your drive, actually shooting up traction on hard places and not give a hiding you up on the long run, which will make you hold more energy for longer rides.
Low come to an end suspension will probably be not as good.
Some relations are going back to single-speeder, rigid mountain bikes though.
But, as to which is better, suspension is better, and on an upward curve. Originally FS were for downhill riding, but okay, originally, bikes weren't designed for mountain use, but now we use them for it.
Also, at first, downhill bikes have a whooping 5" travel, now some trailbikes are beside 6", and downhill rigs have 8 to 10", times hold evolved and improved.
One would assume that a frame suspension spring would hold your attention some of the energy from peddle.
if u want speed then no suspension is definetly what u want. if u want comfort nd aren't that bothered in the order of going fast, or want to step offroad alot. to be honest, your best bet is front suspension. it stops your seat bouncing up and down, which is something i repugnance about full suspension, and give u a bit of comfort yet still allowing speed
it depends on what you would resembling to do with it. if you cycle essentially on concrete or tar road, best to get hold of a bicycle with solely front suspension. but if you like to travel to terrains, its better to bring back a full suspension cycle. check out all the bicycles first becuase the shop might get rid of you 2nd hand bicycles if you want a brand trial bicycle.
Generally speaking the Hardtail is the best choice for off road riding, (front Suspension) The full suspension bikes get hold of used and I believe were developed for down hummock riding. Trying to ride a Full suspension off road really isn't a accurate idea, surrounded by trying to pedal a FS you create what is known as gearstick hop and you lose traction and power to the rear helm.
As far as the Hardtail or a no suspension bike being outdated, they are not. They newly have different uses.
Full suspension bikes are patently NOT better than those with front or no suspension..they are built for a different purpose.
Keep within mind that whenever you pedal a full suspension bike the frame flexes. When this happens some of your zest is absorbed and instead of it going to the support wheel to move forward it is "lost" to the flex. Also, remember that suspension is to hold on to your wheels planted on the ground for better handling, not neessarily for comfort. Don't buy a full sus bike for comfort.
In my evaluation full suspension is suited only to the most extreme riding...the bikes you see at WalMart near full suspension are NOT for any type of off road use... within is a sticker on most of them that say this, and the rest right to be heard it in the owners booklet.
There is a power bleed off when you hold suspension. This is why Race XC bikes have individual 80mm on the fork.
To overcome this, some full sussers have a form of traction control (Scott Genius).
Rigid forks are best for road use. No power bleed sour. Many forks now come next to lock out. This can sometimes be controled from a handle public house switch. This makes hill easier.
However, if you are looking for a plush ride, especially XC or if going downhill, suspension is a must.
Note: If climbing XC, eg field work, full sussers may be better as you maintian contact and, consequently, traction and can power up hills.
Luck
No suspension is upright for going up and fast. Most road bikes don't own suspension. so it depends on what kind of riding you are doing.
How much will the French disgust it when an American win the tour again?
Question:Victoire Floyd, Victoire !
Answers:
A LOT. Hahaha.
there already planning "doping" allegations.
Who care...they are the the French...they dont need a rationale to hate us.
and who care what the french think going on for anything?
hey i'm french and i can tell you most of the allegation for the dopping be made by american , of course the french made some report too . but anyway within america with us it's damn you watever you do , damn you watever you don't do .but mate i can relate you that if you come in france some sunshine you'll be very resourcefully received ( can't say impossible to tell apart the other way arous but hey :) )
we don't agree near your governement that dosn't mean we don't similar to americans. we were one of the first to aid new orlean during catrina , and also more than 100 american enjoy been evacuated from lebanon by the french ..
so cheer up mate and come to europe some days...
btw : amstrong be one of the best , too bad " if " he doped
They will disgust it immensely!
Go Floyd!
Go Levi!
Are you kidding, I am pulling for Floyd too but how will you perceive feel if a Spaniard win. 2 more stages to go.
Probably not too much because they already know they own no chance specifically why they only vigilance about stage win.
As long as it's not an American, they'll be happy.
london_aa_mm, You are wrong around the french helping out the most. Americans gave to their own race with the largest aid of all time comparable to 911. We nick care of our own when desperate situations arise. Don't wake up the sleeping Bear. The people from Georgia and Texas especially help the New Orlean's people out the most. We still hold a vast majority of their population living next to us. And, you only help at all because you skilled them about Mardi Gras and they be once a french territory. (I can be indicate, you stinky frenchie...I have French blood too. :P)
It's ridiculous, they won't pocket it bad. You know Armstong be a cheater (see the LA Times) because he was dopping, that's why the French cidn't similar to it when they learnt more or less this. However, don't get me wrong, they will be pleased if the best racer win, even if he is an American. The French really loved Greg Lemon who won the Tour in his time and he be American as well.
