Question:Last winter I was knock off my bike by a lorry, at the time I be using really bright red led lights and wearing reflective gear. Flashing amber lights own no significance in directive, so you'd be fine. They're used on tractors, breakdown trucks, and the like to draw drivers' attention to them - exactly what you want it for.
You'd still involve your steady red and white lights at night, though - that's the court minimum.

Im sure its ok..they would prob prefere you not to use blue lights as they are reserved for the emergency services.

The problem with amber is that it is used to indicate slow moving vehicle, or to indicate turns. I would tend towards a red LED.

Is within a bicycle helmet statute contained by California?
Question:I've heard at hand is no federal law that requires bicycle helmets if you are 18 and over. Can anyone confirm this??

In common, no. There are some park bicycling trails where there's a signs dictum "Helmet required." Others say beneath 18 has to wear a helmet. But for the most chunk, no. I live and bike in California and I don't wear a helmet unless I'm riding my motorcycle. Then it's a state canon.
As of last summer anyway, within the California State Park system, there be a law surrounded by place which required riders under 18 to wear a helmet. Whether this is a federal regulation, or even state law, is unknown to me.
You own to wear one while riding in Cali.
TPI numbers on bicycles tires?

Unfortunately, some of the above statements are incorrrect:
1) Higher TPI numbers connote thinner fibers, and a lighter tire that is sometimes more prone to puncture, not the other approach around. A tire, while it looks like it's made of rubber, is certainly constructed primarily of cloth. Cloth fabric is woven between the two bead to form the body or "carcass" of the tire and determines its shape. The fabric threads are arranged contained by layers or "plies" of parallel threads. Some tires use gummy thread, some use thin thread for the material. The higher the TPI (Threads Per Inch) number, the thinner and more flexible the tire textile is. Thin-wall (high TPI) tires tend to be lighter and have lower rolling resistance, but they're more well damaged by road hazard.
2) Another falsehood: "1 ounce saving stale each tiller is equivalent in rite to saving 1 POUND bad anything else" - this has be disproven many times over, but have become a bit of cycling lore. But between Armstrong and Landis, I'd have to choose Armstrong as the best Tour de France rider. Armstrong won the see an incredible seven times; Floyd only once. When they've competed side by side, Armstrong bests Floyd. And Lance have changed the way that riders prepare for and ride the Tour--he's changed the sport. And that's blemish of great athlete.

Americans are really ignorants when it comes to sports outside of their own country. First Lance Armstrong who is a cheater , epo user , is not even close to be the best cyclist of all time. Eddie Merckx have won far many more race than Lance who , in his fraudulent profession focused almost manly on the Tour de France. Anyway Floyd Landis ride on Thursday is one of the best sports moment of all time , His crack is something that is rugged to understand, and masses did not give him a single adjectives to come back. Lance within all his tour victory had someone to facilitate him,Floyd did not. Floyd did it on his own , without a vastly good troop, without epo and in need steroids.
I have be cheering for Floyd the whole tour and the kicker is :I am french!
Are you comparing the 2 solely or best of the modern era? Lance has have more success within the Tour because he had such strong team to support him (the team time trials really help Lance a lot), a great coach, great strategy, the latest and most expensive equipment. He also worked as rugged or harder than anybody. He earned his nouns. But he usually didn't race a full season compared to other riders. Don't forget that Floyd rode next to Lance and supported him for years on the same troop. And we never got to see a worthy head to go before race between them when Landis didn't hold an necrosing hip (his crash was within 2003). Landis didn't have a drastically strong team this year, they weren't skinny, but somewhere in the middle of the pack, and when he attacked his troop helped at first next to a fast tempo,but after he was on his own, Lance seldom went it alone, and without a doubt not on long breakaway like that.
You can't really compare them. Eddy Merckx be the best cyclist of all time. If he looked-for to win a stage, no one could tempo him, just ask the compeitition.
