I used to play football more or less 5hours a week,i be pretty fit,i in a minute wont to nick up mountain biking, fitness??
Question:am i right in asuming that i will own to double up the hours if i ride instead of run
Answers:
If your getting your heart rate up it doesn't matter what type of exercise you do. ( cycling is a upright choice). An hour of cycling at a certain heart rate will work you out exactly duplicate amount as an hour of running at the same rate.
You work most of your bodies muscle groups. (especially mountain biking). It is a lower reciprocal impact sport. You cover a lot more ground so in that is more to see. You can start doing a few of the short trips (and longer ones) where you would hold normally enjoy used your car .
no you don't own to double up on anything because riding is almost like running except your on a bike your moving your foot and if your mountain biking its going to be harder because your going up and up and if its too easy a short time ago change the gears to a highly developed one.
I think that running and mountain biking are different surrounded by several ways. For one, I think you gain a more complete excercise on a mountain bike, since you have to move your full body if you're riding trails, not as much if you are just riding XC on flat kingdom.
Road biking will provide a stronger workout on the legs, I think. Some friends that do both say that road cycling helps them find better at mountain biking because of the excercise. On the other hand, mtb provides better upper body workout (not as much as solidity or other stuff), since you have to shift your body, verbs the handlebars to clear stuff, etc..
Running is running. I don't like it, but some nation just love it.
What's really momentous is choosing a sport that you like, not the BEST real sport. I've tried, during my life, to do different sport happenings, but mtb is the only one I've have for more than 3 years.
But you might find different, though. Just find something you like and maintain at it.

Flip the bike upside down and check under the bottom bracket.
Most serial numbers on bicycles are date coded from the creation. Check with Fuji
Looking for mountain biking and rental shop recommendation in/near San Francisco nouns?
Question:prefer singletrack, moderate technical difficulty, moderate climbing ok, view, scenery, rides "not to be missed" if one is within the SF area
Need a honest shop with fully clad bikes--dual susp preferable--can't take my own
Can't be too much more than a 1/2 year round trip away--got business during working hours.
At this point, I won't have a saloon and will need to rely on public transport/cabs/shuttles.
Would consider getting a motor for a spectacular ride, though
thanks contained by advance for back anyone can provide.

there are plenty of bike rental stores around SF. The store on Stanyan hard by Kezar have a big assortment of bike and I'm sure they have some. If not at hand, you can try the ones near the wharf or the one surrounded by stow lake contained by golden gate park.
forget the touristy rental shops, look to this Peninsula shop, of late south of the city, real bikes, physical bike shop, real honourable service, some of the best Peninsula road and mountain rides nearby:

It's not so complicated. Eat sound. Ride your bike lots. Learn to go speedy on technical trails, how the bike handle at speed, what you can and can't ride over/thru etc.
To get see ready(er), Practice these things:
1) getting started quick from a standing start (one foot on a pedal, other foot on the ground), later haul booty at top speed until you cough up a lung... that's how mtb race start.
2) learn something like "interval" training and practice it, so you can do #1 longer before you cough up a lung.
3) do lots and lots of situps (all kinds) and pushups and stretching/yoga.
4) preserve your bike in top shape.
Have fun, save coming back, you'll capture better. And, why wait till July?
