Off road tyres on bicycles?

Question:I have changed from makeshift slick tyres to basic stale road tyres on my bicycle. Either I am getting older and slower (true) or I'm finding the tyre resistance greater (likewise true) but what I want to know is HOW MUCH difference is near.Is it really significant or am i just smaller quantity fit ???
Answers:

slicks are from a width of 1.95 to a 2, and its usually mimics the road tyre guide and its really easy to cycle especially if its doing a tour, less rolling resistant and better speed,

when you changed those to the rotten road, its meant to be.. ? YES OFF ROAD! i suggest no harm cycling it on the pavement, these rotten road tyres are meant for more traction and stability. So you are truly not getting older or slower, but its the tyres.

Try this .. switch spinal column and forth, you might see a whole lot of difference, if adjectives else fail later tell your self to train harder ! Cheers
Your not smaller number fit. There is a big difference between running a road tire and an off road tire, resistance is far greater near an off road tire and if you're running them on road you'll get hold of a lot smaller number ware. The wife done just the different with her mtb and gain 3 to 5 mph more in speed next to the slicks.

Lots of stuff within here.
As the other have said, slick tires offer less rolling resistance than knobbies. How much? it depends on the tires, how far-reaching they are, knob design, rubber material.

Usually, wider tires tender more rolling resistance (hence, road bikes use very meagre tires, at least, compared to downhill tires ;) ).

Also, the more grippier a tire, will kind it better suited to rough terrain, but less suited to pavement or hardpack. So it's a tradeoff.

Tire test depends on what type of riding you want to do, there's not a black and white guide.
thats normal. i hold have huge knobby tires on my bike and when i hopped on a road bike (it be a crappy one) it felt really different. the difference depends on the size of the tires. slick tires are unforced to ride. going to small knobbies generates more resistance. big knobby tires close to mine cause alot of rolling resistance and receive accelerating harder and give slightly more momentum when braking. your not getting out of shape. you might become stronger using heavier tires, becuase if you own the endurance for substantial tires, then when you hop on a lighter bike, you'll be capable of rocket downt the street.
yes bigger tyers gives more grip and resistance but they can preserve you from breaking ur back falling stale a bike because it's tyres are too thin but it could also be a sign of u should keep fit and cut some counterbalance. the difference is that with road tyres u can be in motion for 50miles on roads but with mtn tyres u max out at 30-35 but equally on off road trails immense tyres mean that you can budge for 50 miles/h down a mtn useing one bandaid or with a road tyre progress for 40m/h and land within the hospital

How do i conveyance my gear cassette on my mountain bike?

Answers:

The first question is "why"?

Unless you are rebuilding the backside wheel or are shifting gear ratios at hand really isn't a need to remove the cassette. However, since you asked.

1) Remove joystick from the bicycle. Remove the quick release (anf if essential, the axle spacers) from the wheel
2) Obtain the correct cassette lockring remover, a fasten whip, and a big adjustable wrench
3) Wrap the cuff whip around a cog
4) insert the lockring remover into the lockring
5) attach the wrench to the remover
6) While holding the secure whip still, turn the wrench counterclockwise to remove the lockring
7) Slide the cassette sour the freehub
Check the new book by the editors of BICYCLING (www.bicycling.com) in a minute available----it will absolutely be thoughtful for ANY rider! It takes like mad of maintenance when it comes to the bicycle's cogs ( freewheel or otherwise)---and I suggest you allow a bike mechanic to inspect your cogset---the availability of 8/9 speed sets from Shimano ( LX Deore and XT,or the high-end XTR ) would be a well brought-up choice---check Price Point (www.pricepont.com)
There's an awesome guide at parktool.com

Removing it is pretty easy if you enjoy the right tools.

Good luck with it!
