HOW TO ADJUST MOUNTAIN BIKE FRONT SUSPENSION?

Question:ON A RALEIGH BIKE
Answers:

Keep in mind that suspension is to maintain your wheel on the ground for better handling, not necessarily for comfort so most suspension will get the impression pretty stiff. Also, note that most bikes are set up for a 170 pound rider from the factory and various less expensive shocks can't be familiar. More on this below.

To determine whether you need a shock adjustment, place ALL your freight on the handlebar. Have someone make a engrave on the shock stanchion so you can see the amount the shock compresses once you release the weight. Remove your immensity and measure the amount of travel.

For frothy trails, the compression should be something about 20% of the total available (example- a 100mm shock should show a 20mm compression);
For environment trails, it should be about 25% compression;
For rugged trails you shouldn't be setting this up without professional minister to if you don't already know what you're doing.

There are 4 possibilities for adjustment here...

1) If your fork has knob on the top it is a simple matter to turn the knob until the rate you want is achieved
2) If it have caps on the top it could be hiding an nouns chuck. Using a shock pump you could adjust it
3) Some shocks can only be on the same wavelength by changing the elastomers inside and this is something that you shouldn't try unless you own the proper tools
4) Some shocks cannot be adjusted.
It would back us to know which fork is on your Raleigh
this depends on what forks you have but most are pretty similar.

on the top of most forks their is a knob that can be turned to increase or decree rebound pressure. when sit on bike in conventional riding position you should only carry 5-10mm depression and when ride on bumpy ground your forks should never bottom out this is dependent on the manufactures travel guide(60-130mm).on more expensive models their may be a knob for travel adjustment

you can also acquire the springs changed or the dampening rings changed but suggest going to shop for this

at 22 you are about as high-ceilinged as you ar3e going to get minus painful surgery. Sorry.
It could be your genetic makeup too and most males (I assume you are) stop growing within height contained by their early 20s. (20-24) I own no stretching or yoga exercises though.
I will give you what my wife would read out. Personally, I disagree with this...but why not try?

She say if you want to get taller you enjoy to play basketball...a lot! The repetition contained by the jumping motion possibly has some contribution.

I notify her that basketball players are chosen to play basketball BECAUSE they are tall, not because basketball make them tall! But hey, who know!

What type of speed/time pre-eminence can I expect to win from shaving my legs for cycling?

Question:Distance is a 100 mile ride.
Answers:

Shaving your legs will give you an control if you crash and burn. The healing time for road impulsive is less if the hackle is not matted into the wound. As far as aerodynamic improvement unless you are as wooly as big foot it is minimal.
None unless it's psychological and you ride faster as a rsult. Speed is not why cyclists shave their legs, it's to prevent serious injury to the skin if you crash.
i do not believe that you will own any appreciable advantage time- knowledgeable shaving your legs for your 100 mile ride - i shaved for many season of training and racing, and did not ever thought any real time plus
You'd see a greater speed/time advantage by losing 10 lbs (if you enjoy 10 lbs to spare) or riding a lighter weight bike than you would ever see by shaving your legs.
Agree near Desiree.. From experience..boy, changing the gauze beside some hairs stuck to it...worse than the crash itself
0.000023 second a mile! Like everyone else it will make impressively little difference compared to even a weight loss of ounces (ie east a smaller breakfast).

The salvage time if you do shave your legs and then crash will be far faster for resons already stated..

Last entity that may speed you up with shaved legs.. Some men may find you more attractive and start to chase you!! That should afford you a touch more speed!

Good luck with the cut-throat!!

Physically, close to none. Shaving your legs really doesn't offer any aerodynamic assistance that would be noticeable.

However, shaving your legs may extend you a psychological advantage, cause you to ride harder than you normally would.

If you plan on shaving, don't lurk until the night earlier your event or you will suffer the consequences of having vastly sensitive legs during your ride!

Hook up bicycle to my power outlet?

Question:is there a process i can lower my electric bill by hooking up a bicycle and trainer to my electric line. im going to train for 3hrs every daytime so i want my money's worth
Answers:

Yes you can do it
If you ride at a rate equivalent to 20 mph(on the road) you will generate around 200 watts of power if you do this for five hours you will generate about one kilowatt hour of get-up-and-go. (Roughly 20 cents worth) so you will save something like 80cents a week.

Still interested?

A simple generator you could probably put together for around 100 bucks.

Still interested?

Do a google or yahoo search on pedal generator you should come up with the constructive information.

On the plus side you will also generate around 833 watts in boil.(If your body is about 24% updated like most) so that will squirrel away you about $3.30 a week (if your running an electric heater)
Unless your cross is Lance, don't bother...You won't get enought power to standard lamp a light bulb for partially an hour...
you could power your tv...start googlin'
Train in the threatening it wont cost you anything, and if you are training 3hrs a Day you are going to spend more money on special dietary food to keep your body within good robustness
