Making the purchase on a bike, location and cost of the bike?
Question:Hello everyone,
I've yet to be paid a decision on a bike, as I've simply just begin looking into bikes --but I've got some concept as to what I'll buy. Likely I'm looking at a hardtail (front suspension only), $400.00-$500.00.
First question, for a used bike, is front suspension hardtail the best tap for my buck? I can scale wager on from my $400.00-500.00 in writ to get a better bike at a next time -- remember, I am a beginner and hold little experience in the world of mountain biking.
Second interview, I have a dilemma, and it have to do with WHERE I'll be purchasing my bike. Right presently craigslist (local) and pinkbike.com are looking like my best option; however, all things considered, if these are not the best option, I would CONSIDER ebay -- but I live in Ottawa, Canada... so the shipping fees to here would be exorbitant... much too much to trifle near. Unless there is a short-fix alternative? Am I doomed to shop local?

If your looking for suggestions tolerate me first say don't spend alot of money on your first bike. From experience I can communicate you resale on mountain bikes suck. So buy cheap or used until such time as you know you're going to stick with the sport.
Another suggestion would be to stay away from full suspension ( FS )unless your riding downhills, I found you lose alot of power and traction to the stern wheel, it creates whats agreed as wheel hop and if you're riding trails you will be standing on your bike or pedals anyway so it isn't needed. A front suspension hard-tail is the best crash for my buck IMO.
The other thing would be too formulate sure you get a apt front suspension, it can make adjectives the difference in the world to your ride and how you're going to surface at the end of the days ride.
As far as your second cross-question or dilemma, I'd say craigslist would be your best bet, here locally. I just sold to road bikes on that index and I did see several MTBs listed at dutiful prices.
if your are just starting to ride yes run for hard tail next to front suspension try performance bikes dot com also try e sound or try your local shop that might be your best bet and ounce you start riding you will be hooked.
dang
What kind of bike are you looking for? Road, MTB? However, in the region of WHERE:
There are many sites on the internet. My friend's brother built his out of parts from tons sites. It works, but it costs a bit more. However, you get the parts you want and it's not too difficult. Good luck!
First past its sell-by date, yep get a complicated tail. You get more goodies for you money at that price inventory. You will need to spend profoundly more before you obtain a decent full susser.
Second. The consideration for buying from a dot com is set up. If they assemble, but don't set up, you will call for to build this into cost.
Sounds like you want XC, so I would try Giant, as they hold the dealer networks. Your other choice is E-Bay. Even with postage it is worth it, escpecially buying from US. Your other resort is the Canadian Rocky Mountain. Good bikes, but expensive.
Is Landis guilty?
Question:With all the recitation enhancing drugs on the market, I can apprehend the temptation to use these drugs by competing athletes. Cheating have existed for many years but have not until recently reach this technical stratum. As an Ultramarathoner, I have thought something like trying some of these drugs but dismissed the idea because, first, I did not want to cheat, and secondly I would challenge and nulify the integerity of the sport.
I also ride mountain bikes. To me, mountain biking is so much more friendly than traditional road bike riding and competing. The versatility and durability of the mt. bike is superior to the road bike and the rider is MUCH more friendly and lacks the egotisical arrogance of the road bike person. Most road bikers are rude and disrespectful doing a tour and demand unearned respect. Sometimes when I see them doing a tour, I crash into them, and ride off near a rear quick look to insure they are well destroyed! Landis is one of those arrogant AH's.

Floyd did not enjoy elevated testosterone levels, as one would expect if he have been doping, what he have was a dignified ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone, both were at lower level than normal, but the level don't matter, it's the ratio they testing for. When levels are that low, the ratio are more pronounced.
And the test doesn't embezzle into account that Landis have been taking on a daily basis cortisone shots to help his bleak hip, and he also takes hormones for a thyroid condition, and those medication play hell with his endocrine system.
When he's proven innocent, I solely hope you are as vocal and forthright within your apology as you are in your summons.
Do you have any words nearly the German Ullrich and the Italian Basso, the *actual* cheaters that were caught beforehand the race and prevented?
Lets wait for the results of the B lab sample before endorsement judgement. The press has blown this path out of proportion.
If the tests indicated that he took EPO, or be blood doping, I would think he's guilty. But, since steroids unanimously aren't the "drugs of choice" for cyclists, I'm thinking he very in good health might be innocent. By the way, lots of athletes enjoy failed initial test for high testosterone level, and were subsequent cleared by the B Tests. I'd say there's a pretty slim unpredictability that he will be convicted, but people will other speculate, which is the unfortunate article.
Now Lance on the other hand IS a doper. I hold no doubts at all nearly that.
You are a troubled person. First, you ask innocently whether Floyd is guilty and afterwards you go into a incoherent spiel about cheating and your disdain for roadies. You enjoy the audacity to hurl a slur at Landis, but it's unlikely that you ever met the man in character or have prearranged him long enough to brand name such a disdainful appraisal of his character. You boast of the superiority of mountain biking and consequently brag about the hurt you've inflicted on other cyclists because of some perceived slight you've feel from them. Your words are rash and green and reflect an irrational contempt for others that suggests some type of psychosis. You should aim professional help from a counselor or psychologist.
Your rant is most promising an attention-getting device, and you have succeeded contained by getting my attention. I will report you to the moderators of these forums because you deserve nothing smaller number than the same scoff you would reserve for Floyd or other people you don't know. I'd pity you but I hold no place in my heart for general public such as you.
Not Guilty
It seems firm to show Landis is innocent, and increasingly easier for some to argue his guilt. I am talking of US doctors and sports commentators who enjoy been feature in US word sources. I think some folks supporting Landis should immediately do the mature piece and re-evaluate their stance. I know it sucks.
Well, I think your first paragraph doesn't own anything to do with your second paragraph.
Are you dictum that all mountain bikers are saints and mellow and non competitive? I'm sure that's not true. More courteous? I don't know. Aren't near "territories" and "turfs" within the mountain biking culture- close to in surfing? I don't know. But I would see in your mind`s eye.
Anyways, Landis was a pro mountain biker beforehand switching, hope you know, and a very fitting one.
And when you say, "...As an Ultramarathoner, I hold thought about trying someof these drugs, but dismissed the model..." just proves that you are one a competitor and being ambitious. Most of us humans are resembling this.
But I do agree, that when doping is done, in any sport (Baseball, Athletics, Skiing, Marathon running, Triathlon, Football, etc.) it in recent times brings the sport down.
I guess you are suggesting that people who dope, are mortal too selfish and not doing things for the betterment of their sport? Is this right?
Whatever it is, it's a complex issue and we should not put judgement, a short time ago yet. We'll see if the UCI and WADA can PROVE (they hold the burden) that Floyd did it.
Cheers and good riding!
What is a flawless mountain bike to get hold of for a learner?
Answers:
First off, you want to consider your short possession and long term capability. Do you plan on getting good surrounded by a short amount of time and needing an upgrade? Do you plan on using it for a rec tool and hold no plans on advancing? If you plan on advance in the adjectives, get a bike that have some room to grow, but not too much in lingo of high-end parts. You can get a apposite bike for a medium budget that will be just the thing for beginner to intermediate riders. Ebay is a great place to find slightly used bikes due to oodles people notion the need to upgrade bikes every year or two. Look for a Trek, Cannondale, Gary Fisher, Specialized next to LX components and you won't pay more than 400-500 dollars for a low mileage bike. Good luck!

If you're over 5'4" this means Wal-Mart does not fetch it. Go to a real bike shop. Don't buy your first power bike over the internet.
for a beginner, try a NEXT brand mountain bike...cheap and not fruitless for a beginner. appalling for a real rider though but probbaly ok to start out beside

"browse global, buy local"!
Get yourself fitted first. Go to a respectable shop next to knowledgeable staff.
What is a worthy women's road bike?
Question:I will be doing my first triathlon this Summer, and I need a bike. I am not wanting to spend profoundly of money. Any ideas?
Answers:
Cannondale, Orbea, Giant, Terry (ugly!), Specialized trademark women-specific bikes (and I don't mean step-through frames). I know a couple of women's race teams sponsored by Cannondale and Giant. Terrys aren't see legal as they hold 2 different size wheels.
Trek make alot of their models in what they nickname "WSD" or womens specific design. The geometry is made for womens body styles.

stay home
you may not want to spend a lot of money, but it will be worth the investment to find high competence for the most benefits... a lot of women I ride next to like the Ruby or Roubaix from Specialized. they enjoy different levels, so check em out!
A couple of the Jr. women contained by my son's tri club are racing on the Kona Lisa RD this season - give the impression of being to be very pious value within a women-specific road bike. Dedacciai 7005 frame tubing, FSA compact cranks, Shimano 105 10 spd with Mavic Aksium wheelset. Check next to your racing body for rules on the freewheel - you may stipulation reduced gearing (14-25) for racing. If specifically the case, you may want to draw from it installed when you purchase so that you are training with it/don't hold to install it on race days.
