Bicycle riding clothing varies, They adjectives dont have to wear spankdex and shave their legs only just if they are riders. There are many types of bicyle riders, Bicycles and bicycle styles. The Racer's however choose to shave their legs which shouldnt affect taste if judgement is cast because it not simply helps them near wind resistance it probably give them a clear sence of sleekness.
We used to wear Vision streetwear shorts with huge Haro kneepads and tack hammer shin gaurds..My buddies and I rode Bmx and Freestyle on 20" Bmx bikes, That was contained by the early 80's and Bmx "bicyclists" do not shave their legs, Only the racers or Competition guys and for devout reason.to win
I agree next to you. Then there's the guys who shave their legs to ride their bike as if they are some sort of Olympian and they'll experience wind-drag in the bike lane of the highway. I deduce their "sport" is just an excuse to be that method.
As they really aren't competing, aerodynamics is just an excuse.

I've never heard of a rider shaving legs for aerodynamics. When racers find the invevitable road rash, the bandage come off plentifully eaiser if they're not pulling off fuzz.

Bike clothes are meant to hold you safe, comfortable and VISIBLE doing a tour and some bike clothes look just approaching street clothes (except the people wearing them are getting fit)
Funny I wear the stuff but I don't observe other guys wearing them. I do like when women wear them.

what's a bycycle?
cycling clothing is hugely practical. The shorts need ot be tight so they don't corner in any fragment of the bike and cause you to decline or get intertwined. The shorts also have lining to help your butt not be as sore when you are riding (and after). The jersey is made of fabric that wicks sweat away from your body so you are not drenched and it helps you stay cooler. Its tight so you can be more aerodynamic. It also have pockets in the put a bet on to hold food for those long rides.

It's tighter, that's why it is so revealing. If you are mortified with the thought of wearing clothing i.e. so tight and revealing I recommend finding a pair of athletic shorts that are cut similiar to your riding shorts to prevent chaff and to wear those over your riding shorts/spandex/whatever. As for a top ... wear a t-shirt or get a club fit jersey (a little ill-defined around the gut area) instead of a standard jersey. If you can not find a club fit jersey measure your chest near a seamstress tape and buy a jersey that is to say 2 inches or so larger than the size you would normally wear.
