Whose existence is it anyway? Not yours. Let him find his own life at his own stride. I am a father of 3 young men.
My oldest Matthew required to be an NBA player. He is only 5’10”. In the birth, that didn’t bother him. He shot hoops every day and played his heart out every time he played.
My second oldest Mark, played somewhat, but only when asked.
My youngest Luke be like Mark and would just play if asked. Once in a while they might turn out and play a bit, but never really serious like on a troop.
I think your little brother only just needs for a while space, not pushing. You are pushing him into something he doesn’t like. If you save doing that no matter how sincere you are, he will other pull away from you. Keep it up and you will alienate yourself from him.
Ask you brother what he requirements to do. Once you find out, no matter what it is, as long as it is legalized, say you will stern him. Even if you don’t like his choice.
My son Matthew is going into the computer area.
Mark is going into fabrication and plans to build hotrods from the ground up.
Luke is going into strapping equipment operation and plans to go put a bet on to school after running heavily built equipment for a couple years so he can learn diesel mechanics. His dream? To open his own diesel shop. I am support them all the bearing.
Just because you liked the experience you have growing up, doesn’t mean your brother is going to similar to the same things you did, nor should he own to. Don’t push him away by trying to get him to do something he a moment ago has no interest contained by.
Support his decision and he will love you for it. That is what you should be doing, supporting him, lifting him up.
If you do that, I believe that you will comfort him to be a very productive individual.
That is what I would do.
you shouldnt try to toughen him up, his go will toughen him up when the time is appropiate, he might not want to be a jock , he might be into other stuff, dont try to live his life too.
show him how fun it can be to grasp big and buff tell him that the girls individual like muscled guys
at 14 years outdated he should not weigh 240 pounds. And you don't think he's overweight?? He's lucky to hold a caring brother, but I would concentrate on the bigger problem (no pun intended) and try to gain his weight underneath control. Not being a piece of the football team isn't going to put him at risk for a stroke, heart attack, or diabetes. Being 240 pounds will.
Yup, this isn't "flame" but hold you thought of asking him if he LIKES football. There is also the debate and forensics "team" for the experience and those 'teams' actually require THOUGHT instead of hitting another character. More people do greatness for their thoughts and intelligence than they do for throwing a football.
There is also the HS Band. Once again, a "team" experience that will offer him a adjectives. Everyone loves the guy at a party who can sit down and play song after song at the piano. This cannot be said for the idiot that throws a forward overrun in somene's home during a do.
Let the kid go his own way and march to his own drummer. You are not his parent and your mom's know him better than you do. Sports are not for everyone, maybe you inevitability to accept this.
