I dont focus any one person invented lacross. I would geuss it have evolved, probably over centuries, from ancient cultures. Some of the ancient central american cultures, the Maya come to mind right away, played games that be extremely similar. Although it would not surprise me to find something like it contained by Europe back within the day as all right.
As for the current form, im sure there is someone who get credit for it, such as Doubleday in baseball and Niasmith for basketball. While they find the credit some versions of the winter sport had be around before.
The French missionaries who lived near the American indians in the 1500s observed the winter sport which the French called 'La Crosse'. It be a game invented by the North American indians and it be so rough and violent that it be sometimes used as a substitute for war.
Now those French missionaries be Catholic, which is why you see La Crosse teams and games at most considerable Catholic schools and university.
Lacrosse was invented by Native North Americans.
Lacrosse as it is call is actually a French pet name and given by the French when they started to inhabit Canada after discovery along with the British and the Indians be seen playing it lots. It be seen as a home-grown Indian sport that is pretty dangerous and remarkably fast moving. The Indians of North America, IE: Canada claim it is theirs, American Indians say-so it is theirs and the South American Indians also say it be theirs...I guess the Indians all travelled up and down close to the snowbirds do and the sport went beside them and I believe it is attributed to all the western Indian relatives of N and S America, which is now Canada, USA and the S American countries resembling Mexico etc for the ones who read here and do not know what is determined to be called the Americas of weak times. This add on is not directed at the human being asking the question, but to the ones that usually derive the opinion to say "where on earth is Canada and why is he calling it N America?".
