I am trying out for Cheerleading..?
Question:and uh...the cheers that we are studying all week are sort of not easy and if u dont know em' then ur losing.. I know them...but cant go as quick as I should. And I dont 'YELL' or show "SPIRIT' as well (the same for the other gurls surrounded by the group with me) should i only just give up?
Answers:
If this is something that you really want to do afterwards don't give up. If you still hold time before try-outs later I would suggest getting together with any girls from your group or girls who have be cheerleaders in the recent past and work with them. Let them sustain you out and show you exactly what you can do to improve. That is the best input you can catch, because they are actually within with you.
Write down the words and draw the motions underneath each word so that you enjoy a guideline. Then just save practicing until you are confident that you have it. Watch yourself surrounded by the mirror and even videotape yourself.
Now your spirit... The point of being a cheerleader is self spirited and encouraging the team and the fan so you have to come out of your shell. Do not reason that you're making a fool of yourself, think of it as have fun. You don't have to do profusely of spirit just smile and read out "Go team" or your school colors or something simple approaching that. Also smile, smile, smile!! Smiling is the best spirit you can show! You have to be enthusiastic, even if you're have a bad daylight. If you do happen to mess up, do not bring attention to yourself, do not variety a face or an aggravated nouns, just try to block up by looking at someone else out of the corner of your eyes and then connect right in. You also cannot be afraid to be loud, if you are hushed no one can hear you, and the point is to be hear. You want to yell from your diaphragm, so that you don't hurt your loud cords. I think that once you know and are comfortable beside the wordsto the cheer, you will be more comfortable with your voice.
Hopefully this help, if not tolerate me know and I will help you out as best as I can
Don't afford up! Cheerleading is much more difficult than people construe, but if its something you really want to do you should stick with it.
Spirit is really the most earth-shattering thing, so try to work on that within every cheer you do. In try-outs, show that you're excited by keeping a smile on your face (even if you mess us), cheering loudly and putting "punch" down your movements. If you aren't sure about something, or you don't have a feeling like you enjoy a cheer just right, ask someone on the squad - they usually will be well to help you, and appreciate you taking the initiative to ask.
Good Luck!!
If you know that you aren't yell or showing spirit then try to see it up a notch. If you really want to cheer, after you have to show a touch enthusiasm. If you aren't getting all of them down, next ask another girl to help you out...
If you really want to cheer, don't administer up. I used to cheer and here is some advice: Pep it up a liitle, holler, who cares if you mess up or shift a little slower, and hold fun. Always smile (this is a big part of individual a cheerleader), and if you do mess up just don't endow with up, try to find a point to start again. Wish you luck!
I am trying out for Varsity Cheerleading.?

As a current high school cheer coach, I can tell you what we expect from our girls.
First and foremost we stress academics. Being a good cheerleader requires a great deal of practice, and this can sometimes hurt your grade point average. We always stress that you can't go on in life to make a living at cheerleading.you have to have an education to do that. Girls must maintain a 2.5 or better grade point average or risk being dropped from the squad for a season. If the grade point average is not raised, she is dropped for the year.
As for the actual requirements:
Knowledge of routines, cheers and chants: Know them backwards and forwards.well enough to begin them anywhere in the middle of the cheer. I have seen many good candidates dropped due to the inability to start a cheer at any point in the routine. We teach one cheer, one chant and a pretty complex 1 minute dance routine. The girls are given 3 days to learn this with tryouts on day 4.
Tumbling/Gymnastics to include cartwheel, roundoff, and back hand spring. Girls who can do a tuck usually get extra points.
Flexibility and Posture: Be able to do splits and heal stretch. In a Liberty or heal stretch position, hold your balance for 20 seconds. Extra points are given for girls who can do arabesques or scorpions.
Judges always look for personality and smiles as well as how well the contender keeps their movements sharp and in proper form! No sloppy arms, wrists etc. You can lose lots of points in this area.
The girls must do 3 jumps: herkie, toe touch, 1 other. You can work on these first on the floor.stretching yourself just a little bit more everyday until you have proper form. Then work on taking it to the air. When you have your prep and jump perfected, put 1 pound weights on each ankle and jump with them on from that point on. When it comes time for tryouts, take the weights off...you'll jump higher than ever because you have become used to jumping with more weight!
Most of all, the judges are looking for girls who have the ability to work as a team and engage the crowd to cheer on their school! make the judges feel like cheering with you by engaging them every time you get a chance.
On tryout day, eat a good breakfast...with complex carbs. Go to the tryouts with your hair up off of your face and in a ponytail, little or no makeup and no jewelry. Let them know that you are a serious contender and not there for a beauty contest!

What are the best things to get for skateboards?
Question:hey guys im liza and i wanted to start to skate. I already found the board i want, its an element pro board specialty and its the "tave mix tape". But since its not a complete board im not quite sure what else i need to get and which kinds..
trucks: black/raw, chrome, classic, gold, raw, or trinity?
. which size should i get as well?
wheels: pro or pro featherlight or any certain brands you recomend and size??
what are bearings?
and if i buy a screened grip do i take it to a skate shop and they will put it on for me?
thanks if you answer those questions and is there anything else...
Answers:
Great you're going to start skating! Okay, so I hope I help you a little here...
Trucks: You seem to be listing colors more than brands...
Some good brands are Venture, Independent, and
I think Tensor is good as well as Destructo.. Grind King probably too.
I have Independent trucks, but I've heard that they're kind of heavy.
Colors don't matter, just pick one you like.
For size you NEED to get the same width as the board you picked or you will have big problems...
Since your deck is going to be 7.75 pick 7.75 trucks as well.
Wheels: When I got my board I just picked some wheels that had I design I liked.
I have Spitfire wheels.
I'm not sure how the featherlight wheels work so you may need to ask someone else...
And what the difference is between the size, I don't know myself!
Bearings: They go in the wheels to make them go smoothly.
Better the bearing the faster you can go.
I would recommend one of the Bones brand bearings. Though a bit more costly, they are good quality.
I have the Red Bones bearings.
Grip: I think they will put it on for you... They'll probably charge you some amount of money, hopefully not expensive. Maybe try and find some skaters at your school and ask them for help? Or find some online tutorial and do it yourself.
Here's something you didn't ask...
Risers: These are optional, they're plastic things that go between the board and the trucks. They're supposed to prevent your trucks from bending from too sharp of a turn and then the wheel scratching your board.
Also I think a site called CCS.com will greatly help you.
There you can buy the parts you're looking for. I buy all my stuff from there. They'll have to be shipped, however.
