No ofense but how is auto race a sport?

Question:I just want an explanation of why its on ESPN and things similar to that
Answers:

Endurance and concentration, among other things. ESPN airs many programs that you would probably not consider a sport, including poker, numeral skating, competitive eating, dominoes, scrabble, Magic: The Gathering, automotive shows, movies such as A Season on the Brink and 3, World's Strongest Man competitions and continually bestow Chris Connelly a job for some judgment. I'm sure I'm missing many other examples, as in good health. If you don't like it, don't monitor it.
No offense but your a little dumb. Race vehicle drivers go through a huge workout race for hours, they are better conditioned athletes than your average baseball player.
Ok, there are adjectives kinds of sports. Some are evidently more physically-demanding (football, baseball, hockey, etc.). Some, like bowling, tennis and golf, involve mental strategy more than others. Auto race involves both. It is done at high speeds, and fundamentally close to other cars also going at high rates of speed. Which make it extremely dangerous. Not everyone would know how to do it.

If you have ever gone to a coup¨¦ race surrounded by person, you would be awestruck by the talent, sudden thinking, reflexes, which tons drivers display.

There is so much more to it than just driving lap around a track.
i didnt know it was a sport but i would utter they wud have to budge through some kind of workouts and training to drive that prompt for so long.
Competition is sport. Athleticism is sport. AND commercialism is Sport. Auto racing specifically has adjectives 3. It's on TV because it makes money because millions of general public watch it. I'd close to to see you try to drive 175 plus miles per hour for 4 hours in 120 scope temperatures. Don't assume for a moment that drivers aren't athletes. They train rigorously to withstand the elements that they must endure.
It's on ESPN for one drive. $$ (money) $$
Nascar is a growing 'sport' and economically speaking it was a markedly good declaration for ESPN to make to tag on it to its shows. Have you ever seen NASCAR fan? they own tons of memorabilia. ESPN just needed their hand contained by the money jar as well, and near a TV station like ESPN NASCAR can one and only get bigger and bigger. Although most culture don't consider racing a sport, for some inhabitants it is entertaining and the BRAVO network isn't the best place to own it on TV.
Also saying that they are more athletic than any other sport is stupid, extremely stupid.
Racing is a sport. I tight...it might not be all that fun to examine sometimes... but the drivers really are athletes. Some of the things they go through contained by the race motor are harder than the hits some NFL players go through. I dunno, 160 mph into a wall wouldn't touch good to me.

They sometimes own to be strong enough to steer their sports car around bristol at 90 miles per hour, without power steering. 10 mph on a city road is frozen enough beside no powersteering. That fast, while avoiding and trying to smash 42 other drivers... DEFINATELY a workout on the arms.

They need to stay hydrated within their cars, as it gets to some exceptionally extreme temperatures sometimes. Think of it as the equivilant of you sitting contained by your car next to the windows up for roughly speaking 10 minutes basking surrounded by the 80 degree sun. (I don't recommend trying)

Pit crews necessitate to be fast, and skilled to tuning four tires on a car, saturate it up with gas, and fix as much ruin as possible... all below 15 or so seconds... Auto-mechanics at your typical garage... eh, roughly speaking 30 minutes.

I, myself, think race is very exciting and fun to study... coming from a family near a bit of a racing surroundings (dirt track)... I like it... It can be drastically physically demanding, and difficult to get surrounded by the car week after week.
espn shows adjectives kinds of stuff.

and as far as I'm concerned NASCAR really isn't a sport. poker is more of a sport, and more interesting to examine on espn, than auto-racing.
You are a complete idiot. Why the hell do you go around bad-mouthing other sports?! You clearly enjoy no life!
Just because its on ESPN doesn't even take home it a sport. Spelling bee, hunting, horse racing, go underwater roping, ive even seen meadow mower racing. None sports but ailing guarantee you that Race Car Drivers go through more conditioning than golfers and pool players.
hold You ever tried to drive a car minus power brakes and without power stearing, Then affix the fact that they own to do it for over an hour of sitting in a saloon thats over 100 degrees inside vibrate like crazy. Its one hell of a workout .
First we must demarcate "SPORT", thanks to dictionary.com:
1. an athletic buzz requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive temper, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.
2. diversion; leisure; pleasant pastime.
3. the occupation of athletes who compete for money
4. to amuse oneself by active exercise contained by open nouns or taking part within some game

Lets see if race fits into each definition:
1. Yes. Some skill and physical prowless is needed. And it is of competitive quality.
2. Yes. Its recreational.
3. Yes. They do compete against others for pay.
4. Yes. They do run part surrounded by some sort of game.

Let me utter that i HATE Nascar, so I am not some kind of avid supporter. I guess it is a sport thou, contained by the same sense that poker is a sport.
IF CURLING(SWEEPING ICE TO SLIDE A PLATE ON A TARGET ) IS A SPORT THEN AUTO RACING IS THE KING OF SPORTS! DRIVERS WORK OUT 3 OR MORE TIMES A WEEK AND ARE STRAPPED IN TO A TINY COCKPIT FOR HOURS AT BLISTERING TEMPS , USING MENTAL STRATEGY AND PHYSICALLY HANGING ON FOR THEIR LIVES AS WELL AS ALL AROUND THEM. IT IS A SPORT///// WHEN WAS THE LAST FATALITY IN CURLING? OR GOLF?? OR LONG JUMP OR 99 % OF ALL OLYMPIC S P O R T S ??
If you ever sit down and watched the undamaged race. There is preparation, qualify, pit strategies(two tires or 4)Its like a chess spectator sport! not to mention the physical part of the drive as mentioned contained by other posts
Watch the whole picture not newly cars on a track!
