It all depends on the course and your financial situation, but you dont enjoy to pay like mad to enjoy it...My ethnic group belongs to our local country club and our annual dues are around $15,000 per year. On a public course I typically pay between $50-$90, but enjoy paid up to $400 for a round. Ive be playing the game my entire enthusiasm and love doing it more than just just about anything. To tell you the truth though, Ive have some of my best times playing rounds that only cost $25...Its more going on for who youre playing with and have a good time later the money you spend on the round.
I am an avoid golfer...My club go every where on earth I go...I in actual fact work in the Golf Business...
What I hold paid:
Public - $109 Green Fee and Cart (Arizona)
Semi Private - $75 Green Fee and Cart ( New Orleans)
Private- $385 All Exclusive (Playa Car Mexico)
I currently live surrounded by Arizona the here are the Avg. Prices:

Private - $119
Pebble Beach around is about 400. not to mention awaiting index...I'd pay it .Semi-private course's contained by my city go anywhere from $35- 125..Some are worth it ...some not. I play a nice semi-private course,great shape and the folks at the pro-shop are a great bunch

Public to me manner cheap. I do not care where on earth or how well it is kept. I am solely willing to wage up to $50 dollars for a public course! A public course to me is like an HMO ins company is to a doctor, volume is how to engineer the money. I am never perplexed by a four or five hour round!
Semi-private to me is for the wanna be's. The Wanna be rich people who similar to to say they own a membership (a) "Bla... Bla...Bla..." It is, though; a enormously necessary module of golf for me because it keeps the wanna be's bad the public courses and allows me better tee times - LOL
Private to me mode eleitests. Out price all the general public you do not want playing there. I expect it is terrible to earnings an upwards of $400 or more for a round of golf or to pay contained by the tens if not the hundred of thousands of dollars for a bias to anything let alone a GOLF CLUB! If you enjoy that much to spend on a membership card you are crazy. That $ would be better served by anyone given to charity!!!

he way I apprehend it, they get 7-10% plus perk - Tiger gave his caddy a Mercedes after he made a hole surrounded by one - they make a angelic living but the players they caddy are very demanding since they are the best players contained by the world

I like Tiger I be going to who can't respect the #1 golfer in the world, but if I be to chose between the 2 to be able to play next to it would have to be Phil. He (to me) is the better character to learn from. Phil seem to be so laid back and keep his mind on the shot in front of him. Tiger instead, seems close to he is constantly battling journalists, gallery, reporters, and other subliminals that he shouldn't even worry give or take a few. Its not like none of the other pros don't own trouble with like peas in a pod things and they take it and budge on. They don't fight it.

Tiger obviously, he's half Thai. Has so frequent shots, I think his swing sets the uppermost standard in golf. Phil's swing make me dizzy, it's inverted. Sorry for lefty, I can't figure out everything within reverse at once seeing Phil's swing. A nice guy though.

Erinvale is a great course, Steenberg is pretty and later closer to Paarl Pearl Valley is a treat to play. For a challenge try Atlantic Beach especially when the meander is blowing:)
The Strand is a fun course too
Well the Metropolitan doesnt exist anymore...they are building a football stadium there..within preparation for the World Cup...but
Clovelly Golf Club is just around the mountain..within (near) Fish Hoek
absolutely fantastic course to play.
Mowbray...is nice. Westlake...also really fine course.
Erinvale is a delicate golf course, tucked away at the foot of the Somerset West mountains.

I don't think Atlantic coast is so great - it's got a distant attitude of Table Mountain - not as scenic as the other courses in Cape Town, and there's no rough, just fairway and out of bounds (I normally lose plentifully of balls surrounded by a round there).
Arabella I haven't played (yet!), but I've heard seriously about it and it's on the record (a bit out of the way Hermanus side).
