Why is golf considered a sport?

Question:There's NO athleticism...Thats like calling chess a sport...
Answers:

Have you ever tried to hit a 1.5" inch round reason with a 3' stick, and made it dance in the right spot so it can fall down into a 4" hole in the lowest amount of hits? I used to think that style until I actually tried it.

The strategy surrounded by the game is much more adjectives and at the forefront than in some other sports, but it is a sport nonetheless. You own to swing at the right angle and speed, using your body and stance just right.

Golf is within the same category as bowling, archery, and auto race. You do not necessaily use various muscles adjectives over your body to compete, but they still require skills such as agility, endurance, flexibility, and strength to be upright at it.
I agree. It isn't a sport at all.
you are wrong, goat breath.
The hustle and bustle includes a ball. Thats almost it..
well that's a interview i ask myself like EVERY DAY! jk but i donno why i dont reflect on it should be it's like borrrrrring no offense to whoever like it but yea i donno
It takes no athleticism to drive a orb 300 yards?? I believe it does. Its more of a mental sport than physical. But, within is a ton of technique involved.
Same reason soccer is a sport
in actuality playing golf does take some athletic fitness with adjectives the walking and swinging of the club
yea, its kinda boring, although playing the virtual one seems better. but ethnic group enjoy it soooo it depends on the personage
Golf is defiantly a sport. Tiger Woods works out probably only as much as any other professional athlete, he benches over 300 pounds. You have to be vastly flexible and the game is adjectives mental.
Funnily enough chess is a sport and this is because surrounded by both of these activities, players compete against respectively other to win!
quote: There's NO athleticism

I beg to differ. There may not be like mad of athleticism, but it still takes great coordination to hit a golf bubble under adjectives the circumstances presented in a golf spectator sport. That, and the professionals walk several miles during the course of a team game (no carts).

The other reason it is a sport contest: the outcome depends solely on the skill of the competitors.

.
No, its approaching calling bowling a sport. If by athleticism, you mean head-to-head play, you are correct. But if you devise hitting a ball into a hole is not a physical chore, you obviously haven't played golf. There are like mad of sports, such as the 50 yard crash, where your opponent don't get to influence your implementation.

People decide what is a sport and what is a activity based on several factor. The strictest would only phone call something a sport if you are able to watch over against an opponent, or enjoy a direct effect on their play. Most would say anything i.e. something you do with your body that is to say scored objectively would count, but wouldn't include some sports that where on earth the winner is settled by a judge, approaching diving or gymnastics. Others allow these subjective games, if they are physical enough and enjoy a clearly defined scoring system. It's all a event of where you draw the smudge.
sport
–noun 1. an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and recurrently of a competitive nature, as race, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.

I bet most of the pros on the PGA tour could out bench press you and beat you at arm wrestling. If you deem it takes no athleticism to hit a bubble 350 yards, jump try it.
If there's no athleticism why aren't you on the PGA tour making millions?
Surely you're not going to hit the ball next to your mental prowess!

Now fishing and Nascar. how are they considered a sport?
why is american football a sport? why is cricket a sport? why is darts a sport? the answer is because they adjectives require a great deal of profesionalism, technique, and to a undisputed degree contained by every sports physical prowess (in darts explicitly usually who can drink the most beer) they also all require practise to carry good at. golf whilst not individual as physical as some other sports is one of the most technically difficult sports in the world, you don't see anyone catch good at golf lacking years of practise and focus. there is also a large amount of athletisism involved, a golf swing is one of the most dynamic movements the human body can make and is physically more demanding than read out shooting in basketball, also did you know it take more energy to drive a golf bubble than it does to start the average car ? years ago golf may not hold required you to be athletic but today look at tiger woods he is one of the fittest strongest people around even the ones who look similar to they may be carrying a bit of extra baggage, such as phil mickleson, are probably fitter and stronger than most individuals around, inluding you i wager.

now i suggest you shut up and hang on to your half formed thoughts and opinion to yourself in adjectives.
You come carry my daypack for 18 holes and we will see how athletic you are.
Golf is one of the most difficult sports on earth. I know, I hold played most of them on a competitive level.even to varsity even in college. It requires more concentration than any of them, requires considerable coordination and match, considerable strength in the belly, legs and shoulders. It is played on a competitive level adjectives over the world and, in it's present form, is at least possible 600 years old. What other definition could you hand over it? Admittedly, it tends to depart from this to a scope if the player is riding in an electric pushcart.
your probably the same guy who call nascar a sport
sport is an activity or hobby, that requires, skill, strategy, competition, and physical or athletic ability. sure chess is adjectives of that, except for athletic ability. it doesn't lug much to life a piece and move it. thats really what seperates a activity from a sport. the athleticism. have you ever tried golfing? its whip A LOT of athleticism.
This is for all u dbags who dont reflect on golf is a sport I am tired of you guys, golf is a sport you have to be athletic you swing a club and u stroll alot, it is also by far the most mental sport there is it is a short time ago u and only shitfaces who suck at time say it is not a sport because u suck at it and are trying to bring a stab at people who play it, tiger woods is simply as athletic as other athletes in other sport as are the rest of the devout guys in the pga tour.
IT'S THE MOST DIFFICULT SPORT OUT THERE

TAKES MORE TALENT THAN BASEBALL AND BASKETBALL AND FOOTBALL PUT TOGETHER
