How much does a full set of equipment cost for the trainee within hockey?
Question:I am just embark on playing ice hockey for the first time. I am planning on playing a position except goalie and was wondering how much a full set of equipment would cost. It looks similar to I would need to go and get a helmet, shoulder pads, shin guards, elbow pad, girdle, gloves, pants, jersey, and stick at a minimum (I already own skates). Is it better for the money to start next to used equipment or can I find a set of all untried equipment for under 300 dollars?
Answers:
Like anything else it adjectives depends on the brands and/or line of equipment you return with. I've seen sticks from $30 adjectives the way up to $200 +, gloves from $25 up to $80 and this be when I was looking next to my 6 yr. old who plays. If you want to achieve a rough idea, progress to hockeymonkey.com or hockeygiant.com and you can see some prices. You can find used equipment on ebay and maybe some shops where on earth you live (where I am we have a place call Play-It-Again Sports who re-sale equipment). We bought my son a slightly used pair of $200 skates (retail) for $30. You would probably want to progress try some stuff on before you buy it over the lattice though to get your correct size. I conjecture you may have a tough time getting everything fresh for under $300. Good luck and delight in playing.
their is no way to obtain all strange good stuff for below 300 but u can get apposite used stuff for about 350 to 400 at a play again sports or something close to that. sometimes good used stuff is better for newbies later new cuz it adjectives ready broken surrounded by
yeah u might want to buy some good used equipment, but i suggest buying trial skates and having the baked to ur foot if ur playing rime, i dont think roller matter much. All new equipment costed me 1000 bucks. 300 bucks is unfeasible for all topical or even good used. i chew over the guy before me is right u can probably carry a set of used equipment for 400 bucks unless u get an awesome matter from some random character who wants to carry rid of all their equipment nippy. not to good of likelihood for that though.good luck, hockey is the best sport i own ever played. I love it!
its impossible to get fresh gear for under 300$ even next to used i'm not sure you are gonna have adequate dough. every piece of equipment runs from 50$ to 300$ new.
I dont know what these other culture are talking going on for because you can get adjectives that equipment for less than 300 but you might want to get some cheap things. If that doesnt work consequently I suggest you should get some used eqiupment.
Well if you want skates those can run from 100-300 dollars. mine be 200 and then sticks are similar to 10 dollars for a cheap one to 200 dollars or more for a nice one. shoulder pads- mine were similar to 100 or 80 but they can be like 30 for used
shin gaurds- 20-80 or 100 dollars. helmet- 30-80 dollars
elbow pads- 10-60 dollars
gloves-30-130 dollars depending on size
girdle-40-200 dollars
jerseys- 5 bucks at the most hahaa
honourable luck with that
these prices depend on size, and who make them
I would go through the close out branch on:

Look for some or all of your equipment within. You could try eBay for some of the equipment, but hockey gear gets pretty worked over so you may want to spend the extra money and carry new gear. At smallest it will be your sweat soaking into the gear. By the time your ready for the NHL ( http://www.nhl.com ) you will hold upgraded your equipment anyway.
For starting out, I recommend EBay. Your taste will correction as you gain experience. Try some gear on in the stores to take an idea of sizing for the diffent brands though. Be sure to ask the vendor if the sizing is for adults or kids! Ask lots of questions. Stuff from Canada is OK, basically takes longer to receive, and shipping can be more. Some used gear may come next to a few tears, that's OK, you'll tear it anyway. After outfitting my in one piece family, we averaged in the order of $20 per piece of gear. That includes a couple of screw-ups and extras which we lone out. Get a cheap stick, girdle/jock, and over socks at GI Joes.
I play hockey, I coach hockey and I live hockey!
To realistically say that you can spend lower than $300 on used is pushing it. It all depends on where on earth you live.
Skates - and these it is highly recomended that you buy modern - will run you at least $150-200 for an average duo that will do the trick.
Next is the rest of the equipment - you only enjoy $100-150, not possible even surrounded by the used market. Things you must buy know are jocks -$40, underwear - $40-$100.
Now there is not much gone.
SOLUTION: Try sending a mass email to every contact you know and tell them that you are interested contained by beginning hockey but are not sure around the gamble of putting so much money surrounded by and not liking the sport. People will come by your side and you will see that adjectives kinds of equipment will pour contained by. Of course this depends on where you live. Here contained by Montreal...no problem, Dallas, Texas...maybe!
Who wpould you resembling to see win the stanley cup?

The Dodgers
LOLOLOLOLOL
The Sabres. They have be great the whole season and are still roaring. I would be nice to see the sharks shift far this year but im not sure they would make it adjectives the way to the cup unless someone can out muscle the redwings.
i would resembling to see the senators win as they haven't won in soooo lots years and to take the heading they have pinned on them for years presently as the chokers away so yea the senators if not them after islanders.
I'm rooting for the Ducks. They've been close two times, but this year's squad is the best.
The Maple Leafs. They have great goaltending and awesome players approaching Tucker and Sundin....
Oh wait.they didn;t even clear the playoffs! My Bad.LMAO!!

Has anyone within hockey ever score astern the partially row where on earth it be not an uninhabited web situation?
Question:Just wondering because I was watching some soccer clips and one be David Beckham scoring from behind the partially line because the goalie be out too far, and this made me wonder if it ever happened surrounded by hockey, but I'm guessing no since goalies don't really get tricked from that far out.
Answers:
Countless times. Sometimes the puck will hold a knuckle ball effect or it will skip along the rime. Here is one I'll always remember-not pretty center but it was priceless.

yes a couple goalies did
I remember Ray Bourque scoring from a faceoff circle contained by his own end attempting to clear the puck, and the Goalie muffed it. It be against Hartford. It was on one of the untimely Don Cherry videos...
It also happen in a Pittsburgh/NY Islanders series a few years fund, when the goalie was aimlessly skating surrounded by his own end ignorant the faceoff had be dropped, and it was fired down the rime and in.
It happen this year during a Minnisota Golden Gophers game (pretty sure it be a Gophers game, anyway). The puck come from the other end of the rink, the goalie mishandled the puck and it go in.
Goalies can bring back tricked from a long distance. The most common one is when a player shoots the puck down the rime along the boards. The goalie starts to go aft the net to stop the puck from going adjectives the way around ... except the puck hits an jerky part of the boards and change direction. The goalie doesn't have time to procure back into the lattice, and the puck beats him nearby for a goal.
I'm not clich¨¦ that happens like mad, but it pops up every few years.
I was watching a blooper bobbin from Best Damn Sports Show Period top 50 Blunders. I saw one where the Flyers be up 1-0 and there be like 10 second left and someone threw a desperation shot at Ron Hextall, but he be too busy celebrating his shutout that he be unaware of the puck going between his skates. The Flyers lost within OT.
Moral of the Story: Dont be Boastful, Even if an Accomplishment is Around the Corner.
I can name a goalie that muffed one cleared from the hope line from the other side of the rink.
Me. Hey, at smallest I came verbs about it! It really did hold a bad bounce.
It's funny that you mention this very soon. I was merely watching the Red Wing pregame show before tonights spectator sport and they showed a goal by Nicklas Lidstrom that he made from center rime in the 2002 playoffs vs. Vancouver.
Lidstrom go on to win the Conn Smyth trophy and the Wings won the cup that year.
Yes there own been a few but I don't know who or when.remember seeing two a few years ago when the puck bounced as it land in front of the goalie and go in the contrary direction he thought it would.
if the goalies an idiot like mine
Sometimes the puck take a funny bounce, or the goalie gets caught napping. I've see it a few times.
