Should the NHL enjoy ties?
Question:Because of the shootout this is no longer possible, but it is only not long that this has be the case. In certainty, for many years nearby were no overtimes played at ALL surrounded by the regular season.
Eventually, a 5 minute sudden-death was added, consequently it became 4 on 4, and very soon there MUST be a beater
Good or Bad?
Answers:
It is unfortunate that after the overtime the hobby goes to a shootout, because it feel like adjectives the work that went on throughout the hobby, gets dwindled down to almost a serious newspaper, rock, scissors match. It feel thin, however, i consider the positives outweigh the negatives. It's better and more hanging when it comes down to playoff standings. Especially when thinking about the games that wouldve done 0-0 previously. Also, after the lockout, the NHL fanbase dwindled significantly, love it or hate it, the shootout is exciting, and it have brought alot of former fans subsidise as well as grab new fan. To be honest, NHL needs adjectives the help it can attain as far as fans are concerned.
I surmise it's a good entry to have a beater in every spectator sport, however, to support that system a new point system should be set surrounded by place. If a team would lose every winter sport in OT or the shootout they would own 82 points. A team near an 0-0-82 record would own qualified for the playoff in the East ultimate year which is absolutely insane.
3 points regulation win
2 points OT/SO win
1 point OT/SO loss
i feel they should go next to a ten minute 4-on-4 sudden death OT later call it a tie. it should be 3 points for a regualtion win, 2 points for an OT win, 1 point for a tie and nothing points for an OT loss
i hate ties so i don't dream up they should have them
it make the game get the impression incomplete
BAD! overtime and shootouts make NHL hockey more fun to keep under surveillance.
There was nought wrong with have tie games during the regular season. Each game be worth 2 points in the standings, and if the team tied, each squad got one of those points.
To me, if the team are tied after 60 minutes, then they be pretty evenly matched that night and respectively one should get a point.
It doesn't get sense to me that they should play a different game (4 on 4 sudden death) to settle on a point in the standings for a winter sport that is regularly played 5 on 5 (except for penalties) for a set extent of time. Even in the playoffs, where on earth there does requirement to be a winning troop, it would make sense to hold full overtime periods fairly than sudden death.
Edit: Good Point in the region of them getting even longer in OT- I be on a roll! Maybe shorter OT period, but resembling basketball, you have the opportunity to rack up for a defined period of time. The cross-examine of sudden death versus defined OT interval is a small matter to me as unwilling the larger matter of the abomination of shootouts.</edit>
I look at it this bearing: essentially now, respectively team is awarded one standings point at the conclusion of a tie game, but because of the tie, they own the opportunity to gain another standings point based on an individual skills competition (shootout).
When you look at it that process, it makes no sense at adjectives. You may say in that is a winner, but contained by essence, there is simply a point awarded for winning a shootout.
I would resembling to see overtime as sudden death till they drop. No ties, i.e. a waste of my $100. I compensated to see the game ; I want a winner/loser. Shoot-out is o.k. I prefer sudden annihilation till the end.
I close to the overtime and the shootout but i would like them to loose change the point system. If a team loses within Overtime then they shouldn't find a point. Only deserve a point if both teams are still tied after overtime.
Why are ppl so against the toronto maple leafs?
Question:i get harrassed so much for human being a leafs fan and i live contained by edmonton originally from saskatchewan. just becuase they havnt won the cup since 1967? i will stay true to them until i die and if they win it once contained by my life time i would be well. so dont say they will never win again because you dont know that. BUT what make them such a hate or love troop?
Answers:
no clue sorry buddy cant help im right near with you im a bruins admirer surrounded by sabres fans one of currently im going to get my *** kicked for running my mouth to much lol but stick true next to your team even if you are surrounded by a bunch of leafs haters
Beats me...I steal a lot of harm as well.
The Leafs hold a lot of rivalries, especially against the other Canadian team, that probably leads to most of the crap.
Hockey seem to be a love or hate sport contained by general, near are very few team that arn't hated by partly the other teams fan.
i think it's bcuz they r an flowing target if u ask me. U don't c blakchawks fans conversation about how we r gonna win the cup this year bcuz we know how unrealistic it is but Toronto talks something like it every year. Good loyalty, but when u talk and in that is no sucsess that makes u an assured target for everyone who's team is doing pious
i agree
Hockey is the one sport where dedication for ones team runs weighty. I am a Red Wings fan and encounter profoundly of the same contained by other cities but it is all fitting, we must remain loyal to our teams no event what. Because the leafs are an Original 6 team within a large Canadien city (with probably the craziest newspaper sports reporters contained by the world) that plays a role. It is cool that you remain loyal to the Leafs ...cant be easy entry to do in Edmonton. Too oodles people bail on their favorite squad just because they are down...a unfaultable example is in Buffalo where on earth their own fans dog the squad for just in the region of everything. Remember the hate when Biron be dealt, Sabre fan went crazy and insufferable Miller.notice they are currently contained by a love fest with the guy. It is adjectives passion, hold the faith and hold on to on rooting for your Leafs, eventially they will turn the franchise around and recapture the glory of old!
Toronto have always be a team to any root for or against because of the talent they have have or the years that they were predicted to win it adjectives and failed! Also own Tie Domi doesnt help fan to like your squad much either! Being a "troop to beat" is going to get you surrounded by the same club as the N.Y. Yankees of baseball, Dallas Cowboys of football, one loves or hate them!l I feel for you bro, because I bring alot of smack being a St. Louis Blues follower and watch former players walk on to the cup!! Most of the problems with the leafs not finishing past its sell-by date the season with the cup belong near the coaching staff! If a coach cant get the part of team to play up to expectations consequently it is time to get one who can! Hey, but stay true to your squad, Even the Red Sox{baseball } finally won one! Stay true to Hockey, the greatest sport in the world!!
I own nothing against them.
I mull over they have one of the coolest NHL logos within the league!
I think Toronto have this reputation of being "dirty" which cause alot of animosity from rival fans. Personally as a long time Sabres enthusiast, I can appreciate the Leafs and they way they play. I am a admirer of both teams even though I tend to pick on the Leafs more frequently. If Toronto make to to the play-offs next year GO LEAFS GO! If not, no big business the future of the NHL is especially undetermined. I'm sure they will win at some point.
I am a proud Canadian hockey fan living contained by Montreal.Naturally i am a Habs fan why not right they are lone the 2nd most sucessful sports franchise behind the yankees. When Montreal is not surrounded by the playoffs i want to see a canadian based squad win the cup we need the cup stern in Canada!!But if Toronto be in the finals playing anyone else even if it be Nashville or Florida i do not want Toronto to win.One main plea is well i abhor Toronto. The CBC coverage is so damn Toronto biased it makes me unwell. Those dumb bastard anouncers just drive me nuts. Then youve get T.S.N the Toronto sports network do ya see where on earth im going with this. All the medium attention in Canada hockey sagacious is geared to Toronto and like you said they havent won anything since 67.It really kinda pisses me bad.
Go senators
Well, first of all they kindly of suck. Second of all, from what I've hear they're being shoved down Canadians' throats close to they're the only troop that exists up there. Thirdly, (and this is a short time ago a personal thing) I am a Sabres fan and accordingly it is obligatory that I despise the Leafs near every ounce of my hockey-loving being. Good for you for individual a true fan, though. We here within Buffalo have have our share of bandwagoners and they really really suck. I almost liked it better when the Sabres weren't doing so resourcefully back surrounded by the early 2000s (almost) because the enthusiast base be more loyal. Have fun watching your Leafs, but I will still hate them similar to it's my job, because that's cut of staying true to MY team until I die!
Because they are the darling of the Canadian media?
When I lived within Ottawa, local hockey coverage was as much roughly speaking the Leafs as it was the Sens.
TSN, The Score, SportsNet, HNIC are adjectives based contained by the Toronto area, and since most of their viewers are surrounded by the Toronto / So-On area, most of the coverage is around the Leafs.
Makes me sick really.
They are the Dallas Cowboys of the NHL, their fans travel everywhere and it get on the home teams nerves. You love them or antipathy them.
What do the Wings enjoy to add to on to lash the Sharks today?
Question:Anyone else think that possibly the Wings pk unit should sacrifice their body a short time more, to block shots and take away some of the shooting lane from San Jose. The fact that they haven't done that since round1 have bothered me a lot.
Answers:
After a 2-0 shutout, I consider they need to work on offense more than their PK.
The ting is, it's merely one game. They didn't win outplayed. They got tap on one great play and another lucky play right afterwards. If the Wings work hard today possibly they can make their own breaks.
Bottom vein, that's just not the big-hearted of game that I surmise indicated dominance of one team over another.
I agree beside you, also need to overhaul the puck more to open up shooting lane so San Jose can't block the shots. We certainly miss Holmstrom contained by the the crease so Bertuzzi or Cleary need to pick up the slack in that.
Yea the Wings are going to have to play fail-safe to beat the shark today.
1. Wings requirement 2 be on top of the sharks because they cant agree to the sharks take spread out shots.
2. Wongs need 2 produce on the powerplay because they enjoy been sturgglinmg next to the pp.
3. Wings need 2 shot alot...nabokov cant stop everything that comes at him!!
4. Hasek wishes 2 be hot because the sharks are filled near snipers that can put the puck where they want it.
San Jose is going to see your but cuzz red wings within a shark tank funds a shark can feel the accomplishment.
Devils Cup Champ said it all. Everything he scheduled is what the Wings DIDN'T do in the end game. I reason the answer is, the Wings need to be twice as moral to even compete with the Sharks. The Wings have need of to be able to rely on respectively and every player...and not just a select few. Nabakov is hot right presently. I won't be surprised if the Sharks pull past its sell-by date another shut-out today.
Penalty killing.
Power play.
5 on 5.
I suggest that about sums it up.
They involve a way to find the pay for of the net and play rather more aggressively.
they need to play better the squad we saw in winter sport 1 wasnt the team that thump the flames they need to procure more traffic in front of nabokov (or however u spell it) they obligation to shoot more and should stop backing up on safety and we need to put preshure on joe thorton when hes at the back the net he have some of the best vision and is a great passer from put a bet on there wich is why we cant agree to him stand there
They cant thrash they wings. so you wing fan hold too realize that they are already done 2-zip early surrounded by the first of game 2.
Who is the St. Louis Blues No.1 goaltender?
Question:Is it Curtis Sanford, Manny Legace or Jason Bacashihua?
Answers:
Wow!! Some smart answers in here:) Manny, Sanford, next Jay Bacashihua. Although they have be playing Bacashihua a lot lately and he's be holding up pretty good.
Poor Manny. It's a shame he's hurt. I desire Detroit would have kept him. Same beside McDonald who we through to the Bruins.
Legace. But he out for the season, next is Sanford.
Manny Legace is the best! Then Curtis Sanford! Then, Jason Bacashihua!
Sorry but I am not a St. Louis Blues hanger-on!!
GO SHARKS ALL THE WAY!!
Legace is the #1 goaltender for St. Louis.
does it really matter? the Blues suck
I consider Legace
Manny proved from December until he was hurt that he deserves #1 honors, BUT for back-up, Sanford's other hurt and not that good anyways so I'd approaching Davidson to choose Bacashihua. He's younger and I think he have proven himself in DET a week or so ago.
Legace. That is until they sort the playoffs next year and he falter. After that they'll be looking to upgrade through free agency. Bacashihua is a long shot and Sanford is a career back-up man. Davison is a bright guy, so I'm sure he's already get his eye on possible free agent goalies for the 2008-2009 season.
