I think what you are referring to is call Bushido the code of the samurai. This can often achieve misinterpreted but it was a code that be used by the samurai (to serve). It was a defined set of rules that applied to the samurai to relief them respect and serve their daiyanmo (lord). Nowadays it has slightly different meaning. This is nothing unmarked as most martial arts own been changed to suit modern times.
Hagakure is probably the best book written on the subject.
Ninpo is another warring way.
Understand appropriate play is the best book written on ninpo.

Manners Respect and Discipline are the building blocks of Japaneese Martial arts. Even of the general culture which is why they appear polite and hard working.
In most Japanese systems in that is a code of ethics stemming from the bushido code of the samurai warrior or the shorinj temples, depending on which style logically. Most Japanese styles honor some of both, seeing as how they are a mainstay of the Japanese lifestyle.

I cogitate Shaolin is a very interesting style. It is a root for various arts.
If I had a clothed place to study it I would check it out.
I suppose that depends on what you mean by "Discipline." I study Shaolin Kung Fu, the Martial Art. I reflect it's great. But if you mean their religion, I have an idea that of it the same as any other Buddhist faction.
i am as well a student. I ruminate it is an excelent art as it teaches you inner peace as economically as great self defense.
It's a matter of personal prefernce which 'art' you choose to follow.
Many years ago, a adaptation of Shaolin Kung Fu sprang up in Japan and become known as Shorinji Kempo (Sho-rin self the Japanese pronunciation of Shaolin)

Well I've be doing it for 3 years and feel it be an excellent choice for me. Its a well rounded militaristic arts, focusing on defense, offense, blocking, and discipline. I'm at the dojo five days a week and never tire of it. Speak very notably of it.
I studied Northern Shaolin for 12 years under Sifu Wing Lam. One of the highlights of those years be a study tour to Shaolin in China to study beneath the Shaolin monks.
Its the greatest. I had studied Shotokan Karate and Aikido earlier I started studying Shaolin.
I had to stop because of a hip injury otherwise I would still be practicing it. Sifu Wing Lam is an outstanding instructor. The arts school format has changed but every minute next to him gives you much deeper good judgment of the art.

As a common rule, usually the heavier & muscular one will win. But who knows Lee have better strategy? He's trained well & is not afraid of anybody, but he cannot outpower Tyson. The simply way is next to tactics. But I would fairly choose Don King than them both. Just say,"Stop, or I will not wages you" and they will stop... LOL.
hahaha, what a funny question. The two competitors enter the concealed, enclosed conflict chambers. High and low scream are heard eminating from the shaking building. While the time is distraught, it is also short as all fight are actually pretty short. Either Mike will knock Bruce out like a shot, or Bruce will anialate Mike with his lightning prompt kicks.
And in a minute, the winner is coming out of the darkly lit chamber... is it.. is is... Yes, Bruce Lee, short one ear, but victorious indeed.
