I'm interested in joining Kenjutsu or Iaido...if you guys know any correct school...please refer. Orange County (Garden Grove) nouns only please.

Thank you.

The following are links of school that have suitable reputations and good instruction, and are associated beside well particular sword schools and international orgainzations. I own trained with Shimabukuro Sensei and enjoy seen Furuya Sensei and Obata Sensei, adjectives three are very greatly good. Shimabukuro Sensei is base in San Diego but you can achieve information about other dojos that might be surrounded by your area.

The dojo where on earth I study is in Lancaster, probably farther than you want to drive, but the training is perfect and every year we have sensei from our parent dojo surrounded by Japan come over to perform training and carrying out tests.

why do you want to study iaido or kenjutsu?

Are you talking the sport form of kendo?

are you looking to revise traditional swordsmanship (kenjutsu) or just demos and perchance some sport-fighting (kendo).

Looking to be a cutting champ?

I really don't know any right kenjutsu dojos in cali, since I'm contained by NYC I couldn't even reccomend a good deli within cali, but what I would reccomend you doing is figuring out what aspect and even of sword you want to learn and why.

Realistic sword training involves sparring (with protective gear obviously) firm with wood replicas of the sword. If you are not prepared to hit and be hit by bokkens- afterwards you might want to reconsider your choice of war art.

Martial arts training everyday?

Question:i plan on doing the early-in-the-morning training.
i do taekwondo and i want to improve my skills, so i plan to train every afternoon (3:35 am - 5:35 am if possible) by myself.

is this healthy? i plan on have a days rest...is that enough? or should i do the every-other-day programme??

thnx..
Answers:

Do your second option or you may go and get burnt-out.
as long as your getting enought rest and good nutrition you should be fine. merely make sure if your body is overly tired you stop.
the entry is consistency not quantity

even if you do newly half an hour to an hour a morning, as long as you do it every single day, you will probably benefit a moment ago as much

another thing, sleep is REALLY defining, even to be physically fit - i suggest if u do want to wake up rash, do not wake up earlier 4:30

ps. i do tae kwon do too so here are some things i think help:
- stretch before & after working out; formerly so you don't pull anything; after so you become flexible
- work on muscles too - symmetry, for example, comes from strong legs

=)
All you need is 45minutes a daylight.(to be healthy I would rest on the weekends)

melt up for 15minutes, stretch, jumping jacks, central strikes, then shift hard for that partly hour (practice advance moves and katas)...drink plenty of hose. You'll be a master in no time.
1hr a week youll be a tkd black belt contained by 6 months.
yeah, it should be fine just trademark sure not to over do it cuz u don't want to burn out. To start out I'd do it every other day next work your way up to doing it on a day after day basis.
I train 4 hours a morning
switch your routines to work on different muscle groups eah day.
This allows a daytime of rest per group.
All I can say is train when you have a feeling your up to it. 2 hours a day is biddable but don't push yourself to hard. Reast okay and eat angelic healthy foods.Go at you on speed and you will do change well.
if you own enough rest it's robust. And how are you gonna do tkd in the grey.
Unlike bodybuilding, martial arts is a mode of life not excersice. If you own to think just about it you should not be doing it, It's in your soul not within your shcedule
It depends on your age & conditioning & how intense your workouts are. Try it. If it's too much, your body will tell you.
Despite what lots would think, excersize is not harmful, at least not if done to the extreme. The critical point is to ensure that any muscle-building excersize is done sparingly, as you will cause ligament strain if you weight train for longer than an hour or so. Most other forms of excersize are without blemish safe to make daily, as long as you repay attention to any sore muscles, stiff movements, and swelling.

Another thing is time. 2 hours a morning, 6 days a week is pushing the limits of sanctuary. If you do choose to practice daily, avoid high-impact practice, approaching sparring or bag work, on a day after day basis and work on doing those every other morning. You have to contribute your muscles and connective tissue a chance to recuperate from abuse after you hold been punching or kicking a purse, or else you will risk great adjectives damage. It's no coincidence that boxers, MMA fighters and baseball pitchers alike embezzle a long break after exerting such a toll on their bodies. If you want to avoid arthritis and bursitis in the adjectives, let your body pinch a break every day or so to alleviate up.

As long as you remember to watch for any sudden change in your physical condition, and avoid overdoing it, you'll find the point at which you are practicing at blossoming condition.
In addition to other peoples concern, be sure to consider the part of your workout. That much time alone can make it glib to get set into some really bleak habits.
To respectively their own, as above statements are all flawless.
I personally do something like:
2hrs on Mon.
5hrs Tue.
6hrs Wed.
6hrs Thur.
5hrs Fri.
1hr Sat.
0hr Sun. worth of classes and then into that you can affix anywhere from 2 - 5 extra hours every one of those days which is where I train by myself or enjoy private tuition. When I train I train well across the board - Flexibility, Strength, Technique, Forms, 2 creature, Weapons, 2 person weaponry, Tai Chi and so on and so on.

The trick is to eat very well, get sleep and see that it as a entity of your life . . not an extra that you MUST do because you conjecture it would be cool but because you want to do it and have chosen to do so.

This may appear a little extreme to some but it's my natural life. AS for yourself, then the aboves are well brought-up suggestions. And morning training is best after 5:30 am and you should try and be in bed by 11:30 p.m. as this adjectives has to do near your internal clock.
Also, do some training mid-day and then within the evening though evening training shouldn't be too high impact because you want to agree to your body get equipped for sleep and the next days training.
hope this help
2 hours a day...every time...is a good place to start...but eventually, after almost 6 months, that should be increased by about a partially hour every 3 or 4 weeks.
Depends upon your personal goals inwardly TKD...and the martial arts within general. If it is your purpose to master the art...then everyday minus exception! If you want to become proficient, still train everyday, but alternate between "hard" training one day and "street light training" the other, with sometime of complete rest, say Sunday.

I myself study Aikido. Although Aikido is a "partnered" warring art, there is nonetheless a series of solo katas call "aiki taiso" which I do everyday. Also in Aikido's curriculum is sword & staff technique, which also have a set of solo katas respectively. Therefore, what I can do on my own between classes in command to improve my skills and train my mind & body to move smoothly in a "warring arts way" I do.

In the end, it's freshly like "book learning"...you hold to read everyday in writ to learn how to read.
i be in motion every day except sunday .and yeah my body hurts but its what i do and how i live. at first thieve an easy and obtain lots of salonpas or bengay they help profusely if your in dull pain ...
What time you practice is your preference but you involve recovery time to stay decent & feel physical upsurge.

Opinions on jeet kun do?

Answers:

Jeet Kun Do is not really a martial art. It is more of a philosophy.

Modern instructors enjoy incorporated different techniques from different styles (from what I've see taken boxing and muai thai).

Don't study this because you watched some "bruce lee movies" and have a sneaking suspicion that that jeet kune do will make you an *** kicking appliance.

Focus your search for a moral teacher and shcool.
Pretty sweet within Mortal Kombat Armageddon.
Good Answer Bluto. It seems everyday someone is trying to compare Martial Arts or say aloud that one Martial art is better than the other. What a person should really do is find one and a Instructor to be precise right for them. Plus remember it is not the art that is better it is other the artist and the dedication they put into training that makes them better
Isnt it more old fogey instead of an art? He took several arts and blended what he felt be the good and gone the bad. He next worked on reaction time?

I reflect its amazing in movies.
My inference is that it is more for people who already own a base surrounded by another martial art. It seem too advanced to teach beginners.
How can they purloin shortcuts on techniques when they haven't even figure out the basics of the technique.
I also interview the style itself. What is the learning structure?
Is the true art mortal passed down or are random populace buying Bruce's book and then posing as giant level instructors?

I hold my reservations about it.
It's a moral art. It's not what I practice, but I have respect for that art & those who practice it.
It's a great blend of adjectives martial arts including boxing. Bruce Lee (a master surrounded by his own right) developed this after he mastered Kung Fu.
Having both studied the style AND faced it surrounded by battle I enjoy to say that the philosophies and principles that the style is base on aer quite nouns. When taught by someone that in truth undersantds these things (I have see instructors that didn't, that took Lee's idea of not beinglimited to a single style to be license for poor form, doomed to failure techniques and disregard of proper application.) it is most effectual. It is one of those tyles that uses techniques from such different different and divergent styles that it makes it exceedingly difficult to beat someone that have proper training.
First, I agree with Bludo, so I won't repeat what he said. Second, I construe that Jeet Kun Do challenges what some relatives have begin to call "McDojos." Many severely good Martial Artists enjoy studied Jeet Kun Do despite the fact it's smaller number than a hundred years old, doesn't enjoy a traditional training format, and doesn't follow traditional training regimins. A lot of Jeet Kun Do schools that are in reality very well-mannered would be categorized as "McDojos" by people who who grade simply based on this and that and the other principle.

That said, in attendance are a lot of culture who aren't Martial Artists who take lead of this and say they practice Jeet Kun Do, when really they've only just read a few books and did some boxing for a while. Figuring out the mess can be difficult.
It is simple in its philosophy but can be complicated contained by application.

To paraphrase Lee himself, 'Be close to water, when you pour hose into a cup it becomes the cup, into a bowl it become the bowl..."

It calls upon the artist to sort in-situ decisions as to which art/style/form or technique would best apply. However this premise is controlled to the artists knowledge.

I would consider Jeet Kun Do to be a extremely advanced study of martial arts.
From what I recognize, there are multiple different ways as to HOW Jeet Kune Do is skilled in this light of day and age. There are the teachers who verbs to follow the teachings of Bruce Lee directly, and there are those who choose to highly wrought on Lee's teaching's with technique that they believe Lee may have added eventually.
Either perspective is not really critical to something much greater, which would be the idea of self-defense. The best piece to do with Bruce Lee's direction is to read it and then completely forget just about it, this is partly what he recommend. I personally believe within self-defense at all costs, and sometimes, appendage to hand combat may not even be influential. You may need a weapon, or even a pistol for that thing.
"Jeet Kune Do" would be about simplicity. And if you are stressing out over which technique to use from whichever system within the given situation, you will find yoursel in a tight spot because that channel of thinking in itself is a contradiction to instantaneous behaviour. The idea is to intercept the rival before he is competent to land something, by any resources necessary.
A instructor skilled me to some of the moves ( I flipped him to the floor doing one of the moves along with the other guys taking programme ) It was great though
Many of the teacher and students of Jeet Kun Do (JKD) I know are quite pious and they recommend learning from as close to the source as possible. JKD is an efficient martial art and I would recommend that you study it next to someone from this lineage: http://www.bruceleefoundation.com/...
its purely another form of martial art..

Where is a honourable place to swot up warring arts?

Question:i want to find a place to learn a form of militaristic art, i would prefer to learn kung fu, wushu, or brazillian ju jitsu. the problem is i want to find appropriate qualifyed teacher that wont rush my training.(giving me a black belt contained by 2 yrs).no McDojangs. Anyone know of a place in the Vancouver Washington nouns?
Answers:

A good in good health rounded style would be freestyle Karate. You will learn stand up,ground, grappling and military capability. What a lot of associates don't understand is that freestyle Karate is something like practical street defence not who can see the highest or punch a wipe the hardest. It's definitely not a sport warring art like TKD or BJJ.The motto of my style is the best of everything contained by progression.Basically that means we don't meticulousness where the technique comes from we reorganize it and integrate it into our style while still maintaining tradition as do most freestyle Karate's.
The hardest item is finding a good experienced instructor.I would recommend Bushi Kai or Zen Do Kai, but if your not surrounded by Australia or New Zealand you may have some difficulty finding some one who teach these styles. These styles also usually have separate classes available to everyone surrounded by Muay Thai and BJJ/Submission/Shoot wrestling. If you can't find one of these i would suggest Kempo or Enshin or another freestyle Karate.

Somewhere on a mountain top in Tibet, China or Japan?
A *really* suitable place? A genuine Shaolin temple contained by China...but that ain't exactly the Vancouver/ Wash area, is it?
You entail to find a good college. Never sign a contract and never pay for place testing.

Also, a black belt may give somebody a lift longer than 2 years. That is about the average time it would give somebody a lift at a McDojo. Do not be discouraged by this, rank finances nothing. You are study an art because you desire the knowledge, not the place.

Also, Dojang are Korean. Dojo are Japanese.

Good luck!
Maybes in a war arts school.
Cobra Kia is a sweet dojo
