What is the best time for amateurs to climb shasta?

IF you want to do a alpine assent try late spring. It changes year to year depending on snow pack. Keep an eye on local snow reports and check with the local ranger station for climbing permits and route info. The mountain changes all the time so be ready to adapt. Shasta is not a beginner climb so know what your doing.

That would be a raise comb. These are common on trap guns, to angle your line of verbs (your eye, which is the "rear sight" on a shotgun) so your point of impact is greater.
The only agency you'll have a wood raise comb is to have a stockmaker fit you, and cut up the existing stock and put an adjustable piece - OR - put a current stock on your gun.
BUT!
There is a much cheaper alternative, which I used on my gun when the Monte Carlo raised comb be too low for me. Bear Tooth makes a comb raise kit - it works really powerfully.

It sounds close to a cheek pad or rest to me. I it used so you can propperly alighn your principal (containiny your eye(s)) with the barrel/sights.

Its similar to the ebay of guns. You will have to own it shipped to a local dealer, so you will want to seize the OK from one before you bid. The pusher will charge you a small fee, my agent charges $20.
