Anyone know the value of an Iver Johnson Saftey Rifle?

Question:We have an Iver Johnson Self Cocking Saftey Rifle, 22S, 1931.
Anyone out there know anything about it, or how much it might be worth?
Answers:

Gun values are based on a few things. Condition of the stock and the metal parts, and how well it works among the top things looked at. Also, it helps if you know how much (a percentage) of the origional finish (blueing) is there. Here's a book on everything IVer Johnson...

http://www.gunshowbooks.com/home.html...

OR... you can email the Iver Johnson people (they reopened)

http://www.iverjohnsonarms.com/index.htm...

And, additionally, some Iver Johnson info:

Iver Johnson was a U.S. firearms manufacturer and motorcycle manufacturer.

The company was founded in 1871 as Johnson Bye & Company. The company’s name changed to Iver Johnson & Company in 1873. The name changed again to Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works in 1891. The company changed ownership several times during its operation. When the company ceased trading in 1993 it was owned by American Military Arms Corp (AMAC).

Iver Johnson gained a reputation over the years for producing low cost, sturdy, reliable firearms. Iver Johnson firearms are collectable today (21st century) at reasonable prices, but should not be fired until checked by a competent gunsmith.
Iver Johnson nomenclature refers to its top-break revolvers as Safety Automatics. These are revolvers, not semi-automatic pistols. The term “Safety Automatic” to Iver Johnson’s transfer bar safety system (“safety”) and the automatic ejection of cartridges upon breaking open the revolvers (“automatic”).

And, finally, a snickering sidenote:
Presidential assassin Leon Czolgosz shot and killed U.S. President William McKinley in Buffalo, New York on 6 September 1901 with Iver Johnson .32 caliber Safety Automatic revolver (serial number 463344). The revolver is currently on display at the Erie County Historical Society in Buffalo.

The assassin Sirhan Sirhan shot and killed Presidential candidate United States Senator Robert F. Kennedy in Los Angeles, California on 5 June 1968 with an Iver Johnson .22 caliber Cadet 55-A revolver (serial number H-53725, Trial-People's Exhibit #6, misidentified in trial testimony as S/N H-18602).

Which Dragunov rifle is better?

Question:So which one is better, if you have used it please recommend what you guess is better.
Also where on internet can i find one of those?

SVD, Tiger, NDM-86, Romak-3/PSL

Of those four!

Thank You
Answers:

The SVD (Snayperskaya Vintovka Dragunova)is the Soviet Sniper Rifle, While outwardly resembling the acquainted Kalashnikov rifle, the SVD fires a more powerful cartridge, more accurately, and beside less disturbance of aim due to the short stroke gas piston system, to some extent than the AK series’ long stroke system. Also, while the Kalashnikov series rifles are selective fire, the Dragunov is semiautomatic only thus the choice is clearly the SVD, its a lightweight and rather accurate (for it's class) rifle, capable of semi-auto fire
If you can afford the price of a Russian manufactured SVD next get that one….The Chinese rifles are usually painted next to a high explain black paint that easily chips, plus the metal surfaces are for a moment rougher in appearance. Also the Chinese NDM's hold a slightly different receiver cover. The Russian SVD's enjoy a flat black coating that is extremely durable. The feature of the metal is very honourable on either rifle.
Russian SVD: $3500 - $6000 depending on condition and bits and pieces.
Russian Tiger carbine: $1300 - $1800 also depending on condition and accessories (add $1000 to price if California Armory version).
Chinese NDM-86: $2200 - $3200 if within 7.62x54 and $1800 - $2400 if 7.62x51. Add a premium if in deluxe velvet grip.
Romanian PSL (ROMAK-3/SSG-97/ FPK): $700 - $900

To purchase you have to contact your local governing and regulatory body.
Get the Romak and buy several other rifles beside the money you save. Unless you are a well-to-do collector, your motto should be "the more the merrier"!

What style of fishing pole should i buy my dad for freshwater fish? trout/bass/etc.?

Answers:

Diawa ugly stick near an openface spin cast pin. But make sure it's the 6 foot pole and the Green Limited series.
Ugly Stick... It is not Diawa though, it is Shakespere.

Meduim spinning totter. if you have a Wal-Mart around they hold great combos
I would buy a 6.5 foot light deed berkley lightning series.
It depends on how much you want to spend but a verry versitile fishing pole I would say would be a zebco rhino which you can usually purchase at your local Walmart or Kmart. If your looking to spend for a moment more money look into a graphite rod. My friend uses the zebco Rhino's to fish for tout and to fish bass, last year he caught a 50 inch tigermusky on it and land it with 10 lb. mono queue, I wouldn't have believed this beside out seeing it.
Independant tests showed that for the money... the Ugly Stick is a great pole.. followed by a Berkey. But the coil is all almost what you are fishing for, type of bait and conditions. But try Wal-Mart (because they are everywhere it seems)... and ask at a local tackle and bait shop.. of late don't buy there unless price is not something you verbs about.
My husband other buys Ugly stiks. They are one of the best out there for the money. As for reel I like the Shakespeare Synergys.
Well, trout fishing is kinda surrounded by a league all surrounded by it's own, but if your dad fishes a lot for several diferent species of fresh sea fish, nothing is more reliable that a Shakespeare Ugly Stik. They run in the order of $30.00 and can be matched to any type of reel that your dad uses. Make sure you own that reel type when you walk to buy it. Baitcast, spincast and spinning all filch a different type of rod. You should probably get a 7 foot environment action rod. this will allow him to manipulate any fish up to about 14 lbs.
