Buy a Turkish Mauser?
Question:I'm still thinking about that 8mm 1942 dated Turkish Mauser. The guy still desires $150 for it, which you guys all said be too much. I guess I just still really want a full military dress Mauser and as far as I know this is the singular one in town for public sale right now. The wood wants a little work (which I sort of resembling doing) and the bolt, magazine, and chamber are full or cosmeline, but it seems to be surrounded by good direct. The bore is a little dirty, but not as unpromising as I thought it would be. Plus I got on Gunbroker.com and I can grasp the Turkish bayonet and most of the other assesories I want, but like the rifle they appear to cost more than you'd figure they'd in actuality be worth.
I dunno, are Turk Mausers just crappy guns? Because if its a gonna be a peice a *, afterwards I don't want it.
My ideal Mauser would be a complete WW2 German K98 contained by full military dress, with adjectives the swats intact but they're hard to find, and the ones I own seen I can't afford.
Help! What should I do?

We market Turkish Mausers in our shop, along next to mausers from many other countries, and the Turks are intensely nice guns and sell for $140+ within Alabama. Also be aware that the price of these surplus guns is going up fast due to the UN Small Arms and Surplus ammo treaty stopping the export of these firearms.
here surrounded by italy kar 98 mauser go from 300 (yugoslavian) up to 1500 euro, depending demonstrably on the cowntry (germany, chile, persian, brazil...).
so let me voice that i was for a time "shocked" about the price u reported: if i could simply find a k98 here for about 150$ i would buy it instantly.
who built that turkish mauser? is it an oberndorfer, or perchance a fabrique nationale (i saw a colombian mauser made in belgium by fn)?? I don`t know it was individual sold to turks, and was built within western europe. even if i don't have any right to mull over that turks could make it fruitless...i only own a light doubt just about the year, in certainty a 1942 made mauser could be a little bit cheaper than a pre-war one. but if that one is one-serial nmbr, and is contained by pretty good conditions or you could efficiently restore it... why not?
i seeked here on the online market to find another turk but i couldn't. anyway the prices here are really sophisticated.
maybe if you are not sure it will work properly, look for yugoslavian k98, presently they are arriving here and they are brand new and cheap.
if you finally buy it (me, i would) i can make the addition of, if you need to replace some pieces, to look on the roll you can download at www.amsmilitaria.com, a belgian enterprise where you will find a huge amount of contract... take a look.
bye
Let me freshly say I resembling all the Mauser's instinctively. As base insinuation in prices for any Rifle that fires "SAFELY" and is at tiniest shooters grade is typically worth at least $80-150. The Turk Mauser i hold is an excellent fire arm i paid 275 but mine is NRA rank excellent. And has good-looking wood an 90% bluing. The 2 time i shot it i was have 3inch's groups at 150yds witch is great for me. If your going to do the wood stock your self just remember you take what you put in to it . I suggest sand the stock down apply a coat of lin seed grease let it set for a daylight, rub it back down near steel wool till smooth repeat 5 more times. IF the bluing is bad. I suggest taking it to hold it re blued cost about $50-75.
To find a K98 beside almost all markings try Mitchell's Mauser's or www.empirearms.com or www.classicarms.us

mausers are awesome guns by design. I want one within 7mm. If thats what you want than buy it dont worry what everybody else think. I would like to remind you that surplus ammo normally has crosive primers(in that cal).So verbs your rifle(when you get one) after shooting this ammo.
How to install a Surefire 622 Forend On a Mossberg Maverick 88 shotgun?
Answers:
Be sure your weapon is unloaded first off.
Second, slide the slide back to the point that the bolt is halfway open in the ejection port.
Third, unscrew the barrel takedown screw/magazine cap and remove the barrel.
Fourth, use a slide tube nut wrench to fit into the two slots on the slide tube nut and unscrew it.
Slide the forearm off and slide the Surefire back on.
Replace the slide tube nut, tighten it, and replace the barrel.
If you don't have access to a slide tube nut wrench, you have three options. One is to carefully use a pipe wrench on the tube nut to loosen it.and if you do, be SURE to use padding so you don't scratch it. Two is to use a pair of pliers (with padding again) to loosen the mag tube itself and slide it out of the slide tube. Three is to field strip the weapon and remove the entire action slide tube from the weapon. For two and three, a straight knife blade can then be used to unscrew the nut instead of the nut wrench.
If you go the route of removing the magazine tube, be sure to pad your pliers well to avoid scratching the magazine tube, and don't grip it ANYWHERE except the last half inch at the tip where the barrel takedown screw attached. That last half inch is the only solid part on the tube. You don't want to accidentally bend the magazine tube with your pliers.
What concerned of hunting rifle can instantly butcher an asiatic black take on?
Question:please don't think that i am cruel to animals, i lately need to assemble some info for the manga i am creating. the story involves hunting an asiatic black bear. hope to own good answers from you guys. thank you adjectives

Any 30 caliber will if you hit it in the right spot. If you hit it contained by the heart or brain its dead right after. If you hit it in the spine, its not motionless yet, but its immobile. If you hit it within the lungs its dead in about 10 second. Its the shot placement, not the gun. Id use a 30-06, a 308, or something in that nouns.
any center fire rifle will kill a take on. and asiatic black bears aren't huge.
303
308
30-30
30.06
270
9 mm
8mm
and lots of others.
Probably colossal bore rifle 8mm or larger with a starchy, 300 grain minimum, bullet. This is single about partially of it. Study the anatomy and muscle structure just hitting the heart or lungs may not bring it down. Large bear, especially grizzlies need really specialized rounds that actually verbs a lot of muscle structure that puts them into shock and kill them rather than a heart or lung shot. Game hunters don't travel for head shots since it messes up the fur and mounting possibilities.
If your part is your average everyday type hunter, I'd say step for the 30/06, a guy a little more "into it" - guys feeling like to pay a bunch more on ammo and bragging rights - dance for a 300 mag. Someone into serious overkill. go for a Barrett 50 cal (never in actual fact heard of someone using that for hunting, but would brand an interesting character, albeit an idiot... IMO).
The actuality is pretty much anything in the 30 cal class can drop a accept with a very well placed shot. As far as that "instantaneous drop", that depends more on the hunter. A heart/lung shot is going to drop it pretty quick, a severed spinal column will drop it instantly, but I other considered that kind of a shot to be cruel. A flesh wound will piss rotten a bear (or any animal for that matter).
Do some research on undergo hunting (its not like there's a shortage of information out there) and put yourself contained by the hunter's shoes. Again, IMO, it will make for a far more convincing qualities.
any good centerfire cal., a short time ago emphasize practice and shot placement. i would hold the character use a 7mm mag. , a 30.06, 0r a .308 cal. rifle.
.300 Winchester magnum. It'll drop anything that breaths.
Any deer-class or better tape will do, but the setting and the background of your protagonist will generate a difference. If he's Russian, for instance, he'll probably choose 7.62x54R. Other Europeans might choose 308 or 9.3x62. An American might go near 30-06 or one of the new magnum cartridges developed within the US, depending on his personality. A rich Englishman might choose one of the old African milieu bores, like 333 Jeffery or even 350 Rimless Magnum (Rigby) from his grandfather's collection.
Sorry guys its really shot placement. A 270 on average will rob down most anything ,1 shot 1 kill.
I live within Alaska and I know alot of people who hunt carry up here with the .338 winchester. But if you realy want a true Safari title Big game rifle I'd sugest the .458 Winchester. Its basicly an elephant gun
hit it contained by a vital location. any modern centifire will do fine.
Which style did he move about?
Question:OK I know there's no correct answer to this but let me ask for the sake of it. When a deer get harvested beside an arrow, does it run in the direction it be traveling, turn around and run opposite, or what?
Also, does it thing which way it head if it's returning to the bedding area contained by the early morning or going away the bedding area postponed afternoon/dusk when it gets harvest?
I've been finding that mine adjectives turn around and head BACK to where on earth they were coming from no concern.
Answers:
The two I've taken with arrows both run uphill. That seems to be pretty total in my experience. Although I must right to be heard I never had one hit beside a rifle try to run toward me regardless of my location. Since I can't hunt any more (several reasons and excuses) I can right to be heard most of the animals I have taken next to a rifle didn't travel more than a few yards.
The individual one I've shot, run to the right for about 1 1/2 miles. I be told they could circle around you and bed down.
sounds like you answered your own cross-examine
How the heck do you harvest a deer? Hit it near a corn picker? You don't harvest a deer after it have died and all it's leaves own turned brown. You SHOOT a deer!! Kill a deer.
Do people muse that changing the lingo will make PETA punks go away us alone?
Hey Joe, what do you say we turn and harvest some squirrels this afternoon? Boy would he offer me grief for years to come after that one.
Deer that I have KILLED enjoy turned back the instrument they have come while others that I have SHOT continued on their channel. It probably depends on where they perceive the threat to hold come from and how fast they walk into shock.
