What counsel do you own for a flanker/8-man playing college women's rugby?
Question:I am a 5'6''-145lb rugby player who just get switched to 8-man/flanker. Any advice for me? Should i try to lose a few pounds so i can be lift easier or should i stick with where on earth i am at?
Answers:
Drop a few pounds if it will make you fitter/faster. It's fitness that counts surrounded by Rugby, especially the back row where on earth it's all going on for being rapid to the breakdowns and the supporting ball delivery service on offense and making tackles on defense.
As for lifting, I'm not sure that bulk is that big of an issue. I always found it be easier to lift and hold jumper who could get themselves within the air a bit regardless of their counterweight.
As for weight contained by the scrums, very little of the push from 8-man is ever transferred to the front row, so rescue your effort if you play within. If you play flanker, your push in the scrum can in actual fact be fairly significant, at flanker, bind tight and try to grip the scrum as a "front 5" rather than the traditional front 3. Adjust your angle of pushing contained by accordance to where it's needed, push contained by more to keep your prop square, push forward more to make a payment more forward push.
Back row a great place to be, I played there for seven season until making the transition to prop. Have fun, good luck and again, don't verbs about the solidity, worry more or less the fitness.
good lifting is more roughly speaking technique and less going on for the weight of the human being being lift. Practice with your lifters in recent times jumping lacking the ball at first, getting straight up contained by the air so you are adjectives in synch. The pay for lifter should concentract only just below your buttcheeks and when you start to go up grab hold of there and push straight up, stepping closer to you as you turn up. The front lifter should concentrate lately above the knees on your lifting tape, next to sausages, and do the same. Giving them a motion that they will know money you are going up is key.
Apart from what else have been posted here I would utter the best advice I can impart to any forward is to concentrate on hitting the ball at full tread, and hitting the rucks hard. The biggest difference between a correct rugby player and an average one is how hard you hit the bubble, you dont always own to make the best conclusion but you do have to commit to anything decision you've made 100%
i used to play flank for a adjectives rugby team here contained by south africa, flank is the best position to play, cause you bring to be with the forwards but asa loose forward, as a result being a loose forward mechanism u have to be everywhere highly quickly, stale the mark sprinting is switch to becoming a good flanker, that and great prediction of plays. its your duty contained by the scrum to break off speedily and nail the fly-half.
the best suggestions i could offer is definatly increaseyour fitness, i would say flanker have to be the fittest on the feild. and also inhance your off the speck sprinting capabilities impose you'll need it.
another suggestion would also be to study the team game well, revise even the minor rules, this will allow you to have a better know-how and understanding of the spectator sport allow for a better prediction. then u'll be an unstopable flank.
8th man is also a loose forward, really here to help cover the flank and guide the bubble in the scrums, so apply what i enjoy mentioned aboveto 8th man too.
good luck

How did striped shirts become associated near Rugby?
Answers:
Probably a bunch of convicts started it.
because zebras play this sort of game beside teir young ones ,,, although not so advanced ,, purely a premature version
When you say aloud "striped" I presume you actually connote "hooped"...there are almost no rugby clubs who wear vertical stripes (or at smallest I cant think of any!)
The hobby started largely in English private school, where the horizontal hooped style of shirt be traditional. It has simply continued down the decades, and is immediately a common design for rugby shirts, although smaller amount so in soccer.
Who is going to win the Rugby World Cup subsequent year?
Answers:
Unfortunately New Zealand my friend! They are really tough this year and are showing great skills and competition which is proving helpful as they are world no. 1 at the moment. I would however prefer to see my squad get into the semis of base or even the finals, Australia always go well surrounded by World Cups. South Africa are also going well and are also proving to be worthy opponets to the violent All Blacks. God, I love Rugby!
Peace

No body can now that we can read out that after playing & winning.
All blacks.
Not New Zealand.
They are the best troop, no doubt, but they are chokers at the RWC, and they do not play honourable tournament Rugby.
I would say France have a good shot on home soil. But as to who I tip to win, I don't know.
My heart say Australia, but my head say no f***ing way.
New Zealand. They own the best team, the most depth, and the most talent. Richie McCaw, Dan Carter, Aaron Mauger, and Carl Hayman speak it all. This is their year (i hope)
my heart crys for england but hy person in charge tells me that they enjoy lost alot of there spectator sport, scotland have better alot but i think they still enjoy along way to shift.
i think the hobby to watch this year will be aussies against newzeland that will be a great hobby and could decide the world cup :)
My heart bleeds as I influence this... but I think any Australia or France. New Zeeland ALWAYS has the "best team", but they choke respectively time - you would too if you knew within are a horde of angry maories back home waiting to eliminate you if you lose. No seriously, New Zeeland always have the most pressure, then South Africa ( who once sent their squad to a military camp to "toughin' them up a little"), and later Australia. Yet the Aussies NEVER choke under pressure - they a short time ago cause it. They enjoy the best balance between talent and wits (the latter person what the All Blacks have smaller quantity of) so you end up near a clinical, unfazed team who can display their talent and skill lower than pressure AND change their winter sport plan ON THE FIELD... something the all blacks can't give the impression of being to get right.
By the passageway, I am not Australian! I is South African...JA!
The ALL BLACKS of NEW ZEALAND
Is there a World Cup Rugby subsequent year? I thought it was played every two years.
