Rugby Questions and Answers
Have you ever be more proud to be Irish than today?
Question:From the class and respect shown from the crowd during God save the Queen, the commitment and emotion within amhran na bhfiann I mean to see John Hayes and Jerry Flannery visibily crying be extremely poignant. The will and desire to win displayed by the Irish was outstanding, the icing on the cake be Horgans gaelic style try AND we even saw Eddie O'Sullivan smile!Historic.. a great day to be Irish.
Answers:
That be one of the best games of rugby I've ever seen surrounded by my life! A proud time to be Irish & emotional to hear Ireland's Call reverberate around Croke Park, I'm not ashamed to say I have tears in my eyes. But for almost the total 80 minutes or so, I couldn't keep the smile bad my face, try after try. An event that the entire country watch together & the significance of which only a true Irish man or woman can become conscious.
I haven't - and I'm Scottish.
My ancestors are Irish--does that count?!
Congratulations:)
I'm proud to be Irish everyday! Even though I am only partially.
yay-we rock :D
oh please! you beat us ow very well when it comes to the world cup even i can say that england wont win since the adjectives blacks are too good so a short time ago becuase you won today dont mean you own a chance surrounded by the world cup however it may be i will still stand up and sing god save the queen no event we win or loose
A very dignified and proud accomplishment
I think that respect for the national anthem of any country is to be expected from the individuals of any country. However what they think of politicians and some of the relatives of the country should be for individual experience not national history.
You had a great accomplishment today so well done! Also it be the first time I'd seen Ireland play at home outside Lansdown Road. To be frank that Lansdown road stadium be pretty shabby and wasn't good for Ireland's national portrait. It should have be knocked down abundant years ago. Anyway congratulations again. England were defeated today contained by every aspect of the game.
This is sooner or later to remember when your Irish!! We have closely of pride and, im sure you'll agree with me, its a privilage to be Irish
When I first clicked on this cross-examine, I thought you meant within general!! Now I can see you are conversation to people who are REALLY Irish----not us partially bloods in America.
From this partially blood---I am glad you were competent to experience such an emotional event today. It really must hold been well brought-up!
:)
I am Irish, but I didnt understand what you be saying.
I am guessing soccer, sorry football??
My hubby is a big Celtic lover ( not basketball)
I would have preferred Borat singing the Kazakstan National Anthem to be honest. But hey ably done!
I think every daytime is a proud day to be IRISH, but this evenings performances by the Irish troop was brilliant, roll on another triple crown hopefully.....
Well done for giving the nigels a spanking, boy did you wallop them, big up to the Irish
I'm an Englishman although my ethnic birth is Indian as my parents were both from Goa. Congratulations Ireland on a appealing victory and for showing forgiveness and grace on what must own been an emotionally charged hours of darkness. There was greatly written in the Fourth Estate about the political significance of the hours of darkness. I have abundant friends with Irish background and so I have be lucky enough to drop by Ireland many times. There is no song moderately like the Fields of Athenry and nearby couldn't have be many dry eyes contained by Croke Park when that was anyone echoed around the ground.
It be a poignant and fitting way to honour the victims of what happen in 1920. Fingers crossed that the Irish can gain the results they need to win the Five Nations (although I also hope England can recuperate and maybe sneek the results they inevitability!).
i'm not irish, but i wanted to right to be heard congratulations nonetheless, your boys fought very ably and you deserved the victory. hold to say i am not usually a massive rugby follower, but the six nation always conjours up a few surprises as very well as excitement, alongside the rugby world cup which is taking place subsequently on this year.
because of their success and the publicity over their win against the aussies during the final contained by australia in 2002, england own been to a life-size extent arrogant and thus, it is because of that success that it have allowed it to affect them in such a denial way, surrounded by terms of their performances- most of which be dire- that they have gone backwards, instead of forward as a part. the fact that they are so over reliant on jonny wilkinson as the knob man, this in itself illustrate the problems england have inside the team, desolately. and rugby- like football- isn't a one-man sport and it shouldn't be. this go to show the rugby world cup win was a one-off and will never be repeated again, powerfully, not in france this year i.e. and probably not in unsullied zealand either, methinks. i'd predict any south africa- the springboks-, or the all blacks from different zealand will win it. england on the other hand, haven't get a cat in hell's providence
Today's game be just brilliant. We own grown up as a country and I felt so proud of adjectives the Irish fans and the players who be at Croker today and the repect they showed to the English team and their national anthem. I still hold a big smile on my face and will never forget this afternoon, for the great rugby that was played and because of its place within history
What about Johnny Logan leading Eurovision!
**** brilliant.
your right the pride was within from start to finish and they were wonderful although im proud to be irish for heaps different reasons :)
History is only that.
I read History and fully recognise the significance of Today's game.
Not withstanding, I congratulate Ireland.
I played the Gentleman's spectator sport of Rugby and I have no problem near the fact that England be beaten by a better troop.
To all you thumb downers. Pogue Mahone !
Absolutely! The rite was outstanding, we be the better team adjectives round. I am Irish living in Cork, and this is one of the most moving days in Irish sporting history.
Lets a short time ago hope that we didn't damage the English's pride too much and that they could do us a big wish against France in two weeks time!
i've other been proud to be Irish but the respect that the fan gave to the England national anthem made me more proud and also the zeal that was shown by the Irish players be something i have never see in my natural life before. knotty luck England, well done Ireland.
Yes it freshly brilliant. Im Irish living in england and I freshly want to share my pride and euphoria with others who can think through the signifance of todays game. Well done Ireland.
Fiar play to adjectives who went to the game,i`m english and i thought the irish were intensely welcoming and they be no signs of any trouble or booing of both the anthems.Ok sham we get our * kicked but on the day clearly ireland be a far better team.
congratulations.Lets hope brian 0 driscoll is ok and in place for your next team game.
I am a France fan but she is Irish so I am sooooooooooo glowing for her.
(from America) ALWAYS proud to be Irish! This is so fitting!
In Rugby, can you throw a player holding the orb over the tri procession? would this be legitimate?
Answers:
yes
yes, as long as you're not obstructing the dislike from making a tackle/ getting the ball, but it would be rather difficult to do.
do you mean pick him up and throw put money on onto the field of play and out of the aspiration area (ie the nouns over the try line??) in the past he scores a try??
cos if you do the anwser would be no (well, you can do it but it would be against the laws) - you cannot "throw" anyone anywhere -that would be dicey play and you would probably be yellow carded and 10 minutes surrounded by the sin bin
probably not, but maybe it should be - anyone should deserve something for throwing 15 stones of meatloaf any distance!
but seriously, wouldnt it be knock forward?
As long as it is not a dangerous meet yes
Throw - No.
Assist over the try line - Yes
The rules are clear to interpreation, but "throwing a player" to achieve a try, NO !
If he is trying to evaluation . YEs you can nudge him over the dead bubble line to prevent him from scoring.
But Throwing him anywhere on the corral , like spear tackle or so .not allowd any more...
Rule came surrounded by to play this year and depending on the referee..it is a red card first, afterwards maybe a wan card and 10 min in Sin bin.
England? - or Ireland?
Question:Quick response before the hobby kicks stale in going on for 3 hours. But who do you reckon to win - and why?
Ireland have get Ronan O'Begorra back, and England are on the rear foot purely because they are playing within the atmosphere of Groke Park.
Promises to be a fitting scrap. As an Englishman, I would approaching to see them win, but am living in hopes. But as a Brit, I would sooner see England lose to a devout team approaching Ireland than to France.
Answers:
Ireland to win - Croke Park will be pretty intimidating and I just largely think that Ireland will be the better troop on the day but let just see what happen eh.
My prediction Ireland 23 - England 15
I am a cricket Fan !

IRELAND! We've be looking forward to this day for the closing 800 years pal. Good luck to you anyhow...
IRELAND!!!
Not fussed really as I'm Welsh and also I'm not into Rugby (Shock! Horror!)
I own one Irish Great Grandparent and one English Great Grandparent also so I can't even call on ancestry to lean one channel or the other.
Acually I'll say England as a) they've be playing really well and b) my fiance is English and it'll formulate him happy if they win.
I prefer cricket myself. Yes we own some great Welsh cricket players - Robert Croft and Simon Jones for instance.
TOTALLY ENGLAND they are the best and dont forget that oh and good luck.
Am a Welshy but putting my money and hopes on Ireland .
Wish us luck for our winter sport later, we sure as hell want it !!

I'd have to enunciate the emerald isles. (Ireland)
Well England are you looking forward to getting your Butts kicked surrounded by Croke Park today. ??
Answers:
actually.. have my team(scotland) lose today was almost worth it, how i crow whilst watching Ireland totally pound your english poopers good and proper.
HA HA HA
as for neil... are you intake your words now??
excellent result
Listen we might lose but we will be far from enjoy our butts kicked i still do not believe ireland are as great as they are made out to be,yes they are a good troop and are playing better than england but hey lets remember that england are merely starting to rebuild as a squad.
Hope i dont own to come on here and gloat that ireland lost!! i`m sure i wont tho
ohhh i live in hope..Let the guinness and the english tears flow!
"England are purely starting to rebuild as a squad"
What are you smoking dude?? The RWC is a few months away, England own had FOUR YEARS to "do again their squad"....
The Paddies by 10 points. (Paddies did better than I expected)
Wilkinson won't last 40 mins (got that wrong, eh?)
At tiniest 1 yellow card to England (my money's on Grewcock to rob that honour) SPOT ON!! He was a twat when I played beside him..nothing's changed
You heard it here first... ;-)
Hey Bootycreord, England are World Champs for a few more months, but recount me..what have they won since later? I don't think anyone see them as a serious contender this time around, do you??
England will be out in the quarter finals (6th October) when you play the Wallabies... assuming they can finish second surrounded by Pool A that is, at the back Sth Africa. Maybe Samoa or Tonga are in beside a chance of knock them out earlier. One thing's for sure, little Johnny won't final that long. He'll be home nursing another injury, or if he does make it to France, he won't final through 2 pool matches against Samoa and Tonga..
Maybe the Queen should paw out some MBE's to the Irish players for winning a team game of rugby, just approaching she did when you won the World Cup ;-))
I seem to remember she did matching thing beside your cricketers for winning the Ashes a couple of years posterior.. what a joke!
Pound the Limey's!
irish are favourites thats for sure..they own home adv. plus England are shite at the moment..26 - 16 to irish ..
England is so going further than you so get used to it you SRE GOING DOWN!!!!!!!!!!...
DOWN!
DOWN!
DOWN!
As it will not take place your question is irrelevant. When did Ireland finishing win the world cup? Ooops sorry you havn't and probably never will.
And the Irish claim the English are arrogant? Pot calling the kettle. Ireland are the form team within Northern hemisphere rugby at the moment. They are the bookies favourite to win today. They enjoy the crowd, the players, but they also have massive weightiness of expectation on them. They like to play as underdog but that isnt the case today and they may simply (hopefully) crack under the pressure. Irish players enjoy been surrounded by the English press saying how England dont hold a chance. Thats more than alluring fate. Thats creeping up at the rear it and flicking its balls beside a wet towel!
I really hope England push all these taunts final down Irish throats and stick a candle on them.
That said It will be a great game.
Friendly joke pls boys !!
Having said that , come on Ireland !!
