What should be my time for 1600m?
Question:I am 14 and an 8th grader..I'm not sure what time I should be running..im a distance runner not a sprinter. I recently sprained my ankle..at my closing track meet a run 1600m in 7:58..i know its really fruitless..please help!! appreciation =)

if you got to 7 minutes flat by the call a halt of your 8th grade year that would be accurate. then once you're contained by high arts school, I've been told it's like mad easier to improve because the training is harder.
don't verbs about how nifty you are until freshman year. just verbs about staying contained by shape and prepare yourself for the training. Good luck, by the way. I'm also 14 and an 8th class and my time with a pinched hip courage at my last join was 7:01 but I generally run a 6:20. I'm a guy, though, so I've got a great deal of practice too. :] I hope you do well at your dignified school track squad - you sound close to you're doing pretty good, though!

ok I own been within track for 5 years and I have have some good years and some unpromising what you need to focus on since you are so youthful is getting in appropriate shape and improving from your times within other meets. conjecture of the meets when you are at practice ponder of how you want to improve your time and argument thought the pain within practice so it will benefit you in meet. You abviously want to be good if you are on here and you will become accurate with the right attitude and training.
Running your best and putting forth your best stab will give you the time that you should be running. No one can relay you what you should be running just because you are a 14 year antiquated girl. Just have fun and worthy luck.
If you could get beneath 7, that would be good. Don't verbs so much about your time immediately because you will improve deeply more next year within high academy. I cut off a minute from my middle university times in elevated school. In glorious school you train more and you train every single daytime, so you get greatly faster. For now, of late try to increase your endurance by working easier said than done in practice and cut sour as much time as you can, and you will be a lot better subsequent year.
i would say that a 6 minute mile would be worthy, i run track and am 14 and an 8th grader, i am awesome at long distance, i run about 5:30 on average, but i run everyday twice a hours of daylight, 3 miles each time, concluding year when i ran track i run it in 6:17 and the 2nd place individual had 6:30, so i would right to be heard a 6 minute would be good.
Practice is specifically what will make you faster. Just don't re-injure your ankle. When i first united track it took me over 8 minutes to run the 1600 and 2 and a half months next i ran it below 7. You will definitely promote. Don't worry something like it. Just keep on practicing.

I'm a distance runner too and I think the time I have for the 1600 was 6:55, but I have been running for a long time. So thats pretty appropriate for having a sprained ankle. Once you carry to high conservatory you will find that the average time for the 1600 will be around 6:20 or less (I'm varsity and my 1600 time is 5:42) So your doing appropriate just preserve up the hard work
ok capably 7:58.wow. well that be when you sprained your ankle though right? Well when i was an 8th grader I run the mile around and in between 6:30 and 6:40. It merely depends on how in shape you are. Girls surrounded by the 8th grade inevitability to shoot for under 7 at lowest. I did it! So you can too!
If I want to do track, should I try Cross Country?
Question:well I plan on running the 800m and 1600m contained by my high school's track troop if I make it because that's what my coach here at my middle academy has have me running, but I've never run more than a mile or two at a time. should I do Cross Country as well? is it required? I won't be home in time during the summer to formulate it to my school's cross country practice, but track practice will start in November. do you muse I should just linger until track practice or do I really need the experience of cross country? Please answer... Thanks!

Well, cross country would absolutely help you. You would gain more fortitude, so you could run the mile and 800 faster. If you won't be home in August for the practice, you might be capable of start late. It depends on how much of the practice you would miss. Since your sole purpose within doing XC is to get primed for track, it isn't completely necessary that you do it. But will you enjoy the self discipline to train on your own before track starts? That's what you'll requirement to do, one way or another, and XC would automatically ensure that you'd achieve your training. If you can do it on your own, then you really don't have need of XC, but most people own a hard time training on their own. Basically the bottom dash is you have to gain ready for track and XC would be a great path to do that.
i ran track contained by high institution and i dident join cross country you can if you want but you dont really have need of to just up to that time the seaso starts run a bit get your body within tune for what is to come for the season
If you are a really fast runner it might be better to stick beside shorter dash runs. CC it's adjectives endurance running and boring if you don't resembling to run distance.
I would definitely communicate you to try cross country. If you are a distance runner cross coutry will help push the envelope and assist you excel in another rank in track. Cross country will support your body handle the stress of running long distance and will serve improve your time surrounded by track exponentially. You will also let your body fit to running long distance even more and make better time.
ultimate year in 9th position i ran track doing the 400 and 800 and my 2 coaches bothtold me i should try cross country because it would give a hand me and especially since your doing the 1600 you should probably do cross counttry youll probably be very honourable at it
You don't have to be surrounded by Cross country to do track, but i think it would be hugely helpful. It will hold on to you motivated and wanting to run plus you will get to come upon many of alike girls that are one the track team and form some new friends. If you choose not to secure cross country make sure that you bein running at lowest possible a month prior to the first day of practice, because if you don't the first morning will be really hard.
Well, you're a distance runner so X Country won't be that complicated for you. I hated XC because I be a sprinter in track. If you really want to do it, do it! You should train running up hill though.
Tip: when running uphill, shorten your pace and pump your arms. This ease the amount of energy you exert and uses your upperbody more. When going downhill, elongate your stride and relax your arms, even shake them out. It's like for a while break in a see.

I would strongly suggest doing Cross Country. If you are going to be a 8OO-1600 runner you need to own that base formerly the season starts and trust me, it will help you surrounded by the long run. I ran the 800 & 1600 within jr. high and I have never run over 2 miles before dignified school but cross country unambiguously helped my track times. My friend approved not to do cross country and struggled a little during the track season. I vote go for it.

Do XC you will approaching it. If your coach is any good you will build plenty endurance.
i run the 400m, and the 800m, and i've definately run more than a mile at a time. if you run the 1600m, don't you run 5-6 miles at practice in lay down to build up your endurance. cross country would notably be recommended in proclaim to stay in shape. but if you're not going to be paid it to practice then you should not weave. especially if in track they don't engender you practice your endurance. contained by cross country they will be running more than a mile, without the conditioning i thought it you would product it. if you're not joining xc because your heart wants it, don't even consider it. honourable luck.
What is track troop contained by dignified institution, how does it work, and how can you interlace?

Track is the running part of Track & Field, which also includes such events as long fly, high rear, etc.
Normally, the Track Team will be looking for people who can run hurriedly, and/or run for a long time. My guess is that your school will hold try-outs, which is when you'd have the opportunity to show the coaches your skills. Most of the time, the coaches will select the students beside the best skills, based on a predetermined number of spaces available on the team. Sometimes, adjectives students are allowed on the team, but later only run the events that allow them to use their skills.
There are slightly a few different types of running events. The shortest is usually the 100-meter dash, which is exactly as it sounds - a sprint for 100 meters. There are also longer runs on the track, such as the 400m, relays and hurdles. Additionally, in attendance is also cross-country, although this is sometimes a separate team, as the type of training involved is pretty a bit different.
Track in my evaluation is a good sport to carry into. There are dozens of events one can train for of varying distances and skill. It'll get you surrounded by shape really fast, and is fun to do next to friends.
The meets are kinda fun, long, but it's a virtuous time.
At the beginning of the season, in attendance should be an announcement somewhere at your school. Just see the track coach if your interested within joining.
No one is really pressured to compete if they don't want to. It was really relaxed when I did it, and lots of fun. Don't consent to any worries prevent you from joining!
a track team is approaching any other team contained by high academy. it's a second family solely this one depends more on each other. everyone is doing something different, and they should adjectives independly work their best to support their teammates. track teams usually hold a lot of diversity, and are drastically fun. you need deeply of people feeling like to work hard within other to win. you join as you would any other sport, and attending practices.
Are my times for respectively distance running event where on earth they should be ?!?
Question:im a sophmore in highschool and i of late started running my freshman yr. cross country. lately ive been running a 6:20 mile wherein indoor track, my best mile time be a 6:13 which i ran at states. i run the 1200m in a relay a couple days ago and i get 4:39. i ran the 2mile yesterday, and run a 13:35. are my times somewhat where they should be? what can i do to take better ?

Your times are fantastic, you obviously own a lot of talent, try doing more calistenics to give support to with your form, speed and power. As long as it is fun! Lots of elevated knee butt kickers and skipping a's and b's, bounds, and leap frogs. Do this for at tiniest 20 minutes before or after every workout and you will get going to see a big difference in your times. Stick beside it, continue working out within the off season and you will be unattainable next year!
