Running Questions and Answers

Mile times?

Question:wat do u think the average speed of a thirteen year aged girl is??
Answers:

it depends on how in shape you are, and how much experience you hold running.

if you dont run much, anything under 10 minutes is apposite.
if you are in shape, you should be lower than 8 minutes
if you want to do well on the track squad, you should be under 6 minutes.
You should be running a 6:30 mile.
i deem 2 miles per min
Between 6-10 miles/hour would be about right.
I would utter about 7:00 for an competitive average thirteen year mature girl.
average in u.s.a -- 8:00
within shape -- 6:30
competitive -- 5:15-5:45
If you are talking around athletes under 7 minutes would be roughly speaking average. If you are talking just about jogging speeds for multiple miles I would voice around 8 minutes per mile. If you are running for fitness or weight loss don't be concerned near speed. Keeping a target heart rate for at least 20 minutes is more defining.
Probably like 9 minutes per mile.
umm im within track and cross country and today we had our first track draw together and i run the mile...i got 7:58 which is the worst run i ever did within my life-- i usually run a 6:50 some mile =/

I'm trying hurdles for the first time this year, any suggestions?

Question:I am a freshman in elevated school, and this year I am running the 110 meter lofty hurdles. It is my first year doing hurdles, and for some reason i preserve hitting the hurdles, and when i told the coach hurdles werent for me, he insisted that my height and long legs are unfaultable for hurdles, i just requirement to work on my technique. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Answers:

bring the knees of your lead leg up, the rest of your organize leg will follow. dont force your lead leg over b/c you will wrap up up kicking the hurdles over and getting DQ'd. snap your trail leg over the hurdle so that it is barely skimming the top of the hurdle. at practice, cart 5 or so hurdles and line them up within a row. practice with your organize leg as you run along side, then switch legs. do alike with your trail leg. this will support your form. also when hurdling which ever leg is leading the conflicting arm should be out front so it looks like your looking at a see and your other arm should be tucked along side your body.

i hope this helps. i run the 300H so i chew over its relatively the same technique.
Practice, practice, practice. Just kid hehe but seriously if your coach thinks you're great you should keep hold of working on it. You know mental state is important. Go to the library and check out some of the great hurdlers within history. You need a mentor. Best.
Jump High
Use that to ur dominance as long as u make it over even when knock them down at a fast stride u can still win. on my track team the fastest guy knock them down on purpose to run faster
Ice + ibuprofen. Cheers.

What would be a fitting time for a freshman surrounded by the mile and 2 mile?

Question:Its my first year of running and i run the mile and 2mile for my track team what would be a suitable time for my first year of running?
Answers:

Depending on how long you have be training . . .

If you are a guy . . .

Less than a month: 6:00/13:00
1-2 Months: 5:30/12:15
2+ Months: 5:00-5:30/11:130

If this is your first race . . . .
The first see of the season is never an indication of how you will end up at the train of the season. Daily practice and workouts with the troop will lower your times dramatically. If you don't get the time you looked-for, don't get discouraged. Races require strategy as in good health as a running. If you get a time you resembling, pick a faster goal. Regardless, hold on to running and keep race. Both will make you better.

If you own a few races underneath your belt . . .
To improve times, preserve running a decent number of miles 30-40 a week should be fine. This includes your distance days, as economically as speed work. Keep at it, the times will fall.
as nifty as you can ??? whats the question???
1 mile- 6:00
2 mile- 13:00
6 mins, 13 mins. those be my freshman times apprx.
for the mile you should hit at least 5:30 or better and the 2 mile below 12:30.
As a freshman, under 5:20 mile would be moral, under 5:10 would be great. If you can break 11:30 within the 2 you'd be solid.
well we dont know the type of height your on, but id utter for the mile around 530 and for the 2-mile around 12:00-12:20

JV 2 mile see?

Question:I've been running track for three years this March, and own really been...in good health, a slower runner. However, I've recently enhanced a lot, and Coach arranged to let me run the JV 2-mile surrounded by a Saturday meet (Saturday meet are only for varsity and JV...everyone else only doesn't go.) Though I've be running for three years, I've never run the 2-mile in a gather round; I've only be allowed to run the 800 and the mile. Does anyone have any warning on how to run a 2-mile? Like, when to kick it contained by, if you should go out stronger than usual, things resembling that. Thanks much!
Answers:

Run it as you would a cross country race- stick with the pack because even though it's a 2 mile see the pack will always start out strong. Losing the pack (by holding wager on thinking you'll catch them) is not a correct idea because it's rock-hard to find the motavation to catch them again; especially within track where you can see exactly how far you own to go to take into custody them. So again, hang next to the pack- I wouldn't lead it, freshly stay up there and if you touch you can do it, go ahead and hold the leader surrounded by the last 800 or so. If you've run an 800 and mile, you'll know where on earth you need to be within terms of dash by that point.

Another thing, quit pointing out that you're slow! I bet you own a lot of talent but if you verbs to tell yourself that you're slow you're solely setting yourself up to be...SLOW! Make it a point to prove yourself at this race and really receive out there and show the coach what you can do! Get surrounded by a zone and just stay near the pack; keep your arms and body relaxed and focus on PR'ing for your own goal. I'm sure you'll do even better if you believe in yourself!

Good luck!
i run the 2 mile most of the time during track seasons contained by high institution. I don't really have that polite advice, only to say that never start out to briskly, because you have 8 lap to go, but don't be discouraged to win up to the top in the foundation and keep a steady stride adjectives the way through. The concluding 2 laps is when you should really see it in and try to endorse that girl who passed up you, because she's probably getting tired. Just think smart and save good form and bestow a really good see the last 200m or so. Good Luck =]
I run the 2 mile for my track troop u really need to tread ur self and try to be right behind someone to drift past its sell-by date of them and when u reach the 6th nouns push it and start passing those then depending on how much punch u have disappeared the last 1/3 of the end lap construct it a fast run after turn it into a sprint
think going on for the strategies that worked for you in cross country, and try to style those.

2 miles is a long distance, so you dont want to start out too fast. stick next to the pack for at least the first mile. if you surface great at that point, push it and get out front. otherwise lately hang next to the leaders. if you have a strong sprint, you should recover that for the last nouns or half nouns, and outsprint the leaders at the end. If not, you should push the step for the last two lap and try to open a big front on them.
DOn't start out too slow.. you'll regret it at the end. But you deffinatly necessitate to pick it up alot the last 2 lap. for the first 4, run about a 6 min gait, then try for a 5:30 mile at the appendage.
If you're not one of the top runners, never try to go out too in a hurry and with the organize pack, I always try to product my second mile faster than my first. Do whatever is comfortable for you though.
