the poor can play tennis for fun an in attendance are plenty of programs alover the world that can help any jounor or youth receive in to the activity it just take reseacrh. when i started playing at a young age of 15 i did not even hold a racquet to play with. my institution let me hold one for a few weeks until i get one.But even when i got one it be not the best but it was made a short time ago for me at my playing level. it costed 20 dollars us(WALMART). an it be a head racquet which i still hold till this day. the best track to get surrounded by whould be to go through your university an see what they got but for alot of racquet makers enjoy programs all over the world that will relieve to get u started. adjectives u might need is a parents sanction. good luck
Its duplicate everywhere. The equipment costs money, and so does renting the facilities to play, but the most substantial thing is coaching.

Tennis is a vastly technical spectator sport and to be any good you own to be coached, and that costs a fortune.
in u.s. w/o unprocessed talent aka u suck it can get pretty pricey *trainer* but w/ talent not so doomed to failure
I'm in Hong Kong.
About 20 years ago, I feel there be the problem that only the rich could play tennis. Playing tennis be even once been a symbol of social status.
However, as I can see today, tennis is getting more and more popular. Though not big in number, tennis courts can be found anywhere you budge, and the fee to use those courts is also pretty affordable by the common public, on average it costs only HK$50, which is roughly the cost of 2 combo meals at McDonald's.
Unavoidably, due to the cost of materials and mechanical improvement, the price of tennis racquets here is still a bit high, a short time ago as in plentiful other countries.
Nevertheless, if people still find the expense on tennis is too glorious for them, they may join some training classes organized by an tennis machinery, at low cost of course.
All within all, tennis is only just a common sport surrounded by Hong Kong.

I hope you could find some changes within your country soon~~~~
By the way, which country are you within?...^.^
There are some cheap versions of everything. I'm not rich but, I play tennis :) I can stuff people next to more expensive racquets or shoes. So have fun and don't verbs about getting the expensive stuff.
anyone can play tennis. it's not the racquet that matter, but the power behind it.

Tennis begin as a sport for the rich. That's why the scoring is so unique. It be used to complicate the game and exclude the poor. I be unaware that the prejudice remained, but best of luck showing up the rich if you're thinking of picking up tennis!
Yes it's expensive. besides the cost for equipment, simply try to find friends who know how to play to teach you. but it still won't catch you as far as if you had money unless you hold incredible talent and/or dedication
Don't let that stop you! You can do anything if you set your mind to it!
