How does one be a good coxswain for crew?

Question:I am joining our school's crew team this fall. Since I am pretty short and have short legs I am planning to be a coxswain. So, advice would be much appreciated.
Answers:

Push ur teamates to perform without being obnoxious first of all. A lot of rowers get resentful since coxswains dont usually do the workouts. if u really want ur rowers to respect u, do their workouts with them.

Secondly, steer the boat straight. I know this sounds obvious, and I know its not that easy, but it a coxswain's most important job, in fact the reason they are there, so doing it well is a big plus.

Third, no matter how long you cox for, you will not understand the technique involved in a rower's stroke. The coaches do, and give tips to the rowers on how to improve it. This is not your job though.

Finally, just make sure you have a good time with your rowers. In my experience the fastest boats are ones filled with respect, admiration and friendship, not just muscle. Rowing can really be a great sport, I hope you have a great time!

What is down an approved olympic swimming pool?

Answers:

From wikopedia:

The FINA specifications for an Olympic pool are as follows:

Length: 50 m
Width: 25 m
Number of lanes: 8
Lane distance: 2.5 m
Water temperature: 25 °C - 28°C
Light intensity: >1500 lux
Depth: 2.0 m minimum

There must be two spaces 2.5 m huge outside lanes 1 and 8 (in effect, two not in use lanes). Also, the 50 metres length must be between the touch pads, if they are used.
3 times longer than wide open
50m.

Actually, how would americans measure it? It would be something abnormal like 160 foot or 40.354 yards possibly.

Used surfboard.worthy do business? or not..?

Question:I have a friend who surfs alot and is selling a practically strange short board. It is a Dakine case included for 355. It be Ben Bougious (pro surfer) that he rode twice, and my friend only rode it three times...so its roughly new..its 3'11"
soo honourable deal? or not worth it.
Answers:

3' 11" ?
Are you sure? Dakine make surfboard accessories, not surfboards. The board pictured is a Wave Riding Vehicle.
The board be shaped for Ben B. therefore it is shaped for his riding style. Do you ride similar to Ben B? Do you have as much experience within the water as Ben B? If not, later find another board. $355.00 shouldn't be too far from the price of a new board( yeah, I know he is throwing within the board bag). Point is Unless this board suits your style and experience level, you will never be cheerful with it.
If you don't already, call on your local surf shop( preferably one that's close to your favorite break or a break you'll have the most access to) and turn from there.
My rule is , when buying surfboards, other stick to a shaper that shapes boards for your coastline.(east coast for east coast, etc.)

This board is only other if you ride like the surfer it is shaped for.
How polite are you? If you've surfed for months on end and you're really into the sport later you'll most likely love it.
If you're a trainee, buy it and keep it undamagingly in your garage.
I would love to ride it personnally.
